We def are taking steps forward- as a Die Hard Noles fan- that’s the best I’ve seen our D line look in awhile. I think of our O line tightens up a bit- Milton should be our starter- and we will win a lot of games this year. The Georgia transfer is a beast! Thanks for becoming a Nole!

I am so proud of #5 Joe Wilkins. I had the opportunity to take care of Joe and his sisters when he was 3 yrs. old and threw him his first football. To see what a great young man he has become through a life of adversity from birth is awe inspiring and should be a beacon of hope to everyone who doesn’t believe they are greater than their life’s circumstances. Congratulations Joe. I am truly proud of you.

Jack Coan came from a Wisconsin offensive system that is predicated to running the football and playing conservative, he played a great game tonight. The big concern moving forward for Notre Dame is their defense gave up a lot of big plays in the 2nd half of this game
As a Wisconsin fan, this was absolutely sickening to see, especially after seeing that Graham Mertz was on the take yesterday.
Freemans defense will get better as a season goes.ACC is much more competitive compare to AAC(during his time with Cincinnati)

I’m a hardcore gators fan but man I missed seeing Milton as someone who lives in Orlando. I remember watching that injury and then a few weeks later learning about how he would never play again. When he came out there, I was rooting for fsu to win.
Great game and Kelly had the chance to put FSU away, but in true Kelly fashion, he keeps the other team in the game.
Always remember this about '' THE LIL SHANTY'' ! He was & is a FINESSE COACH ! He has NO KILLER INSTINCT ! Like the GREAT COACHS !
The defensive coordinator kept FSU in the game. It was way too early for prevent defense. He needs to do a ton of up downs on Tuesday
@Michael Kraus…you seem to be the only one that gets it..too many people on here blaming Marcus Freeman for the change in defensive alignment after building the 18 point lead. We’ve been watching the Irish ran by BK his whole time here and this whole thing stunk of his unwillingness to kick the opponent when they are reeling.And I really don’t dislike the guy, I just know and accept who he is and what he gives the fanbase for a product. It’s all good though, we get a week off as they’ll beat Toledo by 28-35 points at home….??

The offense gives you a 18pt lead against a one dimensional team and you still get killed. They should have beat them by 30 pts. Im blaming anyone on defense for this game being this close. I'm an FSU fan, and I'm not even mad about this game. You can say anything you want about how they iced their own kicker and stuff like that. But they played really well tonight against a Notre Dame team that could probably be a playoff team.

I’m a notre dame fan. They are not a playoff team. They lost the best linebacker in college football who would have cleaned up 20-30 plays tonight that these bums missed. I kid you not, Notre Dame had to have missed 40 tackles. Had to. Also, coan played well but Book was better and they had 4 offensive lineman who are now in the NFL with one returning starter.
Notre Dame is a 9-3 10-2 team at best this year.
Even though they're our rivals Florida State really gave it to Notre Dame. Even though they lost You gotta give them credit for all the heart they gave out there on the field. I think my biggest issue was when they didn't put McKenzie Milton in the game earlier I think they would have won the game. Its year 2 for Mike Norvell and FSU is looking much better from last year. If they keep it up UF vs FSU game should be interesting.

The highlights ignore FSU's McKenzie Milton's heroics. Sheesh!
Best game I've ever attended all around. Electric full capacity crowd, perfect kickoff time with good weather as the sun was setting, excellent officiating and good football between two tradition rich programs. Down 18 we had a feeling Notre Dame could go on to win by 28 or more and we would be in for another season of humility but that feeling only lasted one drive. After scoring on the ensuing possession, even though we were still down by 10pts to a Top 10 team with less than 14 mins to play, you could feel the energy change. Looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully a new era. Go Noles!

Another reason ESPN is garbage. Didn't capture anything that made the game great. Didn't show the replay of the safety running all the way from the other hash for the int. Didn't mention anything about Milton. Basically doing the bare minimum. Fan made highlight reels are better.

As an FSU fan, I couldn’t have asked for a better game! Nearly sprung the upset. But I think this shows where FSU is heading with Mike Norvell at the helm. A loss is a loss, but this is the best feeling loss I’ve ever seen.
Did you miss the part where norvell lost the game for us by going for it on 4th down on his own 33 only down by 10 in the third quarter. Worst play call ever seen players deserved better than to be led by that idiot.
@@alexschettino5061 that was a big error on Coach’s part. I don’t disagree, and I suspect as a Coach he will own that and learn from it (he’s young). But to narrow down the entire 60+ minute game to JUST that call is super short sighted. Surely you know and understand that. Football can’t just be defined by a single play call. You can’t just condemn the staff for that call, and then not credit them for 18 in the 4th quarter to tie against the 9th best team in the country. Give them a shot in OT. There’s a tremendous amount of upside here too, staff exceeded expectations going into this game. This team will learn and grow from here. Go Noles!
@MR C yes, this team is still growing. Of course I wanted us to win! But considering what was expected of us going into the game, I couldn’t have asked for a better loss. Tons of growth potential from here and learning lessons. Oh, and a vision to sell recruits! There was one very questionable play call (we know what it was). Hindsight can’t be taken into consideration, you always challenge and give your kicker the best shot to hit the field goal and win the game. He made the right call to challenge, he couldn’t have known or want to put the kicker in a worse field position in OT. Agreed on defense. Run defense was great! Linebackers need work, and secondary let this QB shine. ND played their A game, and minimized mistakes. We made more, and it won them the game. That’s football, and we will grow.
@@EdKennedyV Would you have made that call? Tell me honestly. These coaches are getting paid very good salaries to not make calls like that. High school coaches even know not to make calls like that. That call cost them the game period and there's nothing wrong with holding him accountable. I have been rooting for this team since the Bowden days and I can't tell you how angry I was when they were making that call. I had a gut feeling it was going to go very bad and it did - resulting in a TD for ND. Also, Norvell should have started MM. This was a big game and MM has big game experience. He definitely should have went in after the 2nd interception - maybe even after the first because Travis made the same mistake twice on the 2nd interception. I do think Norvell made the right call on the kicking issue. I believe Norvell has got the Noles going in the right direction but I do question his judgement. Just like the players are called out by their coaches, coaches need to be called out too to keep them on their toes so they don't make the same mistake twice.
@@littlegmod please read both of my responses to the others above. I answer. No, I would not have made that call. Our penalties and turnovers cost us the game. I hold Norvell accountable for the bad calls he did make. But I’ll commend the staff and team for all the positives we did display, too. This team way exceeded all expectations last night. I’m optimistic the coaches will learn from their own mistakes, as much as they would expect the team to grow and learn from this. Go Noles!

My first game as an FSU student, what a game. If we can fix up some of the mistakes made out there tonight, and be more clinical when we’re in our own half, we can really improve this offense. Defensively decent, but still had mistakes. Couldn’t have asked for a better first game

@@dominicguyton2551 Not really. They have a huge following and don't need a conference. They can make more money being independent and play whomever in Power 5 which helps marketing and branding.
@@app1mxh But they don't have an opportunity to be a conference champion and that may affect them getting into the playoff. They would be better off joining the ACC in my opinion especially now that the ACC has its own network backed by ESPN.

Have their pick to who they want to play from the SEC, ACC, B1G or the Pac 10. As long as they stay relevant there is no need. On the overtime 3rd down play by FSU, not sure if it was a fumble (recovered by the quarterback) or a pass - ruled a pass by the replay official - wouldn’t that be intentional grounding? No receiver in the area and the pass didn’t go past the line of scrimmage. Am I missing something? Appreciate any help on this.

I’ve posted this same question elsewhere. Qb wasn’t touched. If it’s an incomplete pass(?) no one was in the backfield. No one. Thus no receiver around. What’s to keep a QB from going shotgun, drops back and throwing the ball at his feet when he is under pressure. ??? Call made no sense. Agree
I want to say yes it is. But No, it isn’t. It’s like spiking the ball. 🏈 it happens all the time in college and nfl. The other one where he picked up the horrible snap should have been. Because he was not outside the pocket. Or maybe they let him slide since he was so far back. I don’t know. But I still think it should’ve been called. That was when they went and tied it with the field goal to send it into OT. Either way, glad my Irish won! ☘️
@@Gab-cu3oi I just looked up the rules for this after reading your comment, as I was even more confused! A forward pass is illegal if:
- the passer to conserve time throws the ball directly to the ground (1) after the ball has already touched the ground; or (2) not immediately after controlling the ball. Also illegal if the passer to conserve time or yardage throws the ball forward into an area where there is no eligible receiver.
I think the qb for FSU controlled the ball after receiving the snap, didn’t throw it into the ground immediately, and when he did throw it into the ground, did it to conserve field position with no receiver in the area.
Complex rule, so still might be missing something, but the facts seem to indicate intentional grounding. The reason I am so perplexed is the replay official, the official on the phone that had a lot of experience, plus college football announcers never even questioned intentional grounding. I’m a CPA watching the game and I of all people thought that the challenge would end up hurting the FSU team more than just letting the call stand as originally called. Thanks for the discussion @Gab
