My thoughts on the Galaxy A54 5G vs a phone like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Is an older Samsung flagship always the best option? It used to not even be close, but I think mid-range phones have done a lot to catch up and offer a few benefits that the older devices do not. It's not the slam dunk it once was, plus, for some people, it's the only option through a carrier.

I'm more of a Pixel guy myself because there's no bloat ware and no dual apps you can't delete on them. I did enjoy One UI but my S21 FE didn't have dual SIM, had quite a bit of non removable bloat ware, and the RAM management was awful. However, if Samsung were my preference on Android, it'd be a tough decision between these two phones. It does appear that Samsung improved a lot from last year's A53 to the A54 this year. You'd get much better support and battery life from the A54 but the S21 Ultra is the more flagship phone of the two. And I'm surprised that people say the snapdragon 888 runs hot because I never had any overheating except when I played a certain casino app of mine. And that app ran an iPhone XS hot and my current Pixel 6 hot too. And you gotta remember, many times it's the power intensive apps like games that will run hot and not necessarily the processor. Great comparison video!

Contrast, colour calibration, brightness etc is all superior on S21U.
Apart from extra Android updates and slightly better battery-life, the S21U is leagues ahead of Galaxy A54 in every department.
Basically, 90% of the people should get the S21U if they can get it for the same price. *Else, the Pixel 6a or even Pixel 7a would be a better buy over Galaxy A54.*

I need a perfect screen and sound. There are top tier oled screens, and low tier oleds too. Also, fit and finish, frame thickness, weight balance, overall feel...
Like... The s22 has a 120hz dynamic amoled 2x and a newer CPU. My s21u has oder CPU and also a dynamic amoled 2x screen. And guess what... The 120hz on the s21u feels faster don't know how else to say it. And the screen is much better looking. I heard the s22 line was efd. And that the s22u has better screen than the s22 but the speakers suck too. I heard them. In terms of sound it's s23u > s21u > s22u. Screen is s23u > s22u/s21u.
As for A series, like A54 and older A53/52, you can feel the micro lags, low tier oled, less smooth 120hz (don't understand why tho), and cheaper feel even in cases. Just goes to show you can't do wore a 399$ phone to 1000-1500$. They wouldnt make it the same. That's be impossible to sell.

@@ancientslav4863 Me too I like a good quality screen & sound and decent battery. Because when im at work i like to have the phone on the background watching videos youtube etc.
Reason I would lean more into the iPhone is because i’ve used it my whole life and its easy and simple for me to use.
If I was a Samsung user I would definitely use the S21 and above over the A54. Old flagships are just so much better then any kind of mid range phone.

    - for me, it's totally fine to buy an old flagship rather spend more money on midrange. Not worth it tbh. Why? Because flagship is flagship. Periodt.

This Galaxy A54 remains a real enigma for me, I can't understand how some people buy it full pot 🤔
This smartphone is worth a maximum of $250 in view of the current market, whether in North America or elsewhere🤧
Seriously, the bezels, the chin, and Above all that silver circle around the A54's selfie 🤢
Not to mention the difference in quality in photo-video (What's the point of having optical stabilization and being able to shoot in 4k, when only the FHD/30 is stabilized 🤷🏽‍♂️) and especially the difference in brightness and real quality of the screens of the S compared to the A.
Frankly, if you necessarily want Samsung, buy a refurbished S21 Plus Snapdragon or even Exynos 2100 or a OnePlus 10 or a Pixel 7, or, if there's no rush, wait for the Pixel 7a instead of this A54

I can promise you the people buying it don't care about the bezels or chin. And the A54 does the job enough with camera. All of those devices you mentioned that were new were slightly or significantly more expensive, and some people don't want to or can't go refurbished. If it's not for you, that's fine, we get it. The point is that for the people it is for, it will do the job just fine. And I've lived with it for 30 days. The thing can do the job for the money. It's a nice phone. Listening to other reviewers gripe on the internet doesn't give you a proper impression. Use it, you'd be pleased.

Id rather have a new phone for 450 dollars that will serve me for 4 years, than an old flag ship that isnt supported in 2 years. Bezels and chins.. i dont care.
Just retired my old S10 for this A54, and thats only because the S10 isnt supported anymore and the battery left something to be desired after 4 years of use.

It's a new phone, battery lasts me for a full day and a half if I don't charge it by that time... It's good, I don't much care about specs, it runs CZcams and email and Whatsapp and basically anything I use on daily basis.
I will throw it out in a year anyway.
