  • @sebastienroux6740

    The main reccurent problem of your techniques is the lack of resistance from your opponent.
    Obviously, whatever the level of the agressor is, he will always try to get away as soon as he realises that he might be defeated and brought to the police.
    I strongly suggest you to do pressure testing, first between members of the same dojo, and then try to meet people from other dojo and other martial arts.
    Don't forget that to be usable in a real fight a martial needs to be adaptive to the situation.
    One main mistake from aikidokas is the excessive trust in their capacities ( I made this mistake 40 years ago).
    Aikido is not the only martial art.

      And that's how I got my grade.

    • @user-px3yb8mn5b
      @user-px3yb8mn5b Před 3 lety

      The thing is that: something you see is not exactly what is really going on. This technique can be used when you know how to make "emptiness" (give some pressure, then sudden relief and make your move when the opponent is out of his center). If course you should have some aikido practice to realize that

    • @sebastienroux6740
      @sebastienroux6740 Před 3 lety +2

      @@user-px3yb8mn5b the thing with this kind of techniques, is that it takes a few seconds to be applied as we need to create an inner reaction from the opponent.
      Unfortunately, these few seconds are too long to be used in a real fight.
      For example, I have had the opportunity to train with Moriteru Ueshiba for a few weeks during a trip to Japan.
      Even Ueshiba Sensei needs from 2 to 3 seconds to use this kind of techniques on someone of my level.
      And surprisingly, during a fight, I will never stay gently in front of my opponent waiting for him to defeat me.
      That's why I can say this technique doesn't work.
      I know it can seem strange, but I strongly recommend any aikidoka to try for at least a month another martial, preferably MMA, BJJ or kickboxing.
      You will understand that high level does imply the use of complex moves, but instead an intelligent combination of simples, efficients and multi-tasking moves.

      First, we could consider that the aikido branch named " real aikido" coming from hungary is a real aikido as it is meant to be used on streets.
      But, we can also consider that traditional aikido is the real one.
      The thing is so many people practice a mix of overcomplicated moves coming directly from low level traditional masters.
