    The total cost of this job was $22 and 5 hours of labor, buying parts, figuring out how to get in there, modifying torx bit , But if you watch my 14 minute video you can do this in under an hour. My goal is to save you myself 100k repairing my 2011 Durango and 2014 Grand Cherokee repairs and I am half way there, more videos to come .
    Todays problem Hot Air only on passenger side.
    This is fix was discovered by me on 3/9/2024 and you will never run the risk of breaking the blend door beyond economical repair.
    I don't suggest going right to the Amazing Discovery as I was overly excited like Edison with the light bulb discovery fast forward to 5 min 45 sec and watch it through until 11 min
    I'm getting better with each video but I made so the viewer has never done this before and I walk you through it. my video is 14 minutes but it is complete I went through a lot of trouble making this

    So i have this all tore apart to the point where you got the door unstuck and the half gear to drop into the proper position. I have been going back and forth with it for a couple hours now. When i strarted the gear/door would move the wrong way now it doesn't move at all. Any advice? Is it the rubber seal getting stuck in the door channel

      I really don’t know how to explain it other than what I did in the video but it sounds like you got to get the timing right and I know that there is sometimes a delay when you choose to open different doors on your climate control. The best thing is to take the motor off Again and start playing with the controls and choosing floor and dash hot and cold and see how the motor works and if the motor is turning before you put the motor back on, make sure that door is going back-and-forth in the worst case scenario for your problem if you bought the truck used, you don’t know what the previous owner did so all these vehicles every Chrysler product challenger Durango Jeep you name it they all have the same problem, stinky AC smelly heat and people spray things down their vents like Lysol and other chemicals to try to alleviate this and there might be some that door, causing it to stickmight need to get a turkey baster. Fill it with baby powder open the doors and give that a puff in there and that’ll lubricate everything and stop the rubber that’s around blend door Might need to get a turkey baster. Fill it with baby powder open the doors and give that a puff in there and that’ll lubricate everything and stop the rubber that’s around the blend door. Without the motor connected if that blend door is moving freely back-and-forth you just have a timing issue on your actuator motor. Make sure you have the gear on correctly. There’s two ways to put it on.

    This is a great video, answering a lot of questions that have been hard to find. I currently have this exact problem and I’m stuck on removing the floor air ducts. Could you explain how to remove them?

      @@jameseiden2340 I have the same problem! Everybody goes into great detail about every other step, but nobody says anything about this step! Can someone go into a little more detail than just, "It was just a snapped together"? Everyone knows that if you yank and pull on a "snapped together" you could easily get snapped mounts, tabs, and other parts that will prevent you from putting it back together.

      This is the most easiest part and if you can’t figure this out then you need to take it to a mechanic and pay $4000 otherwise go to Harbor freight go get an interior removal set which I think is about eight dollars. It comes with a bunch of pride, tools that you stick in the cracks and crevices and everything apart. There’s no hidden screws or tape or anything like that. If you don’t see screws in it, it pops out.

    How did you remove the plastic part to get to the flap? I'm having a hard time there

      Plastic has snaps on the back. You could buy a interior removing tool from harbor frieight

      Just pull on the vent tubing that goes to the floor. It just pops off.

      Yes, you have an easy fix what you didn’t do was index the motor the right way go back to the video and look how when you’re holding the motor in your hand with the gear. Make sure you put the gear on right I show you the right way in the wrong way and then, start the car and then let it go around a couple times like once and then right when you think the gear is in the right position, unplugged the motor shut the car off and everything should be fine

    This problem seems to be everywhere but your video is the only place I found that seemed to solve it, but I can't reproduce!
    I stuck my hand in there as far as I could and poked and prodded at everything i could feel but all I really felt was what felt like a pretty weak 'fin' connected to the gear that felt like it had less torque on rotating than i could get from the outside.

    Can you remember what was happening here?

      @jameseiden2340  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, it was that part. I took the front off, took the glove box down. I took the gearbox off well actually it was busted the gear but you might have to move your motor and then you’re gonna see that piece of shaft with the little gear half of a gear on it that’s supposed to swing back-and-forth. Mine was stuck, so I had to turn the car on and move the air conditioning. The second set of blend doors that opened up allowed me to stick my hand in there and free up the door if you don’t or can’t feel it just wiggle the shaft back-and-forth forward and backward and you’ll feel it. It’ll wanna move.
