If anyone here has to sleep on their back, I have a really good tip!! Try sleeping with two fluffy pillows underneath your knees and feet. It really takes the pressure off of your lower back and helps you resist turning your head while you're sleeping :)
Oh my gosh! You just reminded me that I had a large pillow under my knees when I woke up in recovery and felt really comfortable in my propped up position, I wish I'd remembered this and tried it at home while I was struggling, thank you so much for this comment! xx
oh god, thank you! first night was bruuuuuutal
I’ll try this right now :)
Paul Brooks sameee it’s so uncomfortable
Thank you!
I cried when you cried over seeing the results for the first time. I understand not liking part of your body, and the dysmorphia that comes with it. Many don't understand what it really feels like to move forward past a major issue until they deal with one themselves. So happy to see you smiling, happy and proud of the results!
Thank you so much Alisa, it's actually taught me a valuable lesson about respecting when others aren't happy with something about their appearance, I think we just don't see it the way they do and that's not a bad thing but I do think it's important to support them when they really feel like they need to make the change for themselves, I'm glad I waited so long to have it done because I fully understood that it wasn't something I was ever going to 'come to accept', which can happen for some people but you just know when it's right and you know when you're ready, I'm so happy with my results and so much more confident! xoxo
You were always gorgeous, not just because of your face but, more importantly, because of the way you love and take care of your sweet mum. Now you can finally see it for yourself. So happy for you!
Regarding the headband, I've had many surgeries. The medical staff give blanket advice to everyone and sometimes that advice won't work for every situation. I've actually had complications because of things the doctor or nurse told me to do that wasn't right in my case and I didn't adjust it in time. Your body is great at telling you what's right for you and if it needs an adjustment to the game plan IF you know how to listen to it and are willing to go for it (within the realm of reasonable caution). You definitely did the right thing adjusting the bandage. Good job!
I'm so happy that you're happy with this and happy with how you look now. 😘
Super awesome result Hailey!!!
You look amazing. Just the fact you can whip your hair up and not be conscious is great...so happy for you x
I’ve been watching BN for a half year now as well as yours and Kat’s channels. I was strolling through your videos and came across this one (I watched part 1 first). OMG ~ I cried WITH you when you saw your new ears! Yay!! How exciting!!!!! 🙌🏼
Wow! This vlog series for Otoplasty is amazing. Felt like I was right there with you. Of course cheering you on! I appreciate you sharing all the experiences you are having. The final result, I cried too, happy for you!!! I love your ears!!! Hugs to you! Thanks again for taking us with you! :)
Thank you Selina! xoxox
So proud of you for taking this step to help you love yourself!
I finally had the time to watch this full video and I'm so happy for you Hailey ❤️ You looked beautiful on the outside before, but now you feel it from within. I'm so proud of you and so happy for your happiness. I don't think I ever cried with someone on a video, but the tears were flowing freely and I felt your happiness!!!! Good for you!!! Hope all is well and you are healing. Know that I say prayers for you 🙏🏼❤️😘
It was so great seeing how happy you were with the results. Hugs!!
You made me so happy for you when you saw your ears for the first time! i also use my travel pillow to help my ears when I sleep. I found it even works better if you use it with the curved part pointed down instead of up. It really relieves the pressure on your head and neck.
Your reaction to seeing your ears was so heartwarming! They look wonderful, and I'm glad you're feeling more confident!
Thank you Natalie xoxox
Awww Hailey the genuine emotional response to the new you was great! Thx for sharing. I'm so happy for you and I'm glad you had the courage to get the surgery done for yourself! What a lovely, lovely vlog. Congrats!!!
I’m getting this done soon but I’m super nervous but excited to see the result. Good to see you were happy with the result. :)
Aww it was so lovely to see your reaction to your new ears. You could see what it meant to you. I hate my ears too to the point that I rarely wear my hair up, particularly in public. I'd love to have them pinned back but I'm absolutely terrified of any kind of surgery and the pain after. So I'd never get it done. I admire your bravery and I'm so glad you love the results X
I'm so happy that you are feeling so wonderful with your new ears!!! You are beautiful before the procedure and you are beautiful after!
I just cried watching you crying! So happy that you are happy x
Thank you Beth! xoxo
Good for you for having a surgery that makes you feel better!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Your description of the anesthetic is spot on. I have to have IV sedation at the dentist, you don't go as deep but the feeling is the same.
It's amazing the talent of these surgeons! That's awesome!
You're adorable 💖 thanks for sharing the experience, loved your first reaction to the new ears 💖💖💖
Thank you for sharing this journey.
So happy for you, Hailey! 😀😀 Your ears look great! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you Ana!
I'm so glad to see those tears of joy ......
Thank you so much Mia! xoxox
Congratulations on a successful surgery!! Very happy to see your reaction once the bandages were removed. ❤️❤️
I had my surgery 7 days ago (had same reaction you did, because it's' all I saw). I also had issues with sleep/back/itchies/shower/dry skin/etc. It's really good to know I am not the only one that had the issues! :) Thanks for this vlog.
Hello, I was under otoplasty surgery 4 days ago.
The surgery was done under local anesthesia (I was awake) and it felt like 40 minutes, but actually there were 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Left ear was worse because i needed 3 rounds of anesthesia to stop feeling pain. I don`t want you to worry about pain because you will only feel the sting of the needle used to do the anesthesia. RIght ear was only one round and that was it.
I only felt some discomfort within 2 days after, NO pain at all, and I want to say that everybody is different and every doctor is different. It may hurt or not after the surgery but is worth the result !
I`m happy for you and have a nice one !
Make sure you wash the bandages frequently especially if you start to get breakouts.. Congrats, I'm so glad your happy with them. You made me cry a little.
So happy for you, Hailey xx
Thank you hunny xoxox
Im so happy for you. Im glad u feel better about your self
Thank you Ashley! xoxox
I am just so happy that you are so pleased!! 💙
Thank you Amy! xx
I'm getting this done a week today I cried watching your results as I fully understand I've waited for this day since i was 5 in now 24 and finally getting it done so thank you for the tips and insight I cannot wait bring it on!!!
Best of luck to you Sophie! I hope you recover smoothly and are thrilled with your results xoxo
Good for you hun what a great result :)
Thank you so so much for this wonderful vlog!! I love your new ears!! I like bawled watching you look at your ears for the first time after surgery. I'm so happy for you!! I am also happy to say that I'm getting an otoplasty as well on 12/13/17 and it is 12/4/17 and I cannot believe it is almost that time. I cannot, time has flown by and I'm so happy that I am actually getting it! Pretty nervous for the pain and the unknown of what they are going to look like. But I'm sooo excited. Thanks again for your videos. ❤️😁
💜💜💜I have never cried during one of your videos (and I'm including the makeup breakup in that too, although I've been tempted) but when I saw you cry, my heart was full... if that doesn't show the success of all you've been through I don't know what else could... you go girl! 💜💜💜
Thanks Chelle :) I still get a bit teary when I catch a glimpse of them and think about how much more confident I am with them. Best decision I ever made! xxx
I teared up when you teared up! Beautiful!
Im so glad you were finally able to get this procedure done they look great soo happy for you now flaunt those ears 👂🏻 load an proud girl!! Finally you can pull your hair up with confidence!!! Thank you for sharing this with us!!!'
Thank you Amanda! I'm so happy with them, I love pulling my hair up for no reason in particular other than I can with confidence! xoxox
Had my otoplasty done yesterday! My ears are super uncomfortable right now, but I feel like I'm on this journey with you! Thanks for sharing 😊
same here, I just got my surgery today and it sucks now but I get to see my ears tomorrow and I’m so excited
@@moonperson2007 how are your ears today ?
@@yaroslavmyhal8417 I still wear my protective headband as much as I can when I’m at home. They came out beautifully
I'm at 2 months. I'm hating it. Please tell me it gets better
So glad it went well! Looks great
Thank you Ellie xoxox
I just had my otoplasty surgery done 2 weeks ago, I know how you felt with the recovery, my head wrap was worse than yours though, mine went under my chin too, so awful lol mine were super itchy as well, there's nothing worse than having an itch you can't scratch, I had my wrap on for 7 days, it was terrible! My results came out good though, yours look great too! I understand exactly what you mean when all you saw was ears, I would hate wearing my hair up, I felt so unconfident, it's a wonderful procedure and really helps with self confidence, no one else's opinions mattered and it wasn't going to stop me from doing it! So happy for you!
Congratulations on your new ears Josie! It's such a great feeling and I completely agree, no one else's opinion matters, we do it for ourselves! xoxox
Jesus I only had my head wrap on the first night that’s crazy
From 1-10 how bad was the pain at the point that you were hurting the most
@@stavroskatsaras9761 probably like an 7, it was a dull achy pain so I kept up on my pain meds
hi, amazing results on you new ears - they look great. I am looking at getting this done would you recommend taking someone for the pre op care? How long does it take to get back to normal? And how did you manage to decide on a surgeon (am in between two surgeons price is the same)? thanks!
Congrats on your surgery!
The pain you experienced with your back is what I have dealt with almost daily for the last 7 years. It's so frustrating having to get up multiple times each night to walk around and try and give my back a rest.
I can't believe how expensive the surgery was! It's a shame it's not covered through health insurance.
I feel for you with the back pain, if I had to deal with that every night I don't think I could put up with it! Private health insurance would have covered a good portion of the cost, the hospital stay at the very least I believe and potentially some of the anaesthetist and surgeon fees
I've had the surgery done yesterday, sleeping was awful !!, thanks for the video :)
Iana Ruskova I am with you girl😵
Had it done yesterday as well
After ears surgery. when you took off the bandages. how long have you been wearing them for long? and after removing the bend, how long have you carried the tape? and is it enough only when you sleep?
its painful?
Thanks, had my procedure 6 days ago and your video has really helped - having problems with pain and bruising down my neck but hoping it will be ok. I appreciated the detail in your video. Your new ears look great! I know you recorded this several years ago now but hope you’re still happy. :)
Good luck with recovery! It can be rough at the start but you'll get there.
I'm really happy with my results, very happy that I had it done :)
@@HaileyO Thank you!!
Have just got back from the hospital here in Melbourne, thanks for this vlog!
Hope you have a speedy recovery and love your results!
Just Buy The Makeup thank you very much!
Your reaction is great! I had a similar reaction after I saw the animation of my teeth/smile after braces. I've had my braces off for almost 3 years but that was such a good feeling 😀😁
It's the best feeling!!! Congratulations on your improved smile, I think it's great that people do things just to make themselves happier and more confident :) xx
Ahh so glad it all went well for you x
So happy for you.💖
Thank you! xoxox
I'd say money well spent with how it makes you feel. Congrats Hailey!! ❤❤❤
Absolutely best $10,000 I ever spent on myself hahaha xoxox
When u cried after seeing result literally I feel it 😭 I want to do otoplasty also but due to some financial problem I am not able to do right now I will make a money after I will do it like u keep smiling always god bless you dear 👍❤️❤️
It looks so good 😊
Thank you Jo! xoxox
i’m currently in bed feeling dizzy from pain meds and hurting, but you’re video is making me feel less alone lol. thank you for this
Oh Haley I know the feeling! I'm assuming you had Otoplasty done, I can tell you it does get better, you just have to stick it out for a while :) best of luck to you!! xoxo
Im going to have the same surgery soon aahhhh I’m so exited
its not exiting , iam not gonna do surgery , iam really really really scared of it
Your ears look marvelous! Such a cutie. Now maybe BN will be graced by Hailey's new ear-flattering hairstyles, accessories, and---"Oh, excuse me! How did my ear get right in front of the camera like that?" 😁😉
金色Lapine 。 This is seriously the cutest/funniest comment ever! 😍 I just imagined a BN episode with random close-ups of her ears in between their conversation. Lol
Hahahahahaha might have to try to slip that in to an episode! xoxoxo
Great reaction. I can’t wait for that feeling when I finally get the courage to go ahead with it. I remember having laser eye surgery and being able to see without glasses and omg amazing but the ears is something else. Years of ridicule
Beautiful!
I know exactly what you mean about the codeine Hayley. I was recently prescribed some for some post baby problems/pains. They work but they're so strong that they made me feel really sick, especially if I don't get something fairly substantial to eat before taking it x
I can't sleep on my back either. If I toss & turn throughout the night while I'm sleeping & end up on my back, I literally get stuck in bed. The back pain is SO BAD that I have to have help getting up & then I have trouble standing up straight for a couple hours bc the pain lingers. It's AWFUL. I was feeling so bad for you bc I knew all to well what you were going through. It's awful.
You know, it's crazy how close those of us at home can feel to our favorite CZcams creators. When you started crying when you saw your ears, I was crying right along with you like you were my sister or best friend & I genuinely felt sooooo happy for you. I think you were gorgeous before the surgery & I think you're even more gorgeous now bc the self esteem boost for you was instant...there a few things in this life more beautiful than being able to witness someone loving themselves & feeling comfortable in their skin. Congrats Hailey. ❤️😍😘🙂
your comment has me crying again! Thank you so much :) The feeling of closeness isn't one-sided, I feel it too, when I'm filming I'm looking at a camera but in my mind it's my little family out there I'm chatting to and when comments like this pop up it just reminds me how blessed I am to have people like you watching. Much love to you Amanda! xoxox
I have mine done today… extremely happy finally it’s done, very enthusiastic about the upcoming night😎
Good luck with your recovery!
Thanks Hailey❤️Your experience is inspiring, thanks for sharing it with us…
This made me so emotional, I can only imagine the joy you felt seeing your new ears! I have a a few friends that have chosen to go overseas (Thailand I think) to get plastic surgery done. I am curious to know whether this was something you did any research into when you were deciding on a surgeon?
It did cross my mind (we all want to save money right!?!?), however I didn't have anyone to travel with who would be able to give up their time to care for me post op, my mum can't travel and I honestly don't think she would physically allow me to travel overseas for surgery without her, she's be more likely to fight me to the death hahahaha. When I decided who I wanted to do my surgery I was having a candid discussion with him about breast implants (they were sitting on his desk and he does the surgery often) and he told me that their particular clinic had dropped their breast implant surgery to $10,000 to encourage people NOT to travel overseas due to the risks which surprised me until he told me that breast surgery can be done fairly quickly in most cases and since they had a few surgeons in the clinic who had experience with that particular surgery they had the time and resources to take on the extra clients that the price drop would bring in. They opted to make this change due to the increase in clients coming in to fix botched jobs that had been done overseas. Honestly I don't think going overseas for plastic surgery is a TERRIBLE idea however I feel a lot more research is required and for me personally, aside from it being logistically difficult, it wasn't a risk I wanted to take
Hate seeing everyone getting otoplasty when I can’t have it 😭😭
I’m having my ears pinned tomorrow and I’ve watched your videos over and over because you make me less nervous
Good luck!! I hope it all goes well for you, was one of the best decisions I made and I'm really happy with my results :)
I had my surgery about 6 hours ago and I don’t feel too well and the strap I have is around my neck so I feel uncomfortable, I’ll have it off my either next week Tuesday or Wednesday
A long vlog? Hell yeah, let me grab a snack.
Going to do this in cancun for 1300$ next month. I cant wait! Awesome video. Thanks
How did this go? I'm looking into getting this done when I go to cancun also!
@@jillnorton896 went wonderfully! I wish I had done it sooner. I was awake for surgery and did not feel a thing.
I honestly thought your ears were cute as they were, but I'm so glad the surgery has made you so happy. I'm happy for you too! Xoxo
Thank you Tammy! xoxoxo
I'm 12 years old and I got this done around 7 months ago and I'm really happy with how it turned out 😁😁
did it hurt?
Same unless I got it a day ago I’m 11 btw it hurled rlly bad the first day
How are your ears doing now? Anything different now that you’re fully recovered? Any extra sensitivity or any other complications?
I’m currently wearing a head wrap rn too !! But I have to take it off tomorrow so I’ll only have it for 2 days. For how many days did u wear ur bandages?
I’m coming up on 3 weeks post op with my otoplasty! Your vlog was one of the first ones I saw when I was contemplating getting it. :) Thank you so much for sharing! I absolutely loved your reaction to your ears :)
I’m happy with mine but one of my ears isn’t healing as well and looks a little deformed. I understand that they won’t look completely normal for 6ish weeks, but it’s still a little disconcerting when I look at it, haha. I’m just curious, did you experience anything similar?
One of my ears sits a little further out than the other however that was the case before the surgery and my surgeon told me he would try to correct that but it would be difficult to get everything 100% symmetrical. I know swelling can make things look a little strange but if you're really concerned is it possible for you to get a second opinion on how they look, perhaps from another surgeon?
After ears surgery. when you took off the bandages. how long have you been wearing them for long? and after removing the bend, how long have you carried the tape? and is it enough only when you sleep?
I'm so pleased for you-your ears look amazing.
I also have the pillow thingy!!!!!
I know exactly what kind of pain you're talking about. When I get up after sleeping on my ears, yeah that hurts.
Naaaaw you are such a cutie. Looking fab chickie
Hey hayley i love you videos they always entertain me xx
I've had mine done 2 days ago. It still hurts a bit after pain killers. Can't wait to take off the bandage.
Good luck, I hope you are happy with your results!!
whats pain killers ?
@@cruelclipsy2943 medication to suppress pain.
Hi Hailey,
Beautiful ears!! :) I am about to have otoplasty and was wondering if there was any bruising and how long it took to go away if there was....also do the sutures fall out on their own or did you need them taken out? Thanks!
Hi Nick, I had a tiny bit of bruising but it was light and difficult to see, my stitches dissolved and when I visited my surgeon for my follow up appointments he would always check them and I think once or twice removed some that were holding on but didn't need to be there. Best of luck with your surgery!
Hi,i got my otoplasty done about 10 hours ago and it’s 4:00am now and I cannot even fall asleep. So how long will the pain take to go?
Im in australia and thinking of going to Thailand or Bali to get an otoplasty done. Im just wondering how long your recovery process took. Fully understand everyones different but just trying to get some idea on how long I should book the holiday sort of thing. Thanks
I think I had surgery on Friday, spent a few days in bed and then was back to part time work on Tuesday or Wednesday. You'd have to find out from your surgeon when you'd be well enough to fly though.
I had this surgery yesterday for my left ear with general anesthesia .. I have sever pain 😭😭 It is uncomfortable and I am crying .
Sameee
I got the same surgery (i'm 12 tho) it was painful, but worth it in the end
Congratulations u look beautiful I can't find a word to describe how much u look beautiful, yes they all say that I have big ears and my mum trying to convince me to raise my hair but I won't do it
Thanks for sharing, your ears look fab!! I just got my surgery done 5 days ago am still in quite a lot of pain! How are your ears now, 2 years on?! Do you have any pain and I assume you can now sleep on your side- I can’t wait to sleep on my side again! Thanks :) xx
Congrats on your surgery, hope you have a speedy recovery! I don't have any pain these days, for about 6 months after surgery I would experience some pain if I bumped them, this often happened when I hugged people and I developed a habit of holding my head away from people when I went in for a hug (but would then explain why because I felt rude not giving a proper hug lol). Also don't have any issues sleeping on my side, it does take time to heal fully but you'll get there!
Just Buy The Makeup Thanks for your reply! Have had my bandage taken off now and am very happy with the results! They just feel weird now, quite stiff and as if they are not my own ears lol. okay thank you, good to know!! I will just have to be patient haha
You look amazing!
Just a quick question if you don’t mind.
How long the swelling was visible after your procedure.
I’m trying to get my done as well but I will have only 3 weeks to recovery for my sisters wedding.
Would the swelling/bruising resolve a bit within 3 weeks?
Thank you!
Yes both swelling and bruising were minimal for me, when I had my bandages off and was ready to get back in to the swing of things no one could tell that I had even had the surgery done.
My only advice is to be careful when hugging people because they have a tendency to pull your head in quite close and press against the side of your face and it can be very painful, you don't realise how often your ears are actually touched or bumped until you've had surgery on them lol
@@HaileyO thank you!
Very much appreciated
Have a great day!
Hi Ma'am, still watching until now. Do you feel pain until now?
I need to do it really bad because i have bad ear but I’m scared. How many months you have been in pain is it worth to do plz I need a answer🙂!
May you please tell us which technique they used in your otoplasty? Did they score cartilage and use permanent sutures? Thanks for sharing this, it's v helpful as I'm thinking of having this done
Yes, cartilage was removed (more from my left ear than my right because that one protruded more) and they are held in place with permanent sutures :)
Just Buy The Makeup thank you for your reply :) my ears protrude much more than yours, so I guess I will have more pain post surgery :( Did you have any trouble opening your mouth, or eating, talking after surgery? I heard it is quite painful for some...
I spoke to my surgeon as he showed me before and after pics most looked like they had no ears after looked like the ears where stuck to the head what I don’t want but he said that’s just due to swelling and not how they will look once they have recovered is this true?
I can only sleep on my back and don't know what I will do if I ever get pregnant cos I won't be able to sleep on my back ! Fair play to you for doing something you have always wanted to do.
Karie Reilly. It's fine to sleep on your back during pregnancy! Don't worry!
Amy Bumstead really?? So many people have said to me that you can't . Now I just have to get pregnant lol
Absolutely!! I just had my second a year ago, and it was my obgyn that said as long as you are comfortable and getting some sleep, that's whats most important!! Trust your body! If it's not happy it will make you uncomfortable and you will move 💜 Please don't stress 💜
where did you get your hair band? i need this one
Tomorrow is The Big reveal in 14 hours lol counting the hours! Xx thank you and bless your ears and heart!
Had this surgery done yesterday, it’s currently 3am and I CAN NOT sleep, whenever I lay down the bandage slips and pushes my ears, they are absolutely throbbing and are so sore, I’m so exhausted but it’s too painful to lay down. I have tried different pillows and positions but it still hurts, I want to cry and have pain relief however I took some 1 hour ago so I can’t take any yet, I hate it sm, I really hope it’s worth it in the end 🤞
Hi! I had this surgery done yesterday and just curious how tight your dressing was/felt the day after ?! I just want to make sure they didn’t wrap it too tight
@@emilypluta8578 hello ! It did feel pretty tight and it had a strange feeling, As long as it’s not so tight that it hurts then I’m sure it’s ok :D I can’t remember how tight it felt exactly but I do remember it being pretty heavy. Hope all goes well (:
I used a round pillow with a hole to allow me to sleep post opp. I recommend local NOT general aesthetic.
i use the neck pillows when i get a new ear piercing so i dont sleep on it.
I just had otoplasty 2 months ago today. I hate it. I was only doing one ear and they talked me into both. I look completely different and I don't want to look at myself. He said he was doing very little and evening then up but no. These are someone else's ears and it hurts. I went back in at 2 weeks saying they were pulled too tightly and now they are "pressure" feeling. I really loved my doctor but he did local for pain. I'm beyond disappointed right now. I hear this will change more as they heal but I don't know. Help
How old are you. Yoh kinda feel like a big sister! Also... after how long can you wear your hair up
I started to get pain as soon as I was on my way home. I can barely hear with me left ear and there is always a sshhh sound on that ear. It’s been 1 1/2 day since the surgery.
I had the same exact thing, I called the doctor and they gave me a steroid, took it and it still remained. I looked up the symptoms and it could be ear occlusal from blood or the betadine leaking into the ear canal. Did you get it checked out?
I... felt no real pain and my doctor didnt put a bandage over my head... just a bandage that covers my stitches?
