I really feel like Yasuo could still SO EASILY fit his "Unforgiven" role if he saw his brother and realizes that; not only is he responsible for his death, but now partly responsible for his eternal undeath.
Yasuo is forgiven by his village, then he is forgiven by his brother, but he can now never forgive HIMSELF for turning his brother into this demon and so he runs away, too overwhelmed to be in the presence of what he assumes is his brother's eternal suffering and goes far away to try and forget... perhaps to atone.

Alternatively, now that Yone is "alive," Yasuo wants his direct forgiveness for what he did. But Yone is too busy with his -ghostbusting- Azakana-hunting and doesn't have time to worry about a little murder. If Yasuo murdering Yone doesn't matter to Yone, make that apathy _part of the story._

@@timothymclean I think it does matter, Yone just forgave Yasuo on the surface. I think yone only did this so that Azakana would not trap him, not because he wants to forgive Yasuo. Forgiving him was only to further his own goal, to hunt down the Azakana.

I think Yone having no interest in Yasuo can be kind of explained. As he is someone who has died once and was somehow pulled out of the afterlife, he might feel disconnected from the living world (without being aware of it). His only goal after getting resurrected is learning more about the azakana and eventually getting rid of his own, potentially leading to him dying again.

technically the unforgiven tag can still work Yasuo, because although Yone came back from the dead it came at cost. An Azakana is firmly attatched to Yone's face, attempting to feed off his negative emotions so it can evolve into a full demon like Tahm Kench, Fiddlesticks, or Evelyn. Yone only forgave Yasuo to free himself of negative emotions in an attempt to starve the Azakana

  • @charlesjohnson3217
    @charlesjohnson3217 Před 3 lety +165

Something Riot mentioned (I think in Yone's dev blog?) is that Yone is basically trying to convince himself that he has forgiven Yasuo, that he can put the past behind him by focusing on the whole Azakana hunting thing; implying he's basically running away from it. Of course doesn't really come across in anything they've put out aside from a couple vague voice lines, but it's at least something interesting they could explore if they actually decide to do more stories with the brothers.

    • @gabrielchasecanceladosinap3959
      @gabrielchasecanceladosinap3959 Před 2 lety +2

It would be rather interesting to explore how Yone decided to dedícate himself to the Azakana hunting thing, maybe started as angry because Yasuo murdered him in imprudence and wants to give him a lesson, but at the time he was preparing himself for hunting the Azakana in the mortal Realm, he tempers his anger into the objective of hunting all the Azakana so be could ascend to the next kingdom of the spirit realm. But once he had finded Yasuo, he started realizing that he wasn't exactly merry of his war victories. So he visits Yasuo to simply saying he is sorry just for preventing for some Akazana hunts Yasuo (since the condition of "shade sword spirit" prevents him to feel deep emotions). But Yasuo doesn't believes it, those are not autentical enought apologies, and even if they were, he thinks that Yone is an Ilussion of that old demon, a ghost that came for hunt him for his sins, and that his brother would never forgive him.
So for leaving some kind of signal to Yasuo really saw his brother, Yone gave him a large scar on his chest, and tells him that he is not strong enought or even the way of talk of the man who avanged the death of their master. So Yone tells him to go away, even away from Ionia if he has to, to defeat his own demons and become stronger, and once he has became mentally and phisically strong, he could come back and show him how strong he had become, and even if he could loose, their fight would be prove enought that Yasuo is worth of forgiveness.
So, with a great scar, the lonely samurai cast away to hunt the demon of adiction, and have a great adventure whare he will learn to strong enought to his duel (even having some friends to help him to grow)
And so, in the Sentinels of Light event, with a Yone trapped in the ruination, and a calm minded Yasuo, they fight the fight of their lives. And Yasuo not only beats his brother, he even saves Yone from the ruination.
And then. Yone who had learned how to be more human, forgives Yasuo and thanks him for saving him. And Yasuo acepts his forgiveness, and so they go back to Jonia to hunt the Azakana together, and protect their village. Together

  • @maacys3132

When it comes to why Yasuo decided to leave Ionia as soon as he found Yone I have a theory for that. Namely: Yasuo does not know Yone is back. Bear with me here. When you think about their reunion in Kin of the Stained Blade, it could very well be true. From the perspective of Yasuo, he drank a blossom tea (or so he thought at least), which is said to summon souls of the lost friends and family, after which Yone appeared and vanished right after forgiving Yasuo, leaving only spirit blossom petals behind. If I were Yasuo I would sure think that was just a vision. And Yasuo's reaction solidifies this theory for me, he just got over that scene waaay to quickly, I don't believe writers could fuck this so bad. So I really think Yasuo left becauseof that, if he knew that Yone actually came back, he would definately stay in Ionia.

So I’ve been thinking about Yasuo going to bilgewater and his remaining indicators of unresolved negative coping mechanisms (I.e. Alcoholism and possibly other behaviors)
If memory serves, Tahm Kench is in Bilgewater...the Demon of gambling, indulgence...addiction...
While I’m not going to hold out hope for any further character development for Yasuo, it would be very interesting to see him grapple with the remaining bad habits he still has after his time trying to cope with his guilt and loneliness.
Right now he’s aimless, he probably went to bilgewater with Ahri because he literally has nothing better to do and he might as well go wandering to figure out what he’s going to do with himself.
Just because he’s forgiven doesn’t mean he doesn’t have character flaws he needs to address and struggle with. Having him face down Tahm Kench, the literal demon of addiction and indulgence, as he struggles to unlearn those behaviors could be a very compelling story

@@autumnavalanche1097 In theory, taliyah learned what she needed to from him and then went off to protect her people from the as of right now, still years later immenent conflagration over the fate of Shurima, a many sided conflict with Azir and his loyalists wanting to restore the shuriman empire that had blown up in bird man's face in no small part because of his own narcasism and inability to understand the anguish his actions caused others along with Nasus, who more or less sides with Azir but mainly out of a hope to repair his broken relationship with his brother as well as the general wellbeing of shurimans in general, xerath who hates the both of them for locking him away with renekton all these years after attempting to coup Azir for his refusal to release the slaves of shurima, of which Xerath was one (although azir had intended to do this after his ascension, he didn't fucking tell anyone or just do it before he became a literal fucking God because again narcacism), Renekton who was brought to Xerath's side due to madness of the imprisonment and xerath had spent that time winning Renekton to his side or more accuratly turning him against his brother Nasus. Meanwhile in all of this, there is also the looming threat of the void, as a neighboring kingdom of Icathia had doomed itself and ripped open a massive hole into the void to try and stave off Shuriman conquest only to destroy themselves in the process. Rek'sai and her spawn are one example of that, although she seems content to hunt travelers in the desert, while Malzahar went full doomer and is actively trying to bring about the end of things, Zilean has spent his centuries trying to find a way to defeat the void once and for all, Jax is wandering the world eating eggs trying to do the same in his much less academic way, and Taliyah stands in with the rest of the common people of Shurima, anxiously awaiting what will become of them as all this fucking shit goes on around them, and hearing rumours that the long dead emporer of shurima has awoken and wondering if they might all be enslaved because of it.
All that was set up 4 years ago and they've done literally fuck all with it since it was for the release of Taliyah which was the last shuriman unles syou count Kai'sa and they've done even lessd, failing to actually pay off the obvious plot point that Kassadin is her dad and his revenge crusade against the void might either be over or have him trying to kill her.
Oh, also sivir is a bounty hunter. She was a descendent of Azir so her blood woke him up. She's still a bounty hunter. Then Rammus is just an armordillo, albeit an extremely long lived and strong one who's accumulated dmany folk tales by pure dint of his continued existence and ocasionally saving travelers from monsters, and ammumu has yet to make a friend.
I think that's all of it, none of it payed off yet besides the tiny barest development on taliyah's end this year when the shuriman expansion released for Legends of runeterra making clear that the thing she set out to do, ie find her families tribe and defend them, has in fact happened.
that last thing, that's it. She reached her destination.

What I think happened with Yasuo is not that he could help Yone in his demon hunting (which I think is way better and open for some interaction between brothers, but money and Ruined King is more important), it is the way Yasuo reacts to Yone in the Kin of the Stained Blade cinematic. As it is known, in-game interactions in LoL are not canon, making it just extra flavor; however, in the cinematic, the series of events in the point of view of Yasuo is not as literal as the spectator does. Yasuo is first "drugged" with the azakana's "tea", but Yasuo doesn't know this because he didn't even know about the spirit blossom festivals tale as something true. That's why he questions the "old man" about the tradition. The last phrase he hears before drinking the "tea" is "Sometimes, you need to search your demons", he thinks that the azakana is just an illusion, as well as Yone and his mask. Lastly, he accepts that Yone kills him to take revenge, but he never looks at Yone because he still thinks it is an illusion. When he turns around, Yone is not there and it confirms the idea that he was always on Yasuo's mind. We know that is not true, but it explains why he didn't follow his brother.

Idea, Yasuo meets him, but Yone is indifferent because his whole reason for being alive is to kill the Asakana. Yasuo follows him helping him attempting to make a solid connection with his brother. As they travel and among the little talking Yone does Yasuo realized he doesn't really want this but doesn't have much control over himself. Then Yasuo leaves for bilgewater with Ahri, in an attempt to find a way to free his brother and allow his soul to rest. And this is how he ends up in the ruined king game attempting to kill the ruined king whos controlling all the Asakana and in doing so allows his brother's soul to pass on. The reason behind Yone's soul being forced to do this in the first place is again because of his role as protector of Yasuo and Ionia.

  • @Shadowknight1224
    @Shadowknight1224 Před 3 lety +123

I really liked this video and how it covers the main disappointment I had with Yone's otherwise really good release. And it's such a shame, because I feel like they could've easily ended up with the same ending but in a much better way by just adding 20 extra seconds after the big fight scene with the azakana. Instead of Yone disappearing, the scene fades to black and we cut to Yasuo and Yone having ceremonial tea, and they say something like "It was good to be able to talk about everything" and then Yasuo wants to pledge himself to Yone's azakana cause to atone for what he has done, but then Yone tells him that he needs something that can only be found in the Shadow Isles (maybe the Blade of the Ruined King?), but Yone himself is still not strong enough to leave Ionia.
So Yasuo still ends up on the boat to the Shadow Isles for the Ruined King game, and he's still a wandering ronin, but now his character progression is about making up for killing Yone by facing the horrors of the Shadow Isles, and when he returns, to fight by his side (and then they *both* become wandering ronins, helping people across Ionia). That would've covered everything Riot wanted out of the two brothers while giving both a much more satisfying resolution to their lore and relationship.

      Maybe sth like:
      Yasuo: "Have your revenge brother"
Yone: "Maybe you deserve death. But not by my hand"
      (fanfic part)
Y: I am one who took your life Yone, that sin cannot ever be forgiven!(disbelief since he expected to have his debt paid in honorable death)
Y1: Truth it might be, however it is not a part of my concern now. Besides, I know you did not commit it out of hatred, but desperation of threat, being killed by your kin, who mistakenly accused you of murder(understanding).
Y: But I will never forgive myself, for what I've done to you...*sheds tears*(Point for a character to still be Unforgiven...by himself) What happend to you brother? How are you standing here before me, when I have burried you years ago.
Then cut's off to explanation and maybe hugs & tears(from Yasuo maybe at least, I don't know if Yone can even in whole mask or at all since he was dead).
Then talk about why Yasuo cannot join Yone's mission/maybe promise to meet again when Ionia will be more free of azakana. Proposition to find some self-redemtion in saving others or sth like this that could potentialy explain ANY LORE REASON FOR YASUO TO GO TO THE Freaking BILGEWATER.

I kind of prefer the direction they took with Yone. When I first saw the murmurings of him being a character I assumed he was just going to be angry and want revenge on Yasuo for killing him, so maybe I'm still just happy that we didn't get the cliche "wait I didn't really die and now I want revenge" plot.
The way I interpreted the story is Yone is still dead. All the things that once mattered to him died the moment he was revived, almost leaving him a different person with only echos of who he used to be. In their animation I think Yone was more concerned about killing the Azakana then Yasuo himself, while he was there Yone decided to basically say "dude I died, get over it already." Which was the last step Yasuo needed to move on from killing him, now he's finally at peace with his brothers death.
I kind of like the way they did it because I'm not the biggest fan of revival plots because it usually undoes the a lot of the weight of a death. So I enjoy that Yone is a revenant that can recall his former life, but doesn't shit about it anymore because he already lived it. And Yasuo doesn't get to have his brother back suddenly, so the loss of his brother is still big part of his character, now it's just in a previous chapter.

Ahri said she needed a bodyguard. Yasuo's only reason to stay was his brother and since there hadn't been a spirit blossom festival in a while he couldn't seek forgiveness. He now has his forgiveness and yasuo has no more use for a country that has condemned him and looks down on him. So he's going anywhere else and ahri happened to need a bodyguard.
Also it would be kind of dumb to hang on it instead of making Yone his own character, and the older brother would be the one to put his past behind him for the greater good.

Regarding lore weirdly the character Yone came up first then they designed a kit and story around him. I recommend watching Riot Blaustoise’s video him and Riot Endless Pillows talk about Yone’s development. Also regarding visuals I do wish they looked more similar to each other and I’m also confused to why Yone lost his beard he’d look way cooler with it.

I usually agree with your video, but... In the cinematic, it is in my opinion heavily implied, that Yasuo did not forgive himself. Contrary to that, he even asks Yone to kill him. The point is, that he travels outside of Ionia, because he realised, he cannot forgive himself on the same lands where his brother infused with azakana walks. And I think he was probably a bit manipulated by Ahri, Who had a similar thought process And who is also haunted by her past. Also I feel that Yone not giving crap about Yasuo is also a part of Yasuos ark of bot understanding how he can forgive DEATH so easily. So I view it rather positively... although I still don't agree with Riot starting a precedens of resurecting characters sacrificed to void (Kai'Sa), with stolen soul (Senna) or outright killed by sword (Yone).
Besides that, still pretty neat video and I still love your work T B Skyen

So like he did so many years ago, he runs.

Yasuo does say "a drink rarely gets me out of trouble" in kin of the stained blade, maybe subtly implying he's since moved past his old habits? Ironic since the drink he then has is drugged or whatever by the old man azakana.
Watching this makes me think how tf and graves are kinda in a similar boat (pun intended). Since Graves was created entirely to chase down TF and now he has and they've made up... what are they doing with themselves? What's their role in the world? Although this would depend on Riot changing Yasuo's character aesthetic, it could be interesting to see Yasuo and Yone switch roles as they come to terms with the past. If Yone is becoming a wandering hunter, seperate from the world, then Yasuo is turning towards being bound by duty and protection. The story being told that would involve both brothers would be the parity created between their mirrored character arcs, regardless of them actually interacting.

So far only the only things Yasuo has left to do are come back from Bilgewater to help fight in the battle that was shone in Awaken, which is more then likely one of the battles that takes place in the traded Second Noxian Invasion of Ionia. Heavily doubt it’s the first battle, which people for some reason think it is.
As for Yone’s future, I think inevitably he will end up working with the Kinkou, specifically Shen, to deal with the growing azakana problem in Ionia. He still also has to figure out what to do with the mask that’s still stuck to him too.
Ultimately this second war that I brought up earlier is going to be the rallying point for most, if not all, of the Ionian characters and their stories. So if Yasuo returns and Yone decides that he either needs to put the demon hunt on pause or finishes his quest so now decided to help in the material, they can then meet again and interact further. Now when or if this will actually happen....no idea. But the potential is there.

I know I’m super late to this video and you might never see this comment but I just wanted to point out that I think there’s definitely something interesting worth exploring in the dynamic of these two brothers being reunited but never being able to connect the way they used to and how yasuo can’t even bear to be near yone anymore because he’s nothing like the brother he used to know but some seemingly vengeful shambling corpse of what his brother used to be although they missed the mark on this opportunity as well. It’s just unfortunate that there’s a lot of angst worth working through but the layout of the moba storytelling and need to commodify every aspect of their characters from writing to design doesn’t allow them to explore these nuances as gracefully as they could

Yone has found a conflict that threatens all of Ionia instead of just his personal being and village, and Yasuo got to meet face to face with the embodiment of his crimes and be told, he needs a new reason to live. All while doing what you wanted, kicking a demons ass together. Yasuo, as shown by the end of their cinematic together, wanted to cling onto that relationship, but he accepted his brother has moved on, and is now looking for something new. It's character development not to be doting on the same relationship and dynamic seven years running, we finally have something new for Yasuo and a whole new character to explore in Yone. How is that at all bad?

There was no explicit forgiveness or acceptance, and I think they are saving this for a future conflict down the road.

I have an idea for how Yone and Yasuo stories could have play out better or at least made more sense; while still keeping with the the trajectory of having Yasuo in the new Ruined King game.
It starts with the same song and dance of MORE LORE STORIES RIOT! In where we have a story about Yasuo finding the old man/demon guy from the video and agrees to escort him to the Spirit Blossom Festival. Over the journey Yasuo depression grows from the old man's influence and Yone begins to hunt them. All the while thinking that the azkana/demon is Yasuo, his own brother. Only we don't know this as the whole story is from Yasuo point of view.
The next story would be the Kin of a Stained Blade video. In where Yone and Yasuo confront one another. They defeat the demon and then we get Yone's point of view from the early story. Blah blah Spirit Blossom blah blah event.
This event would be followed by another Yasuo story, in where the table is flip now its Yasuo chasing Yone. They have a few fights and nearly kill each a few times. You know normally angst siblings fights, blah blah blah anime bullshit.
This whole thing would then end with a drunk Yasuo tell all of this to Ahri who may or may not tell Yasuo about the Sentinals in Blidge Water and if he agrees to be her body guard over the trip, she might just introduce them to him. Them maybe they can tell how to save his brother. Hhhmmm.
And that's how Yasuo get to Blidge Water.

Possible way to fix the issue of "if they are being separated why even choose to make him his brother" and the "why is he even wandering anymore" thing. Is have Yone not care anymore (because dead/sees the bigger picture/ seaking the truth of what he is/whatever) and have his brother try and chase after him, because he lost him already and he refuses to do so again yet because(dead/deamon powers/whatever) Yone is always just ahead and he justcan'tcatchup to him for long. Or better if you just want them together again, have them join forces so he can help his brother hunt down the demons(after all we see how good they are as a team at doing it). Heck if you still want him to go to bilgewater just have Yone's quest lead him there

I was so excited for Yone when it was announce, I was so ready to see what kind of relationship Riot will put them through; Is Yone in peace with Yasuo? is Yasuo going to accept the forgiveness of his brother? Are they going to fight one more time? is Yone going to be distant and uninterested in Yasuo?
But then... we got him and I just feel... disappointed and I felt like Yone was so rushed if you compare him with Senna. They were both characters that Riot probably never thought in the beginning they would become champions, and althou Senna's comming back story wasn't as good as Yone in my opinion you could see that Riot put thought in the "consequences", they give and modify Lucian's voicelines and I believe a little bit of Thresh because now Lucian has his wife back but they are now focus on stopping the black mist.
But with Yone? no new voice lines for Yasuo (correct me if I'm wrong), the animation was great but at the end... it's just kinda stops... we don't get reaction for Yasuo or Yone after meeting again... you know, when Yasuo finally release that *it was his brother*, he help him not die and forgive him, but no, let's just close this up with Ahri on the boat.
After everything I would have prefer that Yone and his Azakana merge in some way, but Yone isn't really Yone... yes, he can give his forgiveness to his brother and be distant and not wanting to be near Yasuo or care about him because he knows he has Yone shape and body, even memories... but he isn't Yone, he is part azakana and part echo of once was Yone, the brother Yasuo loved and killed is completly dead.
Sorry for the long text but I was really really exicted for Yone and the new lore... and I ended up just... disappointed.

I don’t think bringing yone back ruins the yasuo story, it’s kinda like genji and hanzo in my mind. the guilt is still there and it’s arguably more present because how deformed their brothers turned out. i also think him leaving after yone dies works because he doesn’t think he can regain his relationship with yone and being close with him hurts more than him not being there. it’s definitely a survivor’s guilt thing and even though it’s obviously just so they can put him in the ruined king game and as cool as having yasuo and yone fight demons together in a supernatural sort of thing would be, i can understand how the yasuo’s trauma could cause him to feel the need to leave.
also, they can easily have him go back to ionia after the ruined king game because he will feel like he is ready to atone for what he did and maybe rebuild his relationship with his brother. the shock of his brother still being alive could very much be more intense than the trauma from killing him and being in mourning this whole time.

  • @jacksonandrew8920
    @jacksonandrew8920 Před 3 lety +2

I do want to point out though in tales of the broken blade yasuo’s azakana of grief is quite literally killed by Yone. What this means for yasuo is that he no longer feels this guilt but since this defines him for so long he might be having a mid life crisis where he no longer knows what to do with his life. Which makes the “Oh, hot fox lady wants me to be her bodyguard? Seems legit” explanation make a little more sense.

    • @TBSkyen
      @TBSkyen  Před 3 lety +3

That's not *quite* accurate - the Azakana was absolutely feeding on Yasuo and making him spiral deeper and deeper into guilt, but in slaying it, Yone didn't free Yasuo from his guilt wholesale, just from the demon making it worse. As Yasuo's own lore on Universe says: "With nothing left for him in the First Lands, Yasuo has embarked on a new adventure, though he knows not where it will lead, his sense of guilt the only thing weighing down the free wind."
He still feels guilt for the deaths of Elder Souma and Yone, despite everything that's happened (which, again, begs the question of why on Earth his reaction to his brother's return isn't more "PLEASE STAY WITH ME DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN" but I digress) and in the cinematic, Ahri vaguely implies that he might find something he needs in Bilgewater, i.e. peace or a new purpose or self-forgiveness or w/e.
Which, again, demon-hunting with your dead brother seems like a pretty cool new purpose and a way to find absolution for past sins and it would have been super rad but hjfhgkdjfgh hope the ruined king game is good

Thank you for putting into words what bothered me about Yone's release. Being completely honest I'm not one for negativity and I love Yone as he is, but either way I did want to see you talk about the brothers their designs and especially animations since Yone moves so excellently in my opinion. But it was good to finally hear in concrete words what that nagging feeling I had was, being a lore nerd I had issues with their relationship that I didn't know how to articulate, so this video really did help. While I do love the azakana and the demon hunter stuff (and also making Yone's sorta revival a mystery was honestly kinda clever) it's true I was really saddened we wouldn't see of the brothers together, and I definitely felt weirded out by such efforts to separate them. While I'm so happy with what we got, I can definitely agree to being dissapointed in knowing what could've been, and worse is that I'm not sure if they can correct it (or if they even want to). The lore being this way is a bummer for one such as me that focuses so much on it, and it was so close to being perfect in a certain way, despite those stumbles and weird stuff I very much really like Yone

After playing a game with Yone I had a few additional thoughts, mainly that what was said in the video is what most bothers me about him, he feels too separate from his past and that indeed it wouldn't matter if he was Yone or not. Though it has been stated that been Yone's focus on the now and not the before is him being in the wrong, that his past is indeed the key he needs for his future, so at least that's something. As I said, I'm still super happy with him and I love him and think he's so cool but they definitely could've handled it better

Skyen, you would love Brenvar - The Chained Glacier, some fanmade concept that went pretty viral on reddit. You should check it out. It already looks way better than half of what Riot did in the last year. *cough cough* Kai'Sa

They could have made the Unforgiven title be like, that past that haunts him fed already so many azakana to full Demons, he cannot forgive himself in that way, killing his brother feeding demons with that happening.
I like the Idea of Yasuo going Ghostbusting with Yone but I think Yasuo could only see the Azakana because it was his own, and he wanted Yasuo to see him. I've red that Yone can see Azakana's thanks to his Mask.

me during the yasuo lore part, assuming too much: omg yone sounds so cool i might try playing him, love the concept of a guy coming back from the dead to haunt and take revenge on his murderer brother
me during the yone lore part: oh...

This may be one of the only times I have ever had any significant disagreement with you. Over dozens of videos.
To me, yasuo's decision to just f*** right out of Ionia makes perfect sense. Because everything that created his entire personality hinged on those two pivotal moments. And the relief of his name being cleared, honestly would just add more weight to the guilt of him killing his own brother. You stop processing things correctly and you stop addressing things correctly when that level of trauma happens. Spending years wandering only to suddenly run into some manifestation of your brother's existence... The weight of guilt after having it compounded for years, and then having it carry the additional weight of knowing that he is still a murderer... It does not matter that his name is cleared, because he knows that he is still the terrible person he was accused of being. He has to hate himself even more to offset that relief. He is not mentally well, and cannot be expected to perform as anyone that is mentally well is.
If he is not ready to face down that guilt and address it with the person that he bears it against, and knowing that his brother will forever be tied to Ionia, leave me to believe that makes perfect sense for him to say, "f*** this I'm out. I'm not ready for this. Too much trauma."
But I'm only halfway through the video, so who knows. This might all get addressed.

i don't really agree with your assessment of yone's charac design, espcially with how you presented yasuo.
to me, it seems like yone's chara design is actually mirrorring yas somewhat: think about it. they both now wear light equipment and scars of someone who's endured their share of battle, and have a more "rough bad boy" look to them, albeit for different reasons. aside from a similar "feel" in their Lone Wanderer ronin looks, Yasuo and Yone's sword are still somewhat of a connection, since they are looking similar as ornated katanas with wind/wing patterns (not that much i'll admit but i think it also plays in their relationship)
if anything, it shows that both brothers have come a long way since their duels, and their old grudges and relationship no longer holds a real weight to them. but despite how much they changed, they're still brothers and love eachother, even if things will never be the same.
i do agree with your point that bringing yone back and doing almost nothing with yasuo and him is kind of a letdown, but i do belive there is more going on with the 0/10 brothers that meets the eye. while the character arc and plot that we're shown is weird, maybe, just maybe, it could turn out to be something worthwile.
anywyas, pretty neat vid and all. hope i won't miss the premiere next time o/

I see a world in which there is a huge event coming with the ruined king game. This could also mean, yone somehow travels to bilgewater and safes yasuo from whatever the heck they have planned. Though maybe not. Only saw necrits video, and this thing seems to become a huge thing next year for lore-progression.

Didn't they explain that Yone's kit is the exact opposite of what you described? IIRC they talked about how they knew they were making Yone and went into how they went to lengths to make sure he was "like Yasuo, but different".

I know nothing of lol. But why does the animation in the background look like koike’s lupin? Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees the resemblance.
Edit: I think it’s the line art and sideburns. I think that’s what’s so familiar.

Imagine how much mroe sense Yone's design could have mad if they clothed his torso and tied his hair up, maybe add symmetrical demon shoulder pieces as contrast to Yasuo. Instead we get a completely different character with Yone's name stapled onto it...

I think looking for a reason why he should leave is the wrong way to look at it.
Because he doesn't have a reason to stay. He hasn't forgiven himself yet and Ionia doesn't have anything to offer for him. Maybe the world can help him

This is almost the same as Genji and Hanzo from Overwatch, they're dynamic differs than Yore and Yasou in that their 1. Genji and Hanzo are full brothers, 2. The death is the other way around. (Older killing younger) It's funny that the dynamic between the two sibling pairs is blood and death. Maybe it's because this trope is so common or this two may have inspired the dynamic between Genji and Hanzo.
