I mean we have necrit but i must admit tbskyen reading lore like bedtime stories is pretty cool
Ngl, I'd read a romance novel about Lissandra finding and working together with Zilean, someone who shares her burden and knowledge of the void, to find another way to defeat the void and finding that she finally has someone with her to take on the loneliness that comes with basically turning yourself into an ageless god. The ending could conclude with them saving the world by "freezing" themselves in time together, looping black ice from never melting and acting as an indestructible barrier to keep the void locked away for eternity - the "hero", Zilean, and the "villain", Lissandra, trapped together in unmelting ice but conversing in the land of dreams forever, finally with someone who will never leave them.

And then thousands and thousands of years passes by, and a very curious mage finds the frozen tomb stuck in time, accidentally breaking the spell and without a clue what he has unleashed
The void would break the ice but Zilean and Lissandra would still he trapped, making his journey to learn how to break that spell in order to get their help to undo the end of the world, again

lissandra's animations are my fav shes so serene when she moves and the way she extends her hands out makes it feel like she longing for something
Honestly the best, it reminds me of charlize theron in an interview for snow white saying how to walk like a (evil) queen is from the core back straight eyes forward thinking "murder"
I will also say, her run animation where she leans forward like that gives her the effect of a ship's figurehead

Never played LoL, didn't know anything about the game before these videos... but I've binged almost every single one of them and all of the shorts.
Idk what it is, man. You just make good content.
Yeah, as bad of a reputation lol has given by it's own players, for this and that, the lore is just so fucking good, it's crazy immersive and everytime you learn another story, another bit of insight you understand a little more about runeterra and the timeline, it's super awesome and i wish riot would make more events about the lore, and not so much the disconnected events that happen in an alternate universe or parallel to runeterra. (KDA, PROJECT, maybe Spirit Blossom is a little more connected, and the ruination is too, but some events are like, just, there)
the game may be trash but it has definitely one of the best lores in video game history, the way they shaped the world and built the champions around it is amazing.
If it makes you feel better, TBSkyen doesn't play league either lol. He just enjoys the lore and plays the card games I think. The lore is just very interesting and the countless design strengths and flaws are just very fun to discuss

Following this channel over the years REALLY gave me a large amount of appreciation for Lissandra as a character. She has to be one of the most fleshed out characters in the League lore overall, and I LOVE how she's a bit like the MCU Thanos: clearly mad, insane and a villain, BUT you can kinda see where they come from. Doesn't mean you agree with their conclusion, but the story of the universe they're each respectively in, does make it seem like their extreme measures might be wrong, but not necessarily bad in the big picture. I hope I didn't butcher the argument through poor wording, I just like that Riot did MCU Thanos before the MCU did MCU Thanos.
I find it interesting how her shoulder guards look similar to those of Bel'veth and also how her headpiece sort-of mimics Bel'veths true face. Its like her contact with and derivation of Power from the void either left a memory of her form within the void to later create Bel'veth from... or that her Outfit developed that way because she tapped into the parts of the void that later birthed Bel'veth.

One way they could do her story is by ultimately having Lissandra turn on the watchers. How? well, Nunu. she becomes a surrogate mother to him and tries to manipulate him for his powers, but slowly does grow a connection to the boy. During the final battle when she is about to win Nunu is somehow able to show her hope and she gives her life to stop the watchers. It works for her story and Nunu because that what we are told of Nunu's power, hope, He shows there is a brighter future despite all the darkness.
She already betrayed them. Hence them being frozen. She’s just doesn’t believe they can be truly stopped
I think she is such a great character: lore, visual design and her gameplay (although she needs some kind of resistances for her kind of gameplay).
Before lissandra got her minireworks I thought her passive should be a shield. But the thralls are really cool. And the healing on her ult helps alot.
Maybe they could put something on e since it has a really long cooldown and if she's using it she's either already in trouble or putting herself there.
But her biggest problem is she just has too much CC. Riot can't balance battlemages at all. That's why most of them have fallen completely off people's radar.
If they're strong they're terrible to deal with. Which is why most have been tweaked to be more like burst mages. This is also why riot does not want to make a class of ap bruiser items. Because it took them years to be able to balance riven, pantheon, darius, Fiora, ect so that they couldn't do a million damage and cc you and be unkillable.
People forget that part of the reason the black cleaver meta was so terrible was because bruisers were already running over the meta.
Riot has not wanted to go through the same trial and error for mages that are supposed to behave more like bruisers than burst mages.
And I can't blame them. Not only would vlad and morde be completely busted but proplay also tends to abuse battlemages whenever they're remotely able to work in the meta.
I think if they took her thralls away to add resistances they'd make sense. Or a passive that you can choose based on what you're building. A resistance-granting shield or the thralls. Could be a cool idea to be able to choose your passive as you wish to play her either as a full engage burst mage or a cc heavy initiator battlemage

@@raistlinmajere1000 true. That'd ensure that even if she ults an enemy she's not bursted down immediately.
If I may, I find it incredibly symbolic that Lyssandra lost her sight, and her main character trait is her inability to see the hope-filled path regarding the future. Also, the ice that makes up her sort of glacier-pedestal is black ice. Which is the "silent and deadly" ice in regards to accidents and harm.
The story of Lissandra's sacrifice had me in tears, not gonna lie

this was an interesting episode, as so much of the Freljord that we see commonly is through champions like Ashe, Braum, and Sejuani who give a very different take on the area than Lissandra does. We see not the warmth of hearth fires and the bonds of tribes, but the cold and calculated separation that she creates between herself and everyone else.
Skyen, can you PLEASE not make me cry again over a fictional ice witch. Thank you very much. Excellent video, now I gotta buy more tissues because I'm out of them thanks to you.
The self sacrifice ending is a little trite but you just know that the animation would be absolutely epic
I am honestly so glad we got Legends of Runeterra, without it it would be so difficult to visualize some of the most important aspects of the lore.
I love the redesign of Lissandra . Also oh boy that future speculations part is the best thing you added to your videos ( was kinda hoping you could've done that with Viego and Gwen or on the ruination arc as a whole and maybe qiyana or the lore of ixtal and there conflict with piltover ) your idea of Lissandra sacrificing herself and finding peace sent chills down my spine ( no pun intended) my eyes were about to get watery keep up good work😃👍

Skyen, I hope you know that when you described the moment Lissandra sacrifices herself and feels the hands of her sisters on her back, I had tears in my eyes. Family showing up in your last moments has always been a weakness of mine.

okay, lissandrais oneof my favorite champions in like every way, story, character, aestectic, gameplay, just everything. And let me just say the "backless" dress idea should ABSOLUTELY be done. i understand why companies especially big corporations dont take ideasfom the community very often if ever. and as much as I prefer your and subjectivlies & many others designs and ideasfor league champs ive resighnedmyselef to knowing none will really ever be implemented. BUT OMG the backless dress idea should be. In the sameway they did a cute little update to ashe and chanedsome voice lines and "responded to you" lol, they should do a tiny model update for her in which they make that small change. Anyways keep up the amazing work Skyen!
Well, after the ruined king saga this year, riot might start a void saga and maybe we see some kind of close to Lissandra story

doubt it. the void is like the main main story where its spread all over the place, and you get hints and glimpses of it here and there, but we gon wait a long as time before the story gets concluded. afterall the first obvious glimps was with the lore retcons and targon where aurelion sol himself needed to use his ult in lore to destroy (pantheon fck that old point and click spear chugging dude, and) a rift from the void that showed a being that might be as strong as the star forger himself.
nonetheless it will be interresting to see how the struggles against the void keep unraveling in the story.
Her amazing depth comes with time and a very strong motif. Most characters in League aren't lucky enough to own them. I wish all the demigods can get their own motifs fixed later on, especially Anivia and Ornn. I'm not worried about Udyr, since he already has a lot of potential.
Before Jinx and Vi at arcane, I really hope the freljord sisters and gods gain an animated history

I don't know if it's just me that gets the feeling of kinship towards some champions but since she came out, I've loved her lore, her design, her statuesque figure, the power she exudes. It's beautiful.
Perhaps it's the gay in me; the cliché of being attracted to to strong, powererful, beautiful women.

imagine if the idea of the "grand alliance ending" was one of the raids in the mmo where we play as people in the immense army attacking the watchers with characters surrounding us on the battlefield and then lissandra sacrificing/ doing something to end the final encounter.

Okay, if the self sacrifice ending happened it’d be dope if Lisandra became an actual statue of ice but this time she wouldn’t be a passive observer but instead an active protector.
Plus we get a dope statue dedicated to her memory so it’s a win all around.

man, the true highlights of these videos are the way you narrate the lore and seeing how and why it works with the character design, wether its seraphine and what she could be, or gwens reading as a royal oc, your content is really insane and i wish you'd get much more attention in this channel, this video is incredible and one of your best videos to this day in my opinion

As much as I agree with the open back style, try as I might I can't see other style of sexualization better than showing her legs.
Not a lot, not in a mini-skirt or anything, but with a thigh cut on her long gown-like dress. I think there's a good potential of being a little bit more direct with her confidence and power motif, and also adding a little bit more movement to her model. And I am, indeed, taking into account the statuesque monument-feel of her appearance. Her movements could still be a little stiff even with a sign of a leg showing, she won't be doing leg swipes or a can can dance with it. One advantage I can see on the backless dress is the fact that it's being hidden with her long braid, which is an awesome symbol of "she's vulnerable but keeps hiding it".
In the end, I'll admit most of this argument is a "I 'think' this is better" without a good defense, but also I want to point out that it would be really cool if there was a hint of a black ice stiletto shoewear if one of her legs was exposed. Maybe this goes into a "step on me" feeling, maybe not. But it's a good thought.
The problem with showing her legs would be that she would have to move them to move or it would look weird, hiding her legs and making her move kind off "sliding" she has a more unnatural appearance

Can already imagine Zilean's pov of sudden cold approaching where he resides, a towering woman of ice approaching like a glacier within the desert threateningly, only for a translator to greet alongside Lissandra to tell that despite her appearance and everything, she was there because she knew what Zilean was out there for, and wished to assist in holding back the demise coming from Icathia, even if it is more for her own hopes for a redemption, to make all her actions have not been for naught
The happy redemption ending for Lissandra would be great in my book but I am a sucker for redemption stories for anti-villains.

I think the blind motif in comparison with Zilean is very potent. She is literally blind to the hope that still lies within what appears to be a bleak future. Although her dreams are fraught with nightmares, it's a personal choice to seek out the light or not. It may explain why she's made these decisions, but it does not excuse her choices regardless.
Edit: she also reminds me a little bit of the Bloodbourne designs, small head, long neck and limbs.
