Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation created by a device called a magnetron. The metal in the walls and door of a microwave oven are safety measures. They keep the microwaves from escaping and cooking other objects, such as YOU!

I think it was in medieval France there was a torture method where you would soak the person's feet in salt water for eh a while, then once they were nice and salty they would flip the chair and let goats (Whom loved their salty treat and would just keep going and going) lick away!
