Bee fact: while bees will die immediately after stinging a human, this is not the case for most other animals that could threaten a hive. Human skin is just freakishly stretchy for a land vertebrate, and their stingers get stuck, so bees don't actually defend their hives with intentional kamikaze attacks
As a bee I can confirm. I'm currently dead.

This game is scientifically accurate in so many ways- the dancing, all worker bees being female, communicating in English, and getting into battles with wasps
I am a bee and I can confirm this
If all worker bees are female, what do the men do? I know they like implode during sex but surely there's more before then
@@shaniaking5916 According to the first site that came up when I googled it (don't want to share links in a youtube comment), it varies between species.
The example the article gave were:
Honeybee drones only really exist for mating and will gather and wait in special areas until a queen comes around (if they don't manage to mate and thus survive until late fall, they will be driven out of the hive to safe food), bumblebee drones leave their home nest and live solitary lives and male carpenter bees actually help defend the nest.
Also male bees apparently don't have stingers.

@@19darkwolfangel99 according to all known laws of aviation-

Shitface is, indeed, a girl! Nearly all bees are female - the only male bees are drones... interesting bee facts for you! Bees have a very interesting structure to their society and the drones don't serve a purpose to the hive other than reproducing, so the female worker bees kick them out eventually. 🤣
Yeahhhh, wintertime especially 👀
And they actually do dance to tell eachother directions - the wiggle dance
Imagine asking someone for directions and they suddenly get down and give a sick dance performance.
Are the drones children of the queen???
Another interesting fact regarding bees is that they can only sting once. When they sting their stinger along with the attached venom sack, is ripped from their body and remains stuck in the victim continuously pumping venom. The bee dies.
"This sounds like a feckin' cult."
So all bees are in a cult basically? Is that what you're saying, Kevin?
I mean, the males work tirelessly all day and night, pollenating, doing honey-related activities, serving and protecting the one chick. Sounds like a cult to me. A simp cult. Oh god, it's like OnlyFans. Wow, that went in a direction that I apologize for.
@@JSainte17 wdym? all worker bees are female. The males don't have a stinger and don't collect pollen nor nectar. They can't eat without the help of the workers. The males die right after they mate, so they dedicate their entire life to mating once.

Ah, yes. As a straight white male, I too, feel called out by the bee agenda
Clearly this game was made as a one-person-project by a bee enthusiast to share their excitement about them with the world, and I love it for that. It may have a whacky combat system, random-ass story and bland gameplay, but I adore the attempt to cram as much bee knowledge as possible into a little game like this, with funny synchro and a moral in the end.
Interestingly enough, bees actually dance to give other bees a direction of where they got their pollen from. Karl Von Frisch was the one who first noticed this beehavior iirc.
Hagrid
but that's about it what this game got right in terms of realism. Combo stinging and 1v1 fights that would never end good for the bee, what a joke calling it a simulator.
@@martinmalenak366 To be fair, I don't think a combat system where you get to make one attack and then automatically die would make for a particularly enjoyable game.
@@GlaurungTheGreat I agree, but I'd preffer not having a combat ystem at all. This game could be a lot better if there was stealth involved, or some mechanics that allows you to avoid danger, not be a unstoppable juggernaut bee, fi they wanna call it a simulator.

Adore that this game includes details such as bees getting drunk off fermented apples and the bee oven
Right?? I was hoping I wasn't the only one that caught these!
Yet they couldn't get it right that bees collect nectar, not pollen. Why the fuck would a bee want pollen?
Real bees do actually communicate through dancing and they defend their homes against hornets by swarming into a ball around the hornet and vibrating their wing muscles to generate heat and roast the hornet alive.
Hagrid..
@@hagrid3348 Ooo, two .. that's exotic for you!
Only Asian honeybees do the "balling" attack, and it's only towards giant hornets, or queens they don't like. Other bees do not use that attack, and most other hornets aren't worth using a special attack on.

1:20 I love how they call honey bees "natural pollinators" despite the fact that those Bees are invasive to the majority of the planet, and have replaced the species that used to pollinate the plants they do now.
Just honey bees, not other bees. Still, their choice of bee was terrible, a bumblebee or carpenter bee trying to survive in a park in the middle of the city would be much more dramatic and interesting. Instead, they chose invasive feral livestock.
Glad you edited that.
I’ve been stung by wasps a number of times, always while minding my own business, but bees have never hurt me. I guess they can sense how much I love them. Every bee I’ve ever held (usually after reading them from a pool of water or off the sidewalk) has actively refused to leave my hand/finger until I give them a little nudge onto whatever plant I’m trying to let them go on. 😅
Bees seem to like me too. I was stung once but was a long time ago and Bees haven't stung me since then
This Game might be weird. But It has quite a charming side, like its trying to raise awareness on bees at least
but most information in it is kinda wrong :/ honeybees are native to Europe, they don't do much for the environment in other places where they are introduced, they're only important for some farms and stuff. Honeybees are literally livestock, and get all the attention of big "conservation projects" away from the other bees that are actually endangered
@@thea_kober all bees are endangered dude and yeah we'd be in big trouble if we didn't have have bees around

@@andrewwebb3431 I would say in that case "lost" is the one with the weird pronunciation. In fact it's mainly Americans that use the so-called father-vowel (ah) for "o". British accents will usually say a proper "o" sound.
Favorite bee fact: Bees have a coping mechanism for stress.
When a beekeeper takes away large amounts of honey (and kills a few bees in the process), bees will start grooming themselves. There is no physiological reason to groom oneself in this situation, but there would be a psychological reason. Most mammals do this (like humans) and it's a sign of consciousness(since only when there is a consciousness, there would be a need to calm down). I find it highly fascinating that there is a insect with a sign of consciousness.
If a beekeeper is killing their bees, they’re a shite beekeeper. The process is harmless to the bees.
That's kinda sad 😞 Bees are adorable, I especially love the fat plompy bumblebee 🐝
The thought of bees self-soothing is heartbreaking
Of course they have consciousness. They managed to successfully sue the human race.
Most insects groom themselves when stressed, especially members of the wasp order (which includes bees and ants), so it really isn't too surprising. Every animal with a brain has some level of sentience, nearly all of them can experience some degree of stress and will use coping mechanisms to calm down afterwards, so it's hardly exclusive to mammals and honeybees.
Also, as previously stated, if a beekeeper is killing their bees in the honey harvesting process, they should get a new job because they clearly suck. That will eventually encourage the bees to leave, and now you've helped to create a new population of invasive feral honeybees (if you live outside of Europe or Asia, if not, then that's just a you problem).

I thought this was a Bee Movie game when I saw the thumbnail, so I arrived prepared.

Tbh I dont get your joke, if its about race it doesnt make sense because spanish people are white and if its about the sun then it doesnt make sense because spain isnt very sunny/significantly warm
fun fact, the scene where the bees smothered the hornet- actually a thing! bees have been known to swarm enemies and flap their wings a ridiculous amount, (scientifically, they "vibrate their flight muscles" butlike it gets the point across either way) eventually generating enough heat to kill said enemy. it does happen to hornets. quite a bit. imagine getting swarmed and cooked alive by bees. doesn't sound very pleasant
this game was..rather accurate too. bees have been known to communicate by 'dancing', (really just. wiggly movements that alert other bees to different things; whether its a flower with a lot of nectar and backup is needed, or something else entirely.) and all worker bees are female! (similar to all worker ants being female. the males only purpose is to impregnate the queen so she can continue producing eggs)
Fun fact, saving honey bees actually does more damage then help. Most flowers and fruits have a specific species of bee that pollinate that flower or fruit, and aiding one bee creates a natural imbalance that can help one species of bee push out livable environments for multiple other species.
