Spatial Video is not being talked enough about.
It is a vastly underrated feature. Can you imagine recording your child's first steps and reliving them years later? How about a marriage proposal? That would be an emotional landmark. I would definitely want to record moments with my parents who are old. Even after they're gone I would feel their presence, albeit digitally. But it would be as close as I could get to being with them. This feature is going to change the way we store memories digitally.
Our eyes, ears and Brains help store memories more vividly and emotionally than any technology possibly will.. If we are not there experiencing the precious moment and thinking about recording, chances are when we see it later in the recording it won’t invoke the same feeling of happiness or nostalgia like a normal memory in our brain..
But that’s just my gut feeling.. though the technology behind Vision pro is really awesome honestly..
And what you said was correct though in every way..
@saukash I agree wholeheartedly. This is why, as much as I hate Meta, I am considering their Ray Ban glasses when they announce the next ones soon. It's nowhere near the same tech, but it should make it easier to retain these moments.
Have you ever watched the movie Wall-e. We don't need to become completely enveloped in technology to evolve. Personally I'm against the idea of Apple Vision Pro. But we'll see. It's one of those things whereby people are divided. Maybe it is the next step in our evolution. Cyberpunk ? We're only in 2023 so by 2077 we could be there. But humans have done so much before the late 1900s without tech. Like look at architecture, all of it is from a time before computers became mainstream.
@@moreliquorinmycoffeeThe key is, nobody is forcing you to use it. And obviously this technology won’t always be a bulky headset, but get much smaller and more inconspicuous.
@@hunterjay8331 I know. I find it really interesting to see if Apple sets a trend here that everybody else ends up following. What if the entire industry ends up moving in that direction. And I'm definitely going to get an Apple Vision Pro just to see what's up. I love technology and beleive in innovation, I yearn for space travel on a guardians of the galaxy level, but I also don't want to end up like Cyberpunk.
The Hub is gonna see a HUGE influx of spatial videos
Do you have to post this same comment on every video?
What is the Hub?
The P Hub@@aguyfromnothere
@@DeepDishPizza I haven't seen his comment before, so thanks @megaming7238. Not everyone spends all day on CZcams.

The only reason I'm going to buy the 15 Pro Max is for the spatial video. I'm gonna pair it with the Vision Pro when I get it early next year.
Yet no one cares what YOU plan to do.
Same, I also make content for vacation destinations. I hope the spatial video is user friendly for non Apple Vision consumers.
@@cuve_ae You shouldn’t be replying to comments, you should be watching football like a real man!
Wow what 🙀
Here in Australia iPhone 15 Pro max is $2100 and vision pro is $5300 so how

Man. I knew this was going to be the future of video recording but it's shocking to finally see it. How the other developers didn't see this is wild.
He literally said in the video that Google had developed it previously with AR glasses
He literally said in the video that Google had developed it previously with AR glasses
Well thought out video, thanks!
You could also use the Apple Watch as an Apple TV remote, just using the accelerometer to move on the screen and the double pinch to select
the spatial files can be converted into any vr platform
Honestly I may switch to an iPhone just for the spatial video feature. So long as it's viewable by other devices (ideally without having to convert it) I'm all about that. I would also hope it's viewable in 3D by other VR headsets, but not counting on that one unless someone other than Apple makes it happen.
@@fgerv good enough for me!
i hope Spatial video can be playback on other VR headsets
This will be my deciding factor wether to get a pro or not. If you cant use the clip in outside programs its a no go for me.
Given that it's probably a combination of stereoscopic video and spatial depth, I don't see a reason why not
@@Julzaa if that will be the case, VR will be more mainstream due to apple devices, Meta did quite a bit on their quest 2 but not everyone wants to game on VR, content also matters
@@iamdickel8574 yes I honestly think the Vision Pro is a new paradigm
This annihilates the vision pro's biggest criticism imo
It seems you missed the part about the price. And that it has no killer app or real purpose for the average user.
@@Scootir185they said that about iPad and Apple Watch…..
That's a false equivalency. Both the iPad and the Apple Watch had and continue to offer relatively low price points at the entry level giving them a hugely different threshold for purchase. And at introduction the use case for the Apple Watch had been made by competitors like Samsung. And for the iPad Microsoft had already demonstrated the value of touch computing, so again the use case already existed. @@Aggie4life77
Yes nice you don’t need to wear it to get video
@@Scootir185The “killer app” argument feels like a red herring to me. What’s the one killer app for a laptop? Typing? What’s the one killer app for an iPad? Reading? Not really.
The platform itself provides the foundation - the user experience, the interface, the industrial design, the App Store, the ecosystem tie in. The specific appeal of these products is different for every user. Really, the killer app is that they’re computers. They store, transmit, and display information in different ways. They’re used for productivity, entertainment, education, & communication.
The same will be true of the Vision. It’s a computer. People will do computer things with it, but in brand new ways: Infinitely resizable, repositionable displays for native apps or instant Mac mirroring. See the displays in your environment or choose a natural environment that helps you relax and focus - or rehearse your keynote in an auditorium. Watch movies on a giant floating screen in a forest. View 3D spatial home videos or expansive panoramas. Record first person spatial videos - maybe not at the kids birthday party but I can imagine many professional or technical uses for this. View 3D models from all angles in your physical space. Collaborate via FaceTime (or Zoom, Teams, or WebEx) where people are life size, stereoscopic, their voice comes from their location, and they can gesticulate with their hands and collaborate on shared apps. Watch a 3D documentary or sports event (Apple acquired a company that already has rights to NBA & soccer games, NFL and NHL highlights). These are not possible on existing platforms.
Vision is a computer. It displays anything anywhere, without covering your eyes (sorta), ears, or hands. Personally I think the possibilities are endless.
what are insightful video about what is about to occur in the future? kind of crazy to think that this is coming true
can we watch the spatial videos with a meta quest?
AirPods Pro 2nd generation support lossless audio for vision pro.
We don’t care.
It'll be Watch "10", not pronounced "ex", similar to iPhone X. And in Joz's talk about the Vision Pro, the videos taken with iPhone Pro 15 can be shared with someone WITH a Vision Pro which makes sense; if there was a way to view on your phone, you don't need a Vision Pro, and hello, that's the point -- sell Vision Pro or Vision or Vision SE.
Anything that has the Roman numeral X is pronounced EX” by people without a brain.
is it possible to record spatial videos with the 14 pro? Apple would limit themselves the sales of the Vison Pro if they limited it to the 15pro. then only the owners of the 15 pro could use the Vison Pro function. It seems to be a software implementation. I've only been able to use Apple Pay for 5 years, even though it's been possible since the iPhone 6. 90% of customers will probably only watch videos and play games on the Vison Pro. Because I would only buy the glasses because of the 3D function, but I don't like the 15 pro, the 14 pro with the highly polished frame looks so much nicer, I would really hate to upgrade to the 15pro.
Limited to the 15 pro and max
Wouldn't they just implement contiguous spatial video and normal video recording? It'll be using the main camera. Otherwise you're right, how do you decide which one to take? A spatial video for the vision pro that less than 1% of people can watch it or a regular video that everyone can watch?
Seems like a lot of data to be writing at once, especially if it's doable in 4k60 or higher. I suspect watching on any other type of device would just ignore the second video track, or 'spatial difference data' or however they end up writing it. Or worst-case you have to convert it, but I'd hope Apple would have a better solution than that.
Either way I can't imagine there'd be no way for others to view those videos, or they're just asking for the feature to fail (which they definitely don't want, since they're trying to push headsets)
I think it will be playable like on those 3D Billboards on the streets the optical illusion that it will look like you are looking on a window instead of TV, let's see I'm also excited to have that 15 Pro Max 😍😍😍
how can it be 3d when the cameras distances doesnt mimic pupillary distance. i wonder how the tech will work
It has LiDar scanners at the back
Omg really? You’re seriously thinking this? I thought it for a split second and then thought “it’s Apple, they got this”
That interaxial can actually feel too much in a lot of cases, depending on the lens. Natively shot 3D films often use beam splitter rigs to bring the IA down to 2cm-5cm
@@4khero Stop reading too much into it
@@DeepDishPizza im not saying its not possible without said pupillary distances lol apple is known for not releasing half assed products. i was just curious on the mechanics on the technology behind it
maybe by clipping subjects from the main camera and using the ultrawide camera as the background? seems like intensive processing
That depth sensor will definitely be used my guy. Not just the cameras!
This reminds me of minority report when he was watching the video of his child in the pool
I think Apple iPhone pro series is becoming more and more complex for end users like me. Going with its name "pro" this is more and more being targetted towards professionals now.
If you find it complex then get the standard iPhone 15
@@Mickthetechnerd I would rather get myself Galaxy S23 Ultra
A nozzle on the Apple Watch & a camera on it
It seems like the cameras should be a little further apart to mimic eyes.
You’re only thinking about the cameras. Apple is also using that depth sensor and some software wizardry!
LiDAR Scanner DUH! I swear people don’t use their brain these days.
Stop being frustrated im sure Apple will have it sorted out by the time the feature comes out 🤦♂️
Looks good but as fast as OS change will they still play in 10 yrs? When your VR glasses wont talk to your pc/phone? Microsoft is famous for telling you that tablet you bought is no good. This is not the same as a picture. A lot of info passes between the pc and glasses. Will all those priceless videos you take some day say sorry out of date?
3D videos on the 3DS were fun. 10 years later and nearly $5k for the total package. Very Apple.
If meta quest 3 is $600, Apple Vision Pro is gonna be $2500 😂
Nah more like 3500
3D Video like 3DS in 4K60
Trouble is, vr headsets are so uncomfortable. All of them.
It never really bothered me. What I hated was the resolution, which they appear to have solved.
Apple really loves to use big words on features that they already had on their last product 😂
And your point?
@@DeepDishPizza My point is if you are looking for technical innovations and not gimmicks. Give other brands a try.
@@krispydream6907 There is absolutely no reason why an iPhone user should “try” another brand. If they did, they would know that Google is just a cluster and loves not to finish apps and what not.
They had spatial video on other released products?
POV PRON
Lol not even close...
So ots basicslly the same technology from maybe 15 years ago when first camcorder with two lenses was able to shoot 3d video, innovation is dead....
Totaly meaningless features
