Over the years, the London Country Nationals became such a familiar sight that I truly believe if one turned up at my local bus stop tomorrow I would would barely notice and regard it as perfectly normal.

Regarding the BEA Routemaster; Do you happen to know if any of their trailers were preserved or restored and if so would they be road legal now?
i.e. were they fitted with appropriate brakes and lights
I did a quick search but couldn't find any relevant information.

Took some searching but at least one trailer was preserved (of the earlier type with tapered sides and tops of the wheels within the body). The most recent photo I can find is from 10 years ago when KGJ601D was being brought out of storage to attend Routemaster 60 - though it appears the bus went alone to that event, the trailer needing a new chassis.
