    Can't the security chip be removed from the damaged key and then transferred over to the replacement key?

      It requires some heavy tools to dissemble the plastic around it & you’d be able to place it in another area in the new key fob

    • @Mr.Thermistor7228
      @Mr.Thermistor7228 Před rokem

      @@devaughn1994 does not require "heavy tool" all you have to do is split the plastic/rubber casing thats surrounding the key and inside that you will find the chip. once you have the chip you then place it into the new key and there ya go. i guess heavy is relative to your idea of what heavy tools are but to me, yu do not need "heavy tools"

      It should i removed my chip from my ford focus key and glued the chip the ignition once i found the correct spot that it reconized it every time i turned the key, that way i could just uae a key without a chip

    Was unsure if it needed to be programed but now I'm sure it does. Unfortunately now the problem is the immobilizer is having issues programing keys might have to swap it.

      You will need to reprogram the key to work with the new immobilizer

    I think this might be the issue with my car. Sometimes it does start but sometimes it doesn't. Can I take my car/key into the dealership to have this done? My Honda Accord is old, 2001, so the key is old. Any idea of cost?

      Have a mechanic check the crank angle sensor or do a full diagnostic. Your issue is not key related. Hope that helps.

      Any mechanic with similar tool should be able to scan the code for you for cheap just to find out the code and problem . if you were local I would scan it for you for FREE.

      @@millerrain4025 I'm in westchester ny and I have an autel im608 key programming and all system diagnostic, I'm not a shop or dealer I do it for friends and anybody nearby and I don't charge those ridiculous prices dealer or locksmith do, That's what got me into doing this when a dealer wanted almost $700 for 2 keys I said no and spent over $3000 to do my own keys so now I just do it to pis of dealers 😛😛😛😛😛 and to help people but you have to bring your own new key, I can cut and program them.

      Great video!
