A unique 900mm FPV race wing with gyro stabilisation and launch mode. Light weight hollow foam wing design with click-in wings and radical elevon control via fuselage mounted servos. Great camera mounting space and plenty of internal area for all the gear.
No the fastest wing but very easy to fly.

Love the joyful chuckle and victory roll.
Aha, I mentioned an idea of a magnetic servo wing connection on one of your previous videos but this idea is better!
Now all the tech gurus need to do is integrate VTX and GPS connections for each wing also.
Thanks much for the generous content Andrew!
Oh yes how easy would that be then
Great review and awesome flying 👍😊✈️
Patiently waiting for mine from Banggood
Hi Andrew, thanks for sharing. I trust your review is the best so I ordered one right after watching this earlier the month and still waiting for it to arrive. I hope this is will be another good investment
Nice one Joe. I found it to be the easiest assembly and easiest maiden of all the wings. Stabilisation works perfectly
Just got mine this afternoon... 26days after ordering one. Just got it unpacked. The box looked scary with the all the dents but all parts looked OK inside. Dunno when will i fly though. :) oh well...
what is the max weight for this plane?
This looks most innovative:)
Yes very impressive
Andrew Newton I mostly FPV quads but this has my interest. That wing construction reminds me of 80s Kyosho OHS hollow surfaces.
Very much like the rapid removal of the wing structure
Yes it's very clever design.
There ZOHD nano Talon is also the structure of this quick release design, I have purchased, is the way to the courier!
Just checked it out, very interesting
Nice video. I am on here looking to get information for up elevator being limited on mine after setting everything else up so easily. The aielerons have more travel, so it is some program limit I assume.
It's all pre programmed so you just have to trust it I guess.
thanks for the video model I like :-)
I'm looking forward to seeing you slope it
Very nice. I hope they offer a larger wing at some point. Parrot and senseFly use a similar way to attach the wings to their fuse also. Makes for a portable wing, not having to deal with any electronics in the wings at all. Is there enough room in the fuse for a mini Pixhawk AP?
Yes plenty space
still not brand new I hope to do it soon good video how always Thank you
Good luck!
Fantastic review as always. What is the camera used on the wing on this flight? Did you use a separate one for fpv and separate for HD video?
Mobius HD cam and separate FPV cam
Hi Andrew I’ve just got the ZOHD Orbit & having a bit of trouble to get started. I’ve connected the wires on my orange R 610 V2 receiver as u describe in ur video the question I have in ur radio setup is it just the standard plane setup or have u gone into the wing menu & selected elevon. By the way my TX is a Spektrum DX8. Any help would be appreciated. Many thx Paul 😁
If you are using the stabiliser then you dont use elevon mixing, just separate channels for throttle, elevator, aileron
Nice model. Question: Isn't a folding prop necessary for when it lands?
No, the normal prop is tough enough
I just bought one of these and want to use my DXE transmitter...can I use a 4 channel receiver with these plane or do I need a 6 channel receiver? Thanx
It needs exactly 4 channels
Do you think it is a good idea to fly my Orbit in the snow? at the least where I'm going for a couple of days has snow on the ground. If I do fly it do I need to make any modifications etc?
Should handle snow without problems. Maybe just cover any inlet holes
Do you think it flies better/ worse than the sonic modell ar wing? I'm trmpted to get a wing..
Different purposes really, the AR Wing is faster and has less waggles, the Orbit can fly slower and is very easy with the gyros.
Andrew, Is there a reason when i switch to intermediate stabilizer mode the Orbit falls out of the sky like a rock?
Stabilisation is working in reverse at a guess, does it roll over immediately or nose down? Stock stabiliser?
I just purchased an orbit and have a Taranis QX7. On stock gear on the Orbit, which frsky receiver would you recommend to use?
X4R or X6R receiver would be the best. Great range and you can add telemetry sensors easily.
Thank you sir, I’m guessing no issues with either of those receivers? Great videos by the way.
Do you think it would be possible to use gopro Hero 5?
Possible yes, but I wouldn't. Wings crash a lot
Do you know the XENO from Multiplex? If you know can you say if the xeno is good for fpv .?
Don't know the Xeno sorry
Andrew Newton no problem👍 thanks for answer
Great review.
Just comparing the flying behavior. This or the S800 ?
For fun easy flying the ZOHD, for fast action the S800.
just ordered this beautiful wing. Andrew which battery are you using this video? is it 2200mah?
Yes 3s 2200. It is a well designed wing.
Andrew what is this launch mode you were telling. I find only three modes. one is partial stablizied. second is passthrough and third is fully stablizied. which one is laucnh mode. and how to set it up.
Andrew
Any idea of flying time with 2200mha?
Not yet, duration test to come
pablosiga says one hour
I had a tiny problem with this one:
when I created my wing model on taranis, I had a weird behaviour of the servos, I had to remove from the mix page the mix aileron/elevator mix and only have channel one : aileron only, channel two elevator only. Did you do the same thing?
Yes that is correct. You always have to do that when using a stabiliser board, no mixing the board takes care of that.
Thanks for the reply. Is there any way of changing the rates and expo? I can't find any documentation on how to change this stabiliser.
You're right, no manual! You would just program rates and expo the usual way in your transmitter I guess but don't think it really needs it.
I think the built-in stabilizer does the mixing automatically.
I was really looking forward to get this. Sadly, after waiting for a month a half, unlike the claim of 7-20 day delivery, stabilizer doesn't always work, one servo always buzzed because of aileron being so tight, and there was no noticeable difference between 3 axis or 6 axis. Most disappointing is esc for throttle does not calibrate. Can't get to the esc because everything is glued
Very disappointing Milan, are you sure its connected correctly and setup in your transmitter? 3 pos with for your modes?
Thanks for replying Andrew. Found the battery was low. After recharging the battery everything works except I cannot calibrate the esc. I initially set everything up without the battery pluged in. I turned the radio on, throttle stick all the way up, plugged in the battery, calibration and servos work but the esc never made the so called musical tone, 2 beeps. It continually beeps about 2-3 seconds and the motor has a twitch corresponding to the beep. I'm using a brand new FlySky i6x transmitter and ia6b receiver. Eleron and elevator work just fine and stabilization works as well. I went and did the following. I tried calibrating several different esc's and motors that have never been calibrated before. All failed. Is it possible that channel 3 on the receiver is defective even though it's new? Sorry for such a long reply
I figured out what the issue was. Transmitter output needs to be set to PWM not PPI even though, instructions that came with ZOHD clearly say PPM.
Can you get s bigger motor? Maybe a adapter kit, thanks chuck
Of course, but the stabiliser may not handle it.
Hi Andrew, another great video thanks, I’m thinking of buying this plane, do you think it would be any good for soaring and catching thermals?
It's a great stabilised FPV wing, but not really designed for gliding or thermals. Too small and draggy I suspect
Many thanks for that 👍
Anybody knows how to set eso brake on Orbit Neon? Mine came with Flycolor 30A esc. Followed different tutorials I’ve found none seem to apply to this cheap esc.
Have to search for the manual
Andrew Newton , the manual for the Orbit only has instructions to calibrate the esc with radio.
Flycolor ESC manual
Hi Andrew its Paul again something still is not rite with my setup I have the 3 pin plug connected to the aileron the yellow to the throttle the green to the flight mode switch & finally the blue to the elevator. I have no mix in my TX. When the Stabilizer is red & I push the throttle the rite ailerons goes up the left down it does the opposite when the Stabilizer is blue. I must have this connected completely wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’ve been at this for ages & I seem to be getting nowhere. Many thx Paul 😁
Radio needs to be set up with 100% throttle on the throttle channel, 100% Aileron on the aileron channel and 100% elevator on the elevator channel and three position switch for the AUX1 (Mode switch) Sounds like you have the mode switch right. What does it do in Manual mode?
fantome in a small size
Can it hold 18650 3s or 4s?
Don't have it anymore but I would guess yes
Again another decent flying wing. Will u try to slope this...
Yes it would work well in light wind
What would you rather mate..... Planes or wings?
Planes, slope and thermal gliders
Wouldn't it have a gyro (heading-hold) and stabelized mode? :$
I really like the looks of it Andrew.. Soo new product-methodes in foam planes huh? Who would have thought.. Sometimes it seems ALL development in RC land is in the multirotors corner these days..
Fairly sure it has a launch mode which makes it climb and fly straight, resists any stick inputs and also acts as a panic recovery mode, then a manual mode then a normal stabilised mode which holds the angle but allows inputs.
That allmost sounds like an iNav setup.. could it be?
Well it's dumb iNav maybe without any GPS features.
Imagine flying long-range fpv with this and a wing dettaches. rip
Gasp!
@9:55 "I'm going to have to read the manual to see what those modes actually do" :) !!!
Poor reviewing eh?
No, I liked the review. Keep them coming please. I have the Orbit Neon or order and can't wait to try it out.
Aww man now your just rubbing it in.
lol
just kidding love your vids you a lucky man getting all these cool planes to play with.
Trouble is I barely get time to fly for fun these days.
Andrew Newton I can see that as a problem you may have to take early retirement so you have more time to play. lol😆
Already organised Peter, counting the days
bangood has some really good stuff...but here in India
...the customs Dept doesn't allow us to import anything related to 'drones'. even a little toy heli will get confiscated ..and most likely later destroyed...
That's no good, have to make your own RC craft?
yes make our own...or buy from local hobby sellers for a 20-40% extra price.
Big flat nose will always cause the wander/waggle, not really ideal for speed OR stability,
maybe?........ needs a sleeker nose for line of sight flying and better stability
I know this is a very old video but I just bought one of these brand new from a guy on RCG, I’ve got it all set up and ready to go, I just need to know what color the stabilizer flashes for launch mode ? I appreciate the help if you can remember……… Thank you
Sorry too long ago to recall
