If you put the warriors back then the warriors wouldn't have won due to the sheer size and cohesiveness of the teams back then you had guys like Zo Mourning and Mutumbo guarding the paint now there's nobody in there to do it so yes the paint wide open and there's no rim protection.

Literally says in one sentence, “If you are the GOAT you should be able to lead your team to winning” and then not even a couple sentences later….”well, he might not have won the whole thing but he gets there.” Um, what?
I’ve never had an issue with younger people who didn’t watch Jordan and grew up on Lebron as their GOAT. It makes perfect sense. It’s when the ones who never watched tell us how wrong we are when we have seen both.
One thing you never heard about Jordan in a Finals was……”The key to the Bulls winning is if Jordan can finally out play Jeff Hornacek. (A 6th man scorer off the bench)
That statement was made about LeBron in regards to Jason Terry in 2011. He outscored LeBron in the series. Outscored him in the 4th Quarter, blew by him and hit three with LeBron personally guarding him and let Terry take over in the clinching game 6.
I’m sorry, but if you want to be the best to ever, ever do it. You can’t have that on your record.

I hate this "jORDaN wAs gEtTinG BouNcEd oUt FiRsT rOunD!!!1" narrative. Jordan got bounced first round of playoffs early in his career. Well guess what? LeBron wasn't even making the playoffs early in his career, while having a stronger roster than Jordan. Atleast Jordan could pull his team to the playoffs every single season with the Bulls. People act as if losing in the first round is worse than not making the playoffs. It's weird. LeBron also was doing well cause he was playing in the much weaker eastern conference. Infact, LeBron has only ever beaten 1 single all NBA first team player in his entire duration in the east. Whereas Jordan played in the stronger conference, and would have to play against a 60 win team first round while being on a garbage lottery team.

In COVID times, literally EVERY sport organised their tournaments without audience or restricted % of audiences in stadium. For example, Bayern Munich won UEFA Champions League behind closed doors without fans in stadium. I am yet to meet a Soccer fan who says Bayern Munich's 2020 UCL win was fake or it should have a asterisk. No one says Tokyo Olympics medal winners are frauds because stadiums were only 25% filled. Same goes for literally every other sport.
Champions from literally all the sports in the world won titles without the fans in COVID era and in somewhat weird circumstances but no one says they are fake champs. All those sports champions are considered legit excpet the NBA championship for Lakers. Why?? Why does ONLY the NBA fans from all the sports world say that their rightful champion isn't real champ; there should be asterisk and Bubble championship shouldn't count? Only one reason. King LeBron James. Most of the NBA fanbase is so pathetic that yall will hate the man and disregard his champions than actually accept his greatness.

It’s the fact he constantly has to tell other he’s great in great at this and that. And more recently saying how he’s the goat. It’s his passive aggressive nature with teammates, media, coaches. He literally has so many antics it’s nuts. People can accept his greatness they’re just tired of the media trying to constantly push this narrative. People aren’t stupid man, all the information you need is researchable, I never got to watch Jordan play. Did my own research and I don’t think anyone can touch Jordan…just based off actual facts. Things that are documented and not hypotheticals and not anything involving my feelings towards the player or anything. Lebron should never have been compared to Jordan to begin with. Magic Johnson and Larry bird would have been better. Lebron is a great player but there’s A LOT of weakness to his game, 21 years and he hasn’t improved a single one of them. He has the most excuses as to why he can’t get it done, the most help yet doesn’t finish the job. Theres only 1 common thing in all of these situations every team he goes. That’s himself. As great as he is, he isn’t great enough for it to really translate to winning. And he isn’t a great team leader. That’s not being hateful it’s just what’s there, it’s what you can quite literally see and watch yourself. If you ever pay attention. On top of that a lot of Lebron fans say crazy disrespectful things or just people in lebron’s camp. That’s another reason for why so much push back from people today. It has nothing to do with being hateful, or not acknowledging he’s great. Plenty of players who’d ton even have Lebron in their top 3 acknowledge how great he is. Yet they don’t have him in their top 3. There’s a different between actually being hateful and just being critical. The bubble is a real championship, BUT it isn’t the “hardest” championship. Maybe mentally it was hard for players with the circumstances. BUT in terms of the physicals it was maybe one of the easiest. No homecourt advantage, no fans, no travel, 24/7 food service from personal chefs. Like come on….

  • @jamespuso1627
    @jamespuso1627 Před 3 měsíci +7

The conversation about the competition is interesting but it's one of those things where when you get down to it you kinda see why people say comparing eras is kind of messy because the game was played very differently and the physical attributes, skills and strategies were completely different. Basically the 90s and 00s were a strength based game and the 10s, 20s and basically the entire rest of NBA history have been more speed based. Just look at a picture of David Robinson next to Wemby and that'll illustrate the differences. So if you put Steph Curry in the 90s would they be very good at chasing him around the 3 point line? No. But on the flip side if you put Shaq in his prime in the game today would anyone today be strong enough to keep him away from the basket? Also no. So the competition is hard to compare.

Jordan played on the least talented team in the NBA in the 80s.They were the worst team in the NBA that's why they drafted Jordan. The Bulls were so terrible they called them "the cocaine traveling all stars. And that's because they all did cocaine, not Jordan though. They played to just collect a check so they would buy cocaine. Jordan walked in on them at a hotel. LeBron played with Hall of Fame players and All Stars and future Hall of Famers to win a championship. LeBron left his team to join a super team to get championships.LeBron would've never have won two of his titles if Ray Allen doesn't hit that three pointer in the corner. If Ray would've missed that shot at the buzzer games over and the series literally is over because theirs know more games to be played. But he made it and they then played game 7 and won. Jordan's first three championships had only one All-star and Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen that's it. And he wasn't always that good,he was really skinny wasn't a good jump shooter yet and struggled to shoot free-throws. Pippen and Jordan started lefting weights for the 1990-1991 season to get pass the Pistons. It worked. And yes Jordan played against a lot of Hall of Famers. He destroyed a lot of Hall of Famers chances at winning a championship..

I think the question you were trying to say was if Jordan played against today's league where the average player base is higher skilled would he have been just as successful. It's a valid question... But I would argue he would have been more successful.
With today's league having better shooters and the three-point being much more prominent that means players are more spread out which makes it easier for Jordan to get within his most comfortable range of shooting and makes drives easier. That would also make his teammates more dependable as shooters and would make Jordan an even greater passing threat with the amount of pressure he puts on the defence. So I actually think Jordan's stats would be insane if he played in today's era.
Another valid question you posed is would a team like the Warriors be even more dominant if they played in Jordan's era. I would argue no. I don't think they beat the Bulls in the 90s. Besides Curry, i dont think anyone could get going especially during the Jordan, Rodman and Pippen era. Durant would be guarded by Pippen who is even more physically imposing and is a great defender, Durant would still perform well but not up to his standard. Klay is getting shut down by Jordan. That leaves Steph as their only real mismatch offensively. There is nothing the warriors can do about stopping the bulls on the other end no matter which era.
Although LeBron making the finals 12 times is insane, and deserves its respect. The reason why winning and making the finals aren't the same is because making the finals means you are better than half the league, winning the finals means you're the best team in the league. If Lebron's teams faced the eventually champions in the first round then he too would have been first rounded. That's why the difference is huge.
LeBron's legacy is vast and deserves all the respect... I don't like the guy but 20 years easily makes you earn the title of King. And he has performed magic time and time again. He's just not the greatest and there's nothing wrong with that.

Your question was about taking teams and talent from this era and putting them against the teams and talent of that era, which I think is a valid question worthy of consideration.
My question would be, since we’re talking about comparing them as players, if you took LeBron & put him in that league or took MJ and put him in this league what would happen.
Keep in mind, they’re generally not letting guys LeBron’s size run point unless you’re Magic Johnson or shoot the 3, which isn’t even a big part of that game. I think he probably winds up a better Scottie Pippen or a lesser Karl Malone.
It could be argued with no handchecking and rules that aid offense Jordan would torch this league. He’s not going through the physical battles so his career lasts longer. He shoots the 3 more often and ofc better cuz he’s getting a lot more reps. I mean… 🤷🏾‍♂️

You asked about competition in their respective eras. It’s not comparable because of rule changes. Especially hand checking and how a normal foul in Jordan’s era is probably a flagrant 1 or 2 now. You can’t spread the floor in Jordan’s era with those differences. Alternatively, the same teams from his era wouldn’t have the skill sets needed for the modern era. But Jordan’s game would be just as good or better because he was going off when he got hand checked and tackled going to the rim. Imagine that advantage with his skills, athleticism, zero flopping, no complaining, and fundamentals? They both would have to adapt to each era respectively, but I highly doubt LeBron would be better in the physical era. Centers could camp in the paint and dare you to even try it. Jordan on the other hand would have a field day.

On the topic of competition, it's hard to say, because, context is necessary. First, in reality, the players that faced Jordan were pretty good, they have acolites that proof that they are recognized as great basketball players, and also, they have a lot statistical elements to present their capability as players, the reason we don't recognize them, like in the video was said is because they never won the NBA championship, and that is a very important point, like it or not, players or teams that never won get forgotten, even in other things related with history, wars, economics, cultural advancement, etc, the winners mark history and memories. Second, the technology and the process of evolution of the game is a very important factor that we don't consider, the Warriors were a very strong team, and the players now have a lot of advantage in comparison with teams in the early 90's and 80's, not only because of the new gyms, trainings, shoes, clothes and medicine, but also because they learn from the past with videos, so the players on today's world have an advantage of seeing, learning and driving to perfection abilities, skills and plays of the better teams and players of the past (they have more background to play with).Third, in relationship with this last point, the structure of the game now is very different. In todays basketball and when the Warriors were the that amazing team, defense started to be diminished by the new rules, so it's hard to say how good they would be against teams that had stronger defense. In the same way, better players would be joining to the NBA because of the factors already addressed in the point of tech. Also the mentality was different, Jordan didn't wan to play with Malone, Stocktone and Pippen in the same team, or something like that, the idea was to beat the best, not joining the best just to win, so, what would it happened if the Warriors were on that period or the opposite?, the mentality of KD would be different and not join the Warriors? would the mentality of MJ would be different joining the best players in the game instead of just playing with good players (and Pippen) instead of three or four exceptional players?
So I think that the question is tricky to answer. I think even impossible really.
On the other point, I think that you feel that he is hating on Lebron because he is speaking on flaws on Lebron's game, so, nobody likes when someone talks about your own flaws or flaws of your loved ones or the ones that you admire. But that is related with learning to accept critics and compliments.
In the other point, you asked, does it matter? (in the point of being a better shooter), yep, it matters because the analysis that is made is "how good Lebron is on all areas of the game, in this case, shooting, and shooting is not the same as dunking or using layups, so yeah, it matters for the topic that were addressed.
Finally, yeah, I don't like the last part of the video, I think it's overblown, but in defense of the idea, it gave the idea of why so many people thinks that MJ is the GOAT, because the idea is that even if Lebron is an awesome player, he is not doing all the things that Jordan did, and that makes him very impressive, it's like out of this world his career. And that's why the title it's "The Greatest Player Of All Time", because you need to very "picky" and to remark things that are very unique, that can fill the acolite of the GOAT.
In my personal thought even with this remarkable things of MJ, I think that the idea of the GOAT is to idealize and romanticize a player and an era, I don't like it, I prefer to think of "GOATs" if that is possible to say or "GOEE" hahahahaha because I think this should be think as players and eras. But anyways, sorry for the long message.

Quick question is now a days defense bad or is the offense so good that it obliterates the defenses now?

@@Acloud1 Check out videos about the topic, it's very interesting because, 1, the change of the rules are a big factor on this discussion, 2, for example, a CZcams channel put this idea that is because offense is too good because of the development of new strategies, bodies (in the training, gym etc), tech and so on, but, there you have a big problem, wouldn't be the same for defense, if there is so much to learn from old big couches and players, and new tech and new ways to train on the offense, why is not happening on the defense? Why defense didn't developed and became more strong to avoid the ridiculous numbers on today's game? Check out the rules, the changes, the interviews, like the one that Koby Bryant gave about basketball and the direction towards offense that was created. You have a lot of different proofs that demonstrate that is very clear, todays NBA is searching to avoid the type of games of the 80's and early 90's and to create a spectacle that is based on the idea of offense, putting rules that diminish defensive style games.

It's a far less physical game now compared to the Jordan era & the game is tailored for offense. Two completely different times in the sport but I can guarantee Jordan would've murdered the current NBA with his work ethics & probably lasted much longer too. Which is why Jordan is & will probably always be the GOAT 🐐.
