I'm from Brazil and the NBA was only known here after MJ appeared. He put an entire country that was crazy about football/soccer to watch and enjoy basketball. I feel honored to have seen all the golden years of MJ's career. He is unique and I don't imagine he will ever be surpassed.

I don't know who asked MJ this question but the reporter asked MJ if he thought he could fly. MJ replied "for a little bit". Then you see him soar from the free throw line to execute a flawless dunk, it was a work of art!
It isn't even that you have already seen it. He is so sloppy while he tries to be so great and make it all look so easy. It is not a work of art. It is the focus and force to beat MJ. To be the GOAT and you have already played 6 and a half seasons past MJ. I mean really where do you let it go? You have the points and Assists and all that but can you put something together as artistic as Jordan because that is part of the reason he is the GOAT. I mean if you are still chasing Jordan and your lets say 7 seasons past when Jordan stopped playing, will you ever be able to dethrone Jordan?

But when Mike played in the finals, me and my friends were sitting in front of the tv the whole night, just to see him play. His moves are art and he did things we had never seen before. That's what brought so many people into Basketball. By the way, Mike never said he is the greatest. When he was asked that question his answer was, that no one can tell, because he had never the chance to play against all the great players that came before him. Mike would never say he is the GOAT. But he is. He would have won 8 titles if he didn't retired after his fathers death.

No, because Pele is not the GOAT... I'll give you a pass if you're American but Pele's legacy is based on lots of lies or half-truths...
      1. His famous 1000 goals in his career, the majority of them was in exhibition games against amateurs, scoring 6,7 or even 8 goals in a single game because there wasn't a pro league in Brazil back then while he never played on the top leagues of Europe
      2. His 3 World Cup wins are exaggerated because his Brazilian team was so talented that in 1962 when Pele got injured on the first game of the WC and didn't play at all in the rest of the tournament THEY STILL WON... they were so good that they didn't even need Pele to win...

Other than the game being far less physical and looking more like high school games, I noticed 2 things that BUG me a lot. I've CLEARLY seen James 'travel' MANY times without it being called. And, I CLEARLY see many defenders move out of James' way or teammates give him the ball when they have obvious, easy shot. It almost seems like the stats that he's 'earned' are padded... Well put together video and all facts. I didnt need to watch this to know MJ is the Goat. I saw the man play with my own eyes. Every game and every championship. And I've watched all the players since. No one is even close. And being a big Lebron fan when he 1st hit the NBA. And watching what he has done over the last 8 to 10 years. He isnt even my top 5 all time. Hes made the biggest career mistakes I've seen. And shattered for me the possibility to even surpass The Black Mamba. Lebron Changing so many teams and title chasing. For me has knocked Lebron out of the top 5 spots for ever. To many legends in those spots for lebron to get in. I have lebron around spot 8 maybe 9. And if he didnt actually show some killer instinct in the finals against the warriors. He would be around #10. So for him to say that series made him the greatest of all times is laughable. The man got swept twice! And lost to a aging dallas team with his super team. Nope, lebron isnt that killer legend in my eyes. To many legends showed how to get to the top. And it's not the formula Lebron choose to use. That's just my take on this nonsense debate. MJ all day every day for The Goat. And I have larry bird in my top 5. :) great job bud on this post.

Michael Jeffrey Jordan is the goat there is no debate and anyone who can read or see would know this only someone outright lying would say otherwise.

When it goes to analytics at 17:25 he uses them in a cumulative way, so you have to remember that he is comparing Jordan's (effectively)13 years to Lebron's 18 years, so when it looks close like the 7-6 on PER you gotta remember Jordan led the league 7 times in 13 years while LBJ did it 6 times in 18 years. Jordan did it over 50% of the time and LBJ did it 33% of the time.
That's the danger of using analytics in a cumulative manner. It makes it look closer on paper than it really is. When it comes to win shares, Jordan led 8 times in 13 years(61%) and LBJ led 5 times in 18 years(27%). It's not nearly as close as the raw numbers would suggest.

I love LeBron fans. In one sentence they want every one to understand and sympathize with LeBron when he loses in the Finals to great teams. Despite being 8+ years into his NBA career for most of them and playing with guys like Dwade, Bosh, Irving, Love, and a bunch of veteran players since 2011, LBJ fans want us to just excuse his losses because of who he lost to. But at the same time ask why Jordan in year 1-6 had the nerve to lose to the Bird Celtics and Bad boy Pistons while playing with coke heads and while his eventual best Teammate in Pippen was still growing. I also find it funny that LeBron fans always talk about who MJ and the bulls faced in the finals and never speak about who he had to beat to get there. Perhaps it's because they know the road in Lebrons East was laughably weak compared to Jordan's. Every team Jordan lost too early in his career, minus milwaukee, made the finals. 3 of them won the whole thing and many believe the Pistons were robbed from winning another. It would be like LeBron getting drafted to a weak western team in the 2000s and having to play the 2000s Spurs or Lakers early in the playoffs with a team of line-sniffers.
And I also find it funny how unsympathetic LBJ fans are to Jordan's finals opponents. Getting to the finals out of what many considered the weaker conference just to lose to the best team from the tougher conference? Sounds like a lot of Lebrons finals losses, don't they? Of course, using their own argument, how could LeBron lose so many finals and get swept twice if he da GOAT?
I also can't get behind the lack if effort on defense. Even the greatest defenders of any sport get beat. It happens. But there is a difference between trying and failing and failing because you didn't try. Even the most hardcore LBJ fans know there were years where LeBron decided he wasn't going to put in the effort on D. This isn't football were you sit on the sidelines if your unit isn't on the field. In the NBA you have to put in the work on both ends. Jordan did night in and night out. He may have gotten beat but it wasn't for lack if effort. How can LeBron get mad and pout if his team lost by a point or two when he was standing at the other end of the court watching his defense go 4 v 5?
Finally(I promise) I can hear the LBJ fans regarding the clutch shooting. "But he has more than Jordan." Cumulatively? Sure. But let's not forget LeBron has played hundreds of games more than Jordan so he's had more opportunities to try those types of shots. But it isn't how many you've made in total necessarily but how likely you are to make them. In this scenarios who is the more clutch play? Player A who made 25 of 50 shots or player B who made 27 of 90? Player A is statistically the more clutch player.

That is one of the greatest sport teams of all time, with the best D in the league that year, and with the 5 HOF players, yet the playoff record of 63 points is still held by Jordan from game 2. I'm old enough to have seen prime Jordan in person and I've seen prime Bron in person and I find it comical when they try to compare. Speaking of comedy, it's like trying to compare Kevin Hart to Richard Pryor. And I wasn't a Jordan fan growing up since I've bled purple & gold since Magic's rookie season. The psyche and competitiveness is so vastly different. MJ didn't wanna team up with other All-Stars, he wanted to decimate them. And that's one of the many reasons Wade, Kyrie, Ray Allen, Anthony Davis and Westbrook, who have seen Bron's many flaws up close, pick Jordan as the GOAT.

I wonder how other players other then Jordan stack up against Lebron. Like, is Lebron on Kobes or Birds level? Because if thats not even the case, why is he even mentioned in the same breath as Jordan.

Something that gets overlooked with LeBron calling himself the goat is that he did it a few days after he called the white NFL owners 'slave masters.' As soon as he called himself the goat, everyone stopped taking about his NFL comment. What a guy!

What does lebron do better than Michael AIR Jordan ? Can anybody tell me ?
    Well.....
    Scoring .
    Jordan 30 ppg .
    10 scoring titles .
    LeBron 27 ppg .
    1 scoring title .
    So who's better ?
DEFENSE ? Give me a break
    Jordan 9 defensive first team
    LeBron 5
Jordan - DEF.. player of the year .
    -Lebron 0
Assists ? LeBron plays PG for years . Jordan for 3 weeks .
10 straight triple doubles in 11 games . And LeBron only average 1 more assist. 😱😱
    Mentally tougher ? Jordan .
Better 3 point shooter in playoffs for their career ? Jordan . Better from Free throws ? Jordan .
Better finisher at the rim , Dunks etc.. ? Jordan.
Steals ? Jordan. Etc..etc..etc..etc..etc.. oh. Most impactful in basketball history ? Jordan.
Both Were given a SUPER TEAM once .
    JORDAN ( Bulls 1996-98)
    LeBron ( Heat 2011-2014)
Jordan 3 straight Tittles .in 3 tries.
LeBron .2 Tittles in 4 tries
    Case closed .

The GOAT should not be defined about who won most NBA finals, it should be defined who won the most MVP's. Or just about the stats itself, because even the MVP awards are given to players from successful season teams only.

it's so amazing to see you react to some basketball videos Adam, if you want a good series of videos to react to I would recommend "Making The Case" by Clayton Crowley, his first series of videos is about the 8 players he sees as having a shot at the title of G.O.A.T., while his second is about the 8 Teams, per single season, that have a claim of being the G.O.A.T.

I concur… Clayton Crowley is a good channel for anyone into basketball. I would also check out Thinking Basketball and Johnny Arnett… both are great. Thinking Basketball is more analytical but both do a good job using stats to tell the history of basketball.

I don't want to hear about Lebron James being the GOAT!!! He's NOT even close to MJ, Kareem, Scottie, Magic, Kobe, or Duncan!!!
It's Lebron James, his marketing team & supporters who are helping to write this narrative, so that fans, sports hosts & others will hop on the Lebron James's GOAT-CHEESE TRAIN!!!

Oh, speaking of consistancy. Every full reagular season Mike played for the Bulls (11) are in the top 50 individual best season list, incl. the top place for his 1988 season with a huuuuuuge lead to place 2 (wich is also MJ with his 89 season). Oh, by the way, when you said "it's close" on the PER stats, it's really not, because you have to consider that Jordan played less seasons and still leads.

I have Lebron James in 8th place of the greatest players of all time just after Tim Duncan. I have MJ, Bill Russel, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird. Lebron is so bad on free throws and he has very less clutch gene = no killer mentality like MJ had !!
My top 10 NBA players of all time:
    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Bill Russell
    3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
    4. Kobe Bryant
    5. Magic Johnson
    6. Larry Bird
    7. Tim Duncan
    8. Lebron James
    9. Shaquille O´neal
    10. Wilt Chamberlain

The whole GOAT debate was never a thing until LeBron inserted himself into that conversation. MJ was clearly the better player in both accolades and traditional statistics as well as advanced analytics. Don't believe me...this video proved it out. LeBron in a lot of ways is still a whole HoF career of accolades behind MJ and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
