    Just remove all the sway bars. You don’t need them on an xj. For the lift the s10 bastard pack is fine. It’s not flexing in the rear because the sway bar is still on the rear. And if you are going to do anything with the lift save yourself money in the long run and do a long arm kit. The reason why the front coil spring looked all fucked up is because the arms are to short so it’s pulling the axle back when the tire drops. Long arms will fix that. Long arms will drastically improve travel and ride quality at the same time. That is the factory steering wheel. That’s just the non cruise control wheel. And when you cut the fenders look up cut and fold videos CZcams. The front you can cut however you want but the rear you need to do it a certain way.

      X2 on disconnecting the sway bars if you want any flex. XJs are getting hard to find and are great rigs. Definitely not the stock wheel. You have the Chrysler 8.25 rear end which you can weld up and beat it all day.

    • @ballard12
      @ballard12 Před 4 lety +1

      Connor Doss that is the stock wheel. 97 to 01 xjs had 2 different steering wheels. One with cruise control buttons and one with out. The one he has is the same as my 98. A non cruise control wheel.

    You're missing the entire mechanical fan that goes on the passenger side lmao. The aux fan kicks on automatically at 210 - 212 degrees but get the fan before you wheel it. its 4 bolts plus the clutch. I've owned and wheeled 4 xjs hit me up if you have any questions..the trans you have in that is an AX15. They're pretty solid overall and dont have issues running bigger tires with the proper setup. Worst case scenario you're only out $100 or so for a trans in good condition. Parts are plenty and cheap !

    You dont need the rear swaybar. Cut and fold the rear fenders, DONT JUST CUT THEM! That is the factory wheel, you need a new clock spring that's why the airbag light comes on and the turn signals dont work properly. sometimes it's not the window switch it's the wire that breaks in the door/kick panel. If you have a dana 35 rear axle swap it for a 8.25, dana 44 or the 8.8. For the rear leaf's you can make a bastard pack for cheap. Over all the jeep looks like a good starting point

    Control arm drop brackets will fix the front coil spring issue and give it very good road manners. I have daily driven mine this way for the last few years. The rear sway bar I would completely remove. As others have said, it is almost not noticeable when it is removed. Also mentioned is the Ford 8.8 swap. Just see what your ratio is before you buy one so you can get the same as the front. Unless it has 3.07 gears, then swap them both.

    Get a Ford 8.8 rear end. You can get 4.10 gear disc brake limit slip. Stock springs and do spring over so you get lift with soft springs. The dana 35 in the back is trash. The d30 up front is even worse. If you plan on beating on it, start looking for a Dana 44 front. Look into a long arm front kit, short arms don't work very well when lifted more than a few inches.

    Steering wheel is factory, turn signals do not go off due to bad clock spring. S10 springs are added into the XJ springs for lift (Bastard Pack) normal junkyard budget lift. Do not disco the rear sway bar, unless you just want to fab up a set, will do no good for rear flex- the leafs are your limiting factor. Get some recovery points on it before you buy your light bars, Your leak is from the passenger blinker. Dud e someone stole your mechanical fan.....Time for the efan conversion or put a new fan and clutch in there. Death wobble can happen without a big bump too....You will learn a lot from this toy.

    If you want to make it reliable and can fab, cut the 4 link bullshit out and leaf the front you will never do maintenance again until you break a leaf. and you can lift with shackles if you want to go higher. Or long arm kit but that’s a lot more expensive . You can get leaf hangers and perches dirt cheap for the front end and do the bumper with it incorporated with your front hangers. Jeep on! P.s. get good tires def. keep s10 rear springs in rear and ditch away bar

      Get a carbon sample with a trash bag, that’s what we had boots do when they showed up the first day! It’s easy to convince a young marine to get a sample, it’s a sight to see!

    $50 explorer 8.8 differential and you'll get 3:73 limited slip or 4:10 limited slip. And u'll have 31 spline axle shafts i believe. Its a common swap.

    Ya jeeps are the shit, they leak, make noise and can be a headache, but they will get you where you need to go. I bought mine for 50$ bucks a year ago, and have been daily driving it every since.

    50$ ebay rads work really well not joking cheapest place to get them and they are the same as the oem ones. you can do fab work you should take a look at the aftermarket long are kits most of them just bolt in you can make your own way cheaper than buying one and it would make for some cool vids, maybe a turbskyP.S. the rear springs look like they might be put in backwards, it should be short side on the front. the front spring bushing to the center pin is shorter than the back bushing to the center pin an d the short side go's to the front. it maybe right just looks funny on video xj's are sweet can be a lot fun my last on was on 40's but I live in Florida not a lot of rock crawling here LOL, we go big so we don't lose them in the swamp but I have lost one to the water and it suck cant wait to see what you do with it building it is half the fun check out the t-case shift link didn't sound like it was going in to low rang

    If you want a great guide on these jeeps look up Eric Zappe, he has a few books out that really help in choosing the right modifications. It’s pretty much the Bible for XJ’s. 😎

      Just remove rear sway bar, with the leaf springs you don’t need the rear sway.
