You can actually get 8 dances per cast if used with cleric divine skill, 16 per turn if used with cleric divine skill and two dancers and Alfyn BP battery
The more you know! This is really helpful, thank you.
BP battery? Whats that?
@@jefflokanata He basically means that Alfyn can give everyone BP through his ability to concoct.
You get accessories that can prevent instant death towards chapter 3 areas if you want to do some grinding in later game areas for serious boosting with less reloading saves due to this.
Thank you so much. I have a slight gambling addiction with this spell lmao
"You barely survive the attack..."
"The ground explodes"
*RIP*
The Milhouse Bewildering Grace roll
Got this. Biggest middle finger the RNG has given me in a while.
Just had this happen to me today. The next time though it MORE than made up for it with "JP X 100"! I didn't even know that was a thing.
Happened to me today
I didn't know that exp X100 was a thing until I was fighting the guardian of the warbringer shrine and did max charge bewildering dance and got it. my level 50 characters leaped to the mid 70's. On the other hand, one time the dance set my party's health to one and the next dance exploded everyone so i got a game over in one turn. This move is fun.
Holy crap, that's epic!
I just got x100 and my lv 26 character i was grinding doubled its level
Damn! I'm still trying to get 100x at least once.
Happened to me today and I literally had to redo almost 3 hours since my last save...love hate relationship building for this move right now.
I got jp X100 twice recently and a jp X1000 at the middle of tressa's chapter 2 and I was freaking out every one had 20,000 jp points
All maxed out :3
Best strategy is to farm for Caits east to wellspring because they spawn every 20-30 battle but when they do 2 spawn at the same time. You can just keep running until you run into Caits and then use an M soul stone to kill both and then there always is 1 normal enemy left. Keep this one alive and just keep using BG with primrose with a max boost and keep using Ophilia's ult skill so she uses BG 8 times. I highly recommend a merchant/thieve combo as well since that combo can generate infinite SP and give it to the rest of the party. Now, if, and I say IF you succeed, congrats to you man, you got yourself an instant 120K exp or 66k JP. I actually was lucky enough to get 100X JP and I can confirm that you actually get 66k JP. That's enough to unlock all skills for 6 whole jobs! On 4 characters
Niki hmmmm just did that... But BG turned the last monster Into a Cait.... Lol, now deciding what to do lol
Bravestah yea it takes very freaking long, I have had that whay you said like 8 times today rip. But the reward you get from 100x xp or jp is too high to miss out on
Niki I'm still starring at screen, I wanna try another BG but scared Cait will flee lol
Bravestah you have to kill the cait straight away with a medium soul stone and then you keep using BG
This is a pretty good tip! Should try this out soon 😃
I remember playing Octopath while watching a streamer play it too and as we were chatting he told me about Bewildering Grace and how it can double EXP and JP. So I thought what’s the worst that can happen I might as well try it and for the first few battles it failed miserably... But during the 4th or 5th battle with it I saw “EXP X 100”. I then went crazy for a moment and defeated the battle claiming my 31,000 EXP getting me from level 35 to 45
I've yet to get any of the 100x! That would be so exciting!
AWESOME TIP!
My entire party jumped 30 levels in one fight when I fought a cate.
I got two 2x EXP and 100xExp
and 500 JP in one fight either is good too!
Damn! That's so good!
I’ve found that the mist thing happens a little too often. Just equip your characters with the anti silence accessory. Will save you a lot of defeats.
Greetings from Georgia, United States! Thank you for the video. I have yet to get the game, but the combat looks amazing. I love the complexity of options.
It's a lot of fun! Hope you're able to get your hands on it and try it for yourself!
Love your octopath content!
Thank you!
You can also summon Chubby Caits using bewildering grace. It’s the rarest effect of the skill
Bewildering grace is ok. It is annoying when it heals the boss when are halfway done
Definitely, I try to get it going before I start doing big damage.
Hey anamana! Been a big fan of this series, one thing I haven't seen much is people utilizing the cleric divine skill and its combos. My personal favorite is her divine skill (allows an ability to be used twice for one of your allies for 3 rounds) and tressa/merchant's "donate BP" ability. If you put the ability on tressa, and then donate out 2 BP, she will donate 4 BP, even if she doesn't have 4. BP to begin with! It can be really good when trying to bust out big plays with BP, such as using sorcerer spells, or doing insane healing with a cleric. Have you ever tried it?
Heard about this today, I'm just leveling up my party to unlock those divine skills! Been slowly chipping away.
Very useful, awesome.
I really enjoy your videos, can I ask why you chose the sub jobs you did for those characters?
Still taking time to level up characters, no rhyme or reason for choosing them, really.
I've summoned caits using this skill it's pretty sweet
I had that earlier tonight, it but it fled :
I just had a peculiar result with Bewildering Grace
A sort of dark haze surrounded my party and this message pops up: "You hear a whisper of death in the air". Needless to say, I didn't wait around for the end result in case that result was "instant death" for my entire party.
I would say this would be a "super rare" occurrence along with the x100 EXP and x100 JP results as this was the very first time seeing this after multiple hours of EXP/JP grinding today.
Damn, that's the worst! Hope you didn't lose much progress.
No progress lost. I quickly ended the fight before the effect could happen.
Oh good ☺️
FYI, been at this for 5 days now off and on while working on the stories (just completed Ch. 2 on all characters). I still have yet to see x100 EXP or x100 JP. Is there a chance that those possibilities were eliminated by SquareEnix in an update?
Nope, they’re just ultra rare. There’s been no updates to the game afaik. Have had viewers mention they got it over the past few days.
It's been shown that the effects are rare enough where it's rarely worth actually stalling in battle to try to get a beneficial Exp or JP multiplier. You will usually make more Exp/JP in the same amount of time by simply blasting thru the random battles.
It's usually better to just do the dance & hope for the best, and sometimes only if your one hitter quitter party member doesn't go before the Dancers. The only time it might be worth sticking around is if you've already killed a Cait & want to try for that 100x multiplier, although it can literally take HOURS to get sometimes!
I would say it's only worth doing if you get a battle with 2x fat cait's & are able to kill them both, THEN perhaps it'd be worth sticking around to try to get that 100x multiplier. Just have to hope you don't get an instant death effect first, which can and will happen!
This ability can be very flaky & shouldn't be relied on heavily for grinding.
It can also change an enemy into a cait. Which is a huge tease.
Ive done so many hours of this now so I think ive seen nearly every combination .... EXCEPT x100. At this point in my playthrough if I DO see it, it will be x100 JP considering that I have every class completely maxed out. Just my luck.
Anyway, back to farming Revenants for a stack of 99 Revitalizing Jams.
it can also HEAL and BUFF (def+att) if it summon the mushroom
just had it vs the dragon boss... the dance gave him 100% of his hp back+ 8turn of all bonus... wasted so many item to stay alive since kicked my tank-heal out of the fight everytimes
I managed to summon a heavy cait with bewildering grace. 3 large soulstones netted me some crazy rewards
Im using Thereon with the merchant as secundary job, u can double steal and collect with him, some enemies can give 3k gold each, and bosses from caves give me 20k more money
That sounds really useful!
Do the EXP/JP multipliers apply to the enemies you've already killed in a battle or are they only added to the ones you kill after it takes effect?
Everything I've seen online points to it being applied to the battle, not the enemies active.
It's actually only applied to the monsters that entered with the start of the battle. If a boss summons additional minions or a bewildering grace turns a monster into a Cait, the exp multiplier won't apply to those monsters (you'll still get the regular exp for the monsters though, which for caits is still large). There's a video where one of the top players of this game (first person to beat the final boss and post it on youtube) gets a cait and a x100 multiplier from the same bewildering grace cast (in that order, so the cait is on the field when the x100 activates), but the exp they get is only 31,000, rather than the 100,000 it should be.
Ive also had the dance summon a cait in place of a different enemy. Says somethijg like "dance tried to summon a rare enemy" but i imagine its a rare effect
Oh awesome! That would be cool if it summoned an extra one when you already had a Cait in a battle!
Thanks this really helped! 😊 you should do a gameplay of this! P.S Hi from Australia 😊😁
I'd love to stream it, been trying to find time lately. Also hello from Australia also!
Anamana! Ahh, great 😊 if so I would definitely attend 😁 just gotta get the time zones right 😅
One time I had Party 1Hp and the other dance was the explosion so i died 😭
This happened to me once also!
Did you have the Encore skill set to one or more of your party members? It automatically resurrects them with 25% health one time per battle.
DAMN lol
There is also a chance you can get instakilled by the dance tho.
Add on Rare: enemy turn into cait. It’s happened a few times for me.
I now farm with Befelgan's Bounty. Pretty easy to nick more than 10k gold/leaves in one match, all I have to do is to get enough Essence of Pomegranate and another character with Merchant to reliably give BP.
That's for gold only, of course. JP and EXP are at low priority for this.
I'll have to try this out! Thanks for the tip 😃
Does anyone know what Primrose says when she does Bewildering Grace? I can't understand what she says.
I got both exp and jp x100 in the same boss battle. Although I had dropped all my items poisoned everyone, and had multiple explosions
Joshua Lanjwal i highly doubt that happened
Was that the only time it happened? Have you been able to get it the second time? And what lvl or hours spent into the game did you get it? I had suceeded only once on two different boss (chapter 1) and have been using the skill since then, but haven't managed to get it twice although i'm already 35hours into the game. I wonder if its only a 1 time occurence.
Aditya Pratama that was the only time I got the x100 and I used a level 25 primrose. I have been trying for about two hours but haven’t got them again but I’m sure it is possible to get them more than once.
If it's an option, it can happen. Would be incredibly rare to have happen multiple times. Nice work, mate!
If someone can answer this question for me: if you use the cleric’s divine skill to have them repeat the same move twice without any SP cost, does using a max boosted bewildering grace allow it to be used 8 times?
shayminister 492 yes it will
A few times I've had the enemy turned into a cait and a fat cait as well as once I got 100x jp!!!
Oh man, that’s so good!
So I just had an effect that spawned in a monster and refilled all of the health of the boss I was fighting and gave him five turns of buffs
Have you seen a treasure monster yet? Ran into one early game and it gave me 3500xp. Leveled my entire party from like 10 to 17
Yep, got a Cait twice so far!
Also loving your channel! Excited to see what you do next after this game dies down a bit.
Probably Dragon Quest XI for new games and FFXV Comrades once that gets updated!
So do JP and XP boost expire or will it last until the end of the fight?
ive got a low level primrose and i only got bewildering grace first bcuz i heard it was good but when i used it all it did was a bad lightning strike did like 57 damage it was really annoying but hey it seems decent
I dont have the ‘bewildering grace’ option :( is there a certain level where i can acquire it?
I would love a guide on the best creature places to capture for H’aanit as the best I’ve got so far is level 5/6. In level 30. Got to all the second chapter cities but not started them.
I'll have to keep an eye on some monsters!
In the time it takes to get the xp/jp boost to proc, couldn't you have farmed at least that much just running around killing normally?
You could do both with one double cast per battle and have the best of both worlds. Nothing’s forcing you to keep attempting in one battle.
So im on my first playthrough and i managed to get the 100X exp bonus with cait before i even had all my party members. I didnt continue though, jumping to level 35 within the first 5 hours would be too game breaking on my first playthrough. I have a feeling i hit the lottery and that will never happen again...
I mean, you can break the game at very low level 🤷♂️
So far, all for detriment!
Can someone explain to me the whole secondary job system? Does each job only get 4 support skills?
I did a video a few days ago on this, check it out ☺️
But yes, only 4 support skills at any one time.
I wonder if the 100x exp and 100x jp are only able to appear once, I have gone 35 hours into the game with each fight using the BG skill but havent been able to get it twice or more. Only managed to get it on two seperate boss fights on the demo. Or its maybe it's just my luck that's awfully bad. Nice video tips btw, use the skill to get 5x exp when a cait appears and it should help a lot
I've still only had the 2x effects so far, my luck is pretty low haha
It's pure luck, and once in 35 hours is low but not insanely low. People were spamming it in the demo and one out of thousands of testers was able to get exp x 100 more than once within the 3-hour demo period against caits. Which, as can be expected, brought them to a truly ridiculous level, definitely over 40.
But anyway it's possible to get each x100 more than once within a game--RNG is RNG.
Tressa is like Madeline from dragons dogma
You forgot a Rare effect: summons a monster (mutant mushroom?) healing all HP and give atk/mag boost on all foes.
The mushroom one I mentioned as the monster that heals the enemy party.
I missed a few things, at the time a lot of effects when very well documented 😅
And I noticed something else: the tendency of the BG effects; sometimes I got almost only bad effects, sometimes the RNG was nice, and some other times mixed. If the effects are bad in general (after 8+ "tosses") you should end the battle and start another one!
EDIT: I got the EXPx100 when the RNG was average (against a boss), but don't hesitate to flee if the RNG ravage your ass before you get killed (actually trying this during a boss battle is not a very good idea, especially if you lowered his HP because he can be healed by the mutant shroom thing)
Good to know!
You missed a thing: There is a chance for one of the enemies to turn into a rare enemy (cait)
Yep, there’s probably quite a few I missed!
👍🏿👍🏾💯
I got 100x XP after trying for 2 hours at the start of the game. Then I just had to get Greedy and roll it again and exploded myself for 300HP.
Left me with 16 HP. Enemy sneezed 🤧 on me once, game over. Fuck My Luck & My Life
People conveniently forget that this method isn't very reliable. I used it for ~3 hours and got the x100 multiplier only once. Some people get it within a few uses.
I put in over 100 hours and never got the 100x multiplier once!
Add ophilias Divine skill and she can dance 8 times.
I keep forgetting to try this, thanks for reminding me!
Rats! I literally just finished grinding to lvl 45. I dont wanna spoil the area for you but its danger lvl 48 and you can actually go there at 40 if you play your cards right and youll get 600+ every battle without bewildering grace. I've never really used this move before so thanks for the info!
Nah, spoil away! Or if you're worried about others, maybe mention the area name only?
Anamana! Well alright then!
It's called the Forest of No Return located west of the arena gate. You can even encounter a battle with 5 bird type enemies and they're all weak to bows so they're easy to break and they'll give you 800+ exp everytime and that's without the bonus. But its less common than the other encounters, atleast it was for me.
I had dewildering grace hit my party for 8000 fire damage just after it took my whole party down to 1 hp. No thanks
Ooh, bad luck.
You've missed so many ways to make bewildering grace more efficient.
First of all you only need 1 dancer but you also need a cleric to cast their divine skill to make the dancer cast it X8. There are a ton of items/skills to use making it more efficient on the cleric/dancer. A common effect is 0 SP so sp recovery items/skills help. To prevent wiping just equip encore onto your cleric.
Also while bewildering grace can be fun it is an inefficient way of farming exp/jp
This is just explaining it for beginners, though. I make beginners guides, not absolute cutting edge ones.
never had even once 100x exp -.-
You whole party gets near death with 1 hp.
I have mixed feelings about Bewildering grace
As do I. It’s FAR to random and it could have a drastically negative effect making your whole team wipe....
I found that while the ability is quite nice, the double Exp doesn't really come up quite often. I've read somewhere that in order to maximize it's use to actually boost your BP, then spend them all casting Bewildering Grace, but I'm not sure if, for example, EXP x2 comes up first that the second, third, and fourth BGs actually overwrite the EXP x2.
Yeah, multiple casts with BP increase the amount of effects and chance at getting something good. Also bad too.
Go and watch OhRichards xp Guide. Makes a lot more sense and uses little to no Bewildering grace to reach max level. He basically says Bewidlering grace is a waste of time, which after watching the video and reading the info, it pretty much is.
Yeah, getting a lot of awesome info that proves counter to using it. Going to retitle the video, I think. This game has a really thoughtful and helpful community already!
Why nv show the map idk at whr to find tho and u speak too fast tho
What do you need a map for? It's a video explaining skills and talents.
Anamana! Sry i did not know abt it
I know this is an old video but you also missed one more super rare effect which is turning a random enemy into a cait
You forgot silence cast on all your team members. Had it happen almost every other battle or so.
currency is not gold.
Yep, it's Leaves. But Gold is a good universal term. The devs did a poor job naming their currency as it can be confusing to use in certain contexts.
