You shocked me yesterday when you predicted United to finish above Arsenal!! Really? Lets be honest united played pragmatic, almost park the Bus Football and hoofed it up to a Rashford in a purple Patch... Got away with Murder last year. 6th this season. Respect though Dave love your content.
Not with Onana, Mount and Hojlund
Utds main problem last season was goals (58). I can't see how they are going to improve that much in this area after signing mount and 9 goal serie a striker. Not to mention we don't know whether rashford will perform as well as he did last season.
Arsenals main problem last season was conceding too many goals (43). With the signings of rice, timber and raya i see that getting down to around 30 which is what u need to win the title. Btw utd also conceded 43 goals.
I don't see any compelling reason at all why utd would finish above arsenal. I honestly think arsenal now have a squad to get 90 plus points and i don't see city being as good as last season after losing gundogan and mahrez.

The partey disrespect continues. Dave no way can partey be benched his athletic and press resistant and of the dms is the best one the ball and also the best at controlling games. The latter point rice is actually the worse of the 3 we have

A fit Partey and Rice will always everytime and anytime see Partey starting. I lol anytime I see any analysis saying otherwise. If Arteta wants to play them both in a game, someone else has to go for Rice to play. Solid content as always!

Rice needs time to adjust. Crazy how he looked phoeniminal in Westham. They're best technical and physical player but coming in to Arsenal. He might be the weakest technical player in the team.
@@javierlandaverde4108Arteta used Rice as an advanced DM that played a box to box role, his work rate along with Timber and Partey pretty much choked out City’s midfield
Im ready for an everything challenge. I became a fan when sanchez and ozil moved to arsenal and man has it been rough. its really good to look at every area and not really be worried about injuries or quality, we have class players in every position and mikel has really been switching it up lately. I think we CAN do great things this year. We'll see in may 🙏

the expectation will be challenge for title. The reality of keeping pace with City is always hard though. The squad is in good shape for the demands of the season though.

I feel like Arsenal still needs more variety up front. Saka needs a competitor. A perfect Arsenal transfer would be a player that could replace Saka and also play as a 9. Someone like Julian Alvarez would've been perfect for Arsenal, but thats unrealistic obviously.
Someone you can just easily throw in on 9 when Jesus is injured and who can rotate with Saka to keep Saka fresh.
If Arsenal manages to find such a player it'll be a perfect transfer window for them .

Kudus is the target... If Balo learns to play from the right wing, then he can stay... Nelson or Vieira can also grow to learn that position as well...

Ehemmmmm........ His name is Leandro Trossard... Haven't seen Trossard play in that role for Arsenal but he has done it before at Brighton and it has worked. I think Torssard starts ahead of Rice and Havertz given how brilliant he has been in form in pre-season. Best in form Arsenal player and also had a successful season for Arsenal last year.
More variety? We have Saka, martinelli, Trossard, Jesus, nketiah, Nelson, havertz, Ø, Viera

There is a disconnect with midfield and Havertz... he has to learn to be as defensively solid as Xhaka was and as good a passing midfielder as Gundogan was for City... I think Rice can learn that golescoring role (to play along Partey) easier than Havertz can learn that solid midfielder role... the good thing is, they are both different options for different games or certain phases of the same game...

Partey as a makeshift RB could be insane as well. Something we saw him do late last season as white was shifted to CB.
Imagine a back 3 (likely saliba Gabriel and one of white, timber, kiwior or Tierney)
Rice and Partey (with Partey likely inverting from RB)
Then a front 5.

Gabriel Saliba Timber
Then win nothing again for the 4th season running after outspending every one

You're talking as if arsenal brought in Rice as a replacement or an upgrade for Partey which isn't true. I think Rice is a fantastic player but Partey is udroppable most games. I believe Rice will be playing most of his minutes as a LCM especially against tougher teams when you need solidity in the midfield. He can be either second pivot (as he did at west ham) or as LCM (as he did in the first game of the season).
What's great about Rice in my opinion is his versatility and his physicality and arsenal needs those attributes in their midfield.

Id drop Havertz for either Zinchenko amd Trossard to play as a the number 8. Both players have a better ability to dictate play than Havertz
To best understand how Arsenal will play this season, setup a checkerboard, then flip the table because you are losing. Look at how all the pieces fly everywhere. That's the Arsenal system this year, all the players everywhere. Hopefully, without the losing.

Why are people saying Kai played false 9 in the shield game? Was he coming off the line? Was he drifting off to create space for wingers to run into? No. That means, he was just the nine.
Havertz is not a 9, but he can play false 9 in the Arsenal formation. Arsenal are better with Partey and Rice in the line-up. Start there.

Arsenal appear to have it all to scrap for a title but just need that x-factor striker imho. Eg Haarland made the difference for City last season as a prime eg. Still City should fall off a bit after last season imho so Arsenal should be in the fight.

Can we swap Vieira, Nelson, Nketiah with slightly better options? Then we're Man City level in our bench and in every competition... I think this year we'll either go deep in UCL or fight for title in Prem, not both...

Imho Partey or Saliba were the best players in the Community Shield, agree. But Partey is injury prone so rotating him is going to play a big part.
No way is havertz on the bench. No matter what arteta will find a way to fit havertz in the first 11. I reckon partey will have to make way.
