    I remember seeing this fight on PPV at the D.C. Armory. Immediately after the fight a group of hispanic men (around 40) were gathered outside in the parking lot. Suddenly it turned into a tornado of men brawling. Apparently over the fight

      I’ll never understand comments like this. There’s more than just brawling. There’s an art to defense and counterpunching and Floyd mastered that.     The fight I never wanted to see. My two favorites going at it. It’s funny because I remember in a interview Oscar was asked if he would ever fight his idol Chavez, and he said no 🤦‍♂️

      Exactly, that really bamboozled me how he managed to pull that shot off, and he did that again close to the end, but connected with the body shot, then hooks, then started the vicious combos that sealed the fight, shown at slow motion near the end.
      The exact same move started the end of the fight.

But then again, Oscar made the perfect fight for him it was Chavez who fought against his anger that night and wasn’t able to fight Oscar.       @@anthonycampos8057 Foreman took a 15 year hiatus, while Chavez fought 4-6 times a year for almost a decade. He'd fight some journeymen, then go against a Juan Laporte or Haugen or Camacho, elite champions at the time and beat them all until Pernell Whitaker in his 89th fight.

    Sheesh a prime Oscar was dangerous for those who don’t analyze watch how he moves in n out on his toes so effortlessly. Had that heavy jab that didn’t look strong but definitely stung his opponents. Really bring life to the saying “you gotta fly like a butterfly sting like a bee”. Real fundamentals of boxing 🥊

    una de las cosas que siempre me ha gustado del boxeo es que una sola tecnica la puedes ensensar a 10 personas diferentes y literalmente cada uno desarrolla su propio estilo, oscar tiene muy buena tecnica en defensa y combate.

    I loved watching De La Hoya growing up and I dont remember this fight exactly so it was fun to watch but I get the feeling De La Hoya held back out of respect til the end.

      Digo para tener casi 100 peleas y 1 derrota vs 21 peleas pues nose que tanto pancho le hacen de que ya estaba de salida no creo que hubiera cambiado si chavez estuviera en su prime nunca fue alguien de poder era lento y si bien enfrento uno que otro rapido jamas enfrento a alguien como oscar rapido con poder en las manos con sangre mexicana disciplinado y que sabia contragolpear y sobre todo que no le tubo respeto la pelea de chavez vs taylor 1 dice mucho de la verdadera calidad boxistica de chavez
