    "I'm delighted to be here Every year for the next few hundred years."
    That's one hell of a commitment.

      It's not! Since his co-founder is Ray kurzweil, they might make it! You know that they r working on transferring the human brain into a computer! That's what Diamandis meant!

      The Jordan Complex that is a great question. Very few people are aware of what is going on. Actually that's what Peter Diamandis started with too... I'm not sure what would change it. I see SU opening the paywall a little bit and Abundance 360 also going digital. It's still in early infancy.

      Accelerationist We live in the best time to be a human in recorded history. Yes, climate change is very real and very dangerous but the average standard of living for most on the planet has radically improved and you can see that within just the past few decades, let alone the difference in life between now and 1000 years ago.

      because entertainment videos such as pranks, wtf and thuglife moments etc. are clicked a gazillion times more often.

    • @Anmeldn
      @Anmeldn Před 6 lety

      because on yt entertaining vids like wtf moments get more views, which means more people get them recommended. So Informative vids are ignored, unless you actually search for peter diamandis etc

    Maybe someone will enlighten me why we would want to upload our brain to the cloud. I am having difficulty with why and the relevance of doing so

    Between 1910 and 1945 we went from travelling by horse to killing with H bombs. That was progress. But from 1945 to 2020, twice the time, our pace of change is much less. We decelerated. Why? No wars between developed countries. The pandemics could be the catalysts for accelerated pace of technological change. Just like wars they rip things apart so we got to build them anew.

    How can you have unlimited abundance and an increasing wealth gap? Does Silicon Valley live in a bubble? I’d say more than just one.

    • @jcm730
      @jcm730 Před 6 lety

      Both are happening at same time. The standard of living for the poor is rising as the richest are getting richer. As the numbers showed in the beginning of this video..world poverty level is declining and we are under 10% for the first time in history. Soon it wont be the "haves and the have nots" it with be the "haves and the super haves"

    • @JBPVFL
      @JBPVFL Před 5 lety

      Just because someone is getting more wealthy, doesn’t mean the poorest is getting poorer. Both could be getting richer. If you are poor and mad that some rich guy is getting richer faster than you, do something different, don’t bitch about others.

    This might happen by 2050. Elon isn’t even close to the leader in autonomous vehicles. Many companies are far ahead of him.
