    I just called up Chase for a reconsideration. Thank you so much! I applied for the Freedom Student card, but because of my income and new credit, they had assumed I wasn’t a full time student. After talking with the rep and explaining that I work full time and go to school, he redid my application and I got approved!

    Was at 4/24 and Applied the advice you gave on combining hard inquires. Used my last slot to get approved from the Chase Freedom. Leaving me with the CF and CFU. Used a targeted pre-approval offer by Chase to Apply for Chase Sapphire Preferred. Initially got denied and I used this video for reconsideration line. After using the strategies in the video, I got APPROVED! I'm now at 6/24 and have my CHASE TRIFECTA. Thanks Ask Sebby, will definitely use your website for my next credit card and return the favor. (Didn't use it for the Preferred because I needed the Pre-approval to bypass 5/24).

    Old video but wanted to add my quick story. I have a 10 year credit history with scores of about 790. I was at 4/24 and so I wanted to get my first Chase card and went for the freedom since traveling is so up in the air right now (pun intended). I initially got the message saying we will notify you ASAP regarding a decision. Called the reconciliation number the next day since they were closed when I applied. Within 5 minutes was approved! Gonna wait a few months and get the Saphire preferred! Thanks Sebby!!!

They also expedited the shipping at my request and I got the card a couple days later. I didn't know anything about reconsideration lines until your videos. I'll establish a relationship with Chase and go for the CSR in a year. You've got some great content on your channel. Keep up the good work sir!

      People should never take credit card denials personally; the banks don't really know you. It's just your credit profile doesn't fit their standards at the time. Your profile will change a lot within a year. Chase is probably the best credit card bank there is, you're really limiting yourself.

    I tried to apply with Bank of America, the worst experience ever! Capitol One also gave me a bad time and never considered opening an account.. American Express approved me instantly, US Bank approved me in 2-3 days, and Chase also approved me after removing a security freeze from Equifax.. I don't know why BOA & Capitol One refused to work with me and were argumentative citing lack of recent installment credit, unable to contact me and other excuses. My credit file looks good and has a decent score with several tradelines, my student loans are also satisfied.

    Hey so a little update on my new card and a question. I got my chase card to buy a pair of $2000 tickets ($4k) knowing that I had the money to pay off the tickets immediately. I called in to get confirmation that this wouldn't cause a problem, and the customer care rep said it was all fine. I bought my tickets and paid off the card over the phone, and the next day chase put my account on a hold for review. Should I be worried and what steps do I take because all I wanted was to get that 50k UR bonus and I thought this would be the fastest way?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  Před 6 lety +4

      They'll probably unfreeze your account after the payment goes through. It really depends on how much spend you typically put through Chase. I ran into the same problem when I wanted to buy some tech stuff after getting a new card and they were concerned that someone stole my identity.

    Hey Sebby! I just applied for the Chase Freedom Visa credit card. My credit score is 737. I was denied based on "not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history". I called for reconsideration. I was denied again. I have a Discover It card that I got in January 2017. Which cards would be the easiest to get? I am trying to build up more accounts. Are there any secured cards with cash back bonuses? At this point, what would you recommend?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  Před 6 lety +1

      Is the Discover It a secured card? If it isn't, it doesn't make sense to suddenly go from unsecured to secured. I would look into the Citi Double Cash (long-term keeper card with good benefits). If you're bonus hunting, there's a few $150 for $500 spend ones, but you really want to minimize cards until you tackle Chase (due to the 5/24 rule).
      Each non-Chase card you get is a 5/24 card you won't be able to get.

    • @morganannelricaurtetannery3168

    I'm relatively new to credit (10 months since the first card), FICO 720, but I bank with Chase and got their FU 3 months ago. I pay off my debt on a weekly basis. If I apply for CSR right now and get rejected, is it possible for me to phone the reconsideration line and ask if it's possible to get preferred instead?

    Hey Sebby. I could really use your advice. I applied for freedom flex and have been waiting four days. They finally accepted, but sent me freedom unlimited. I sent them a secure message and told them I have pictures proving I was applying for freedom flex and that I didn't want the unlimited card as I was thinking of future downgrade of CSP to unlimited and getting or upgrading to CSR after 4 year bonus delay. They didn't ask me and canceled card after two days of being active as that's how long they took to respond. I asked about if this affected my credit score or 5/24 rule and they said this doesn't exist and gave me worst answers. I opened 2 cards past 24 months. 3 if you include unlimited. I have great credit score and I got rejection saying too many cards. What should I do? Thinking of calling reconsideration line, but should I wait a month?

    I recently had 2 applications that weren’t automatically approved, but they got approved within a few days without my having to do anything (unless the very act of calling the automated status line counts positively in some way).
    It seems strange that an application would need more time or a manual review. From the start, don’t they have all of the information they need to make a decision? In the case of a manual review, the credit specialists must be following some guidelines, so why not just program that into their software?
    I’m curious to know what’s going on behind the curtain.

    Applied for the Hyatt card (based off of your videos, thanks) and got the 30 day pending decision notice. Called the applications status IVR and got the "2 week" message. I was shocked as I hold a CSP card, which I had planned on upgrading, as well as Citi and other cards. A Google search indicates that they likely need to verify that I applied. Which do you think may be occurring, Sebby? and when should I call to speak with an agent? Thanks!

    Does a chase business CC application create a hard pull that negatively affects your credit score like normal cards?

    • @AskSebby
      @AskSebby  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, all credit cards = seeking credit = hard pull.
      As long as you have a good base of cards, hard pulls should only cause a 1-2 point drop (from my experience anyways).

    • @imperium2000
      @imperium2000 Před 6 lety +1

      Just Reviews from my understanding it applies to both but seems to have some other algorithm involved since the 3rd application is sometimes put into pending and not auto-denied if one the applications is a business card.

    @jacobperdomo521 Před 2 lety +1

    I got denied about 2-3 weeks ago they told me immediately that I got rejected to the Chase Freedom Flex. They gave me the reasons why I got rejected.
    -“Insufficient balance in deposit and investment accounts with us
    -Length of time since oldest credit card was opened is too short
    -One or more credit cards have a high balance compared to the credit line
    -One or more recent requests for new credit.”
    I was thrilled wondering how it is possible when my credit score says it’s 753.
    Anyways, I did what Sebby says to do in this videos and explained my situation with them. I told them that yes I owed some money (which I payed right away) but the the credit score read it like I still owe money but that up to this point I don’t owe anything in my credit cards. I told them I didn’t bank with them anymore because their bank is 1 hour 30 min away from me.
    So I asked, if their were anything they could do.
    • They verified my income
    • They asked me if I rent or own. I answered I owned
    After this questions they put on hold for a couple of minutes and they reviewed my application.
    They ended up approving me!!! I know as amazing it sounds they did it!! Thanks Sebby!!
    Hope my story helps someone. Don’t be afraid to call. What’s the worst thing that can happen?

    Hi, i have a question. If i used csr primary car insurance, does it affect my credit score or relation with chase? I got into an accident, which total the rental car, i got hertz's loss damage waiver, but im not sure will it cover it all.

    • @imperium2000
      @imperium2000 Před 6 lety

      MrAznToki it will not affect your credit score in any way unless you have an unpaid bill related to the accident. They are laws that prevent random none credit related stuff from being inserted into your credit report. Using Chases insurance should not cause any problems unless it becomes a regular occurrence.

    • @imperium2000
      @imperium2000 Před 6 lety

      If you got Hertz loss waiver, CSR insurance does not activate or apply. It’s spelled out in the guidelines on how to use the benefit. You’ll need to use your own insurance or pay out of pocket.

    • @MrAznToki
      @MrAznToki Před 6 lety

    • @imperium2000
      @imperium2000 Před 6 lety

      MrAznToki if you use any other insurance from the rental company, all credit card rental insurance that I’m aware of will not be considered active. You can try to call the back of the card and try but I’m doubtful they’ll allow it. Sorry.

      The algorithm will count AU cards so you'll need to call reconsideration to let them know that it's AU and shouldn't count since you're not legally responsible for those debts.
      In many cases, I would just remove yourself unless you need to be on those cards.
