  • What does it mean to be ‘Made in the Royal Navy’? For Amelia, it’s her crew-mates and mentors within the Navy that made her who she is, right from the very start and continue to help her grow every day.
We asked Amelia how mentorship and her time in the Navy have played a part in becoming who she is now.

Hi there, it's unrelated to the video, however, I was just wondering if it's possible to have videos looking more into the Warfare Specialist branches.
I've read the PDF, but I was wondering if there would be any more in-depth information that would be available for the public outside of training. For example, the day to day life of someone who say is in the Underwater Warfare branch; and what the training is like for that specified branch, if possible.
Thank you for the other videos, they're super helpful and interesting.

Hi there, thanks for the request! We do have a video about life as a Warfare Specialist in the Submarine Service here: czcams.com/video/VTzrITHzVxc/video.html it's only one example of a day in the life, and in the Royal Navy no two roles or experiences are the same, but hope that helps a bit. If you've not been on our website yet we have more details about the role here: www.royalnavy.mod.uk/careers/roles-and-specialisations/services/surface-fleet/warfare-specialist

She left the navy after two years because the lay was so low, she now works at Waitrose and earns double what she did in the Royal Navy.

Both offer great opportunities to travel, the army in my opinion, would staying still a lot and in one place where as the navy you get to travel a lot. Just up to you really and what you want to do.

@@CallumThomas104 Basically what Callum said, research say 3 jobs from both the Army and Navy, that you'd like to do, weigh the pros and cons, speak to a careers advisor with the armed forces, look heavily into army corps / regiments you'd wish to join as well. There's so much more but just research everything about the role you're wanting to do before you make a decision, and like I said before, speak to a career's advisor, but at the end of the day it's your choice what you want to do.
