I love this tutorial. I can never make a Lanyard Knot unless I follow along with this.

I actually started this channel just for me to remember how to tie knots. Then others started to watch and I created a bit of a monster. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.

nice tutorial JD where do you get your paracord from ?

I get my paracord on ebay, search for Paracord 3mm

I had a bit of trouble following this tutorial toward the end when creating the “double diamond”, due to nothing but the coloring of the paracord and my progressive bifocals. I think I completed it correctly the first time out of sheer luck. 😄

I only just the other day thought that this video needed updating. I have done a new one using nice fat cordage here: czcams.com/video/ROL2a8TkB0E/video.html

Thanks for a great video, I really like the tool you have. What is it called and do you know were to buy it?

I think you are referring to my Grip Fid. My Grip Fid is actually a tapered Grip Fid, in other words it can deal with a variety of cord thicknesses. It is very hard to find someone that actually makes them, despite the fact that they are so useful. Thanks for taking the time to view and also make a comment, very much appreciated.

Showing the diamond in the middle of the Carrick bend might make it easier to see the pass through concept. Enjoy your videos, just wanted to offer that one suggestion.

Many years ago, I saw some navy sailors that had a knife lanyard with a loop that would go around their waist with a knot that would allow for adjustment of the size of the loop (I.e. make it tighter around the waist). The other end probably had a lanyard knot tied in it, so you could stow the pocket knife in your pocket. Do you know what that other knot might have been? Thanks.

Hello Colin, I am wondering if it was knots on their belts, or could it have been the rope turned back on itself and then a "Lazy Splice" was created where you could adjust the belt with the loops that created: czcams.com/video/l_bxz8Jn8E8/video.html Using the lazy splice would need less cordage than tying loops into the cord. However if tying loops, maybe consider using the Alpine Butterfly Loop, as it has a nice symmetry to it: czcams.com/video/PZN61xt9Y70/video.html
