This is so helpful, thank you! Question on the trap. Is there a preferred orientation? In this instance it appears the more vertical leg of the trap is downstream of the standpipe. In your whole home rough in video, a similar setup seemed to have the reverse orientation. Also, why is the clean out necessary? Can’t you remove the AAV for access?
Nice videos…subscribed. How would you do a washing mashing box install side by side with a utility sink? And does each fixture in this instance need its own trap ?
I’m wanting to move my machine to another room. I plan on putting a new trap under the box like you’ve done, but the weir or the horizontal run will have to go 8’ along the interior wall , turn a 90*, and go another 5’ to the drain and vent of the original location. Concrete floor and not sure if this will work. My other option is to go the 8’ through the interior wall and exit the building where the dryer will vent, and bury it in a trench to a ditch. Do you have any advice?
New Subscriber...Great content!! Just finished a new build and the washing machine and ice maker drains make an awful gurgle noise when they drain. Could this be from improper vent connection distance as noted in your video? Other thoughts ? Thanks !
Why is it important to have this minimum length for trap weir? My current setup is 2 couplings back to back and haven't had any issues (25 year old home).
Didn’t you mean 2” pvc and not 3”?

Florida code is similar. Our cleanouts are 6" above flood level rim of fixture. Nice job
I'm impressed how different this is to the European standard...
If the second drain in the box is not used for water softener, then can it be used for an air admittance valve?
Can you vent washer drain pipe in a pony wall? I am planning to put washer and dryer under kitchen island if possible.
Do you follow UPC, IPC or another plumbing code in North Carolina?

Can you do a video on where air admittance valves are allowed?
