I missed the live chat, but I want to comment on that first caller. He was so inspiring to me, through the tears. I’m right there, feeling those same feelings of grief (and ptsd) . Thanks to him I was reminded to make it a better day and to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's just horrible how because of their NEED for chaos and drama they taint EVERYTHING...

Getting divorced didn't stop the abuse for me. Actually it got way worse. Going completely no contact was the only way to stop it. Looking back I can't believe it took me so long to do it'.

Same thing with me. It’s like they get even angrier that you broke away, and they can’t control you anymore. My ex never misses an opportunity to verbally abuse me, and be an expert archeologist, digging up the past. She reeks of anger and regret.

@@shane6284 mine was really good at the mind games. Most of the rumination problems I have come from the games she played after the divorce. A couple years after going no contact she was diagnosed with lung cancer and quickly died. I felt a really big sense of relief hearing that she was ded. But then I felt guilty for feeling relieved. It was like a mind f*** from the grave. But I'm pretty much getting through that. Of course it's relieving when you're abuser is no longer on the planet.

Same here Brain... I *thought* things would "calm down" after divorce but I was WRONG-E-MC-WRONG-WRONG on that one. I mean it's "different" but it doesn't go away. No contact is a godsend if you don't have kids - hybrid no contact if you do.

I feel terrible for when the other parent wants to show up but they have had a wrongful restraining order put against them.

You won't get your money back. But you might get your life back.
