Great explosion sound! Japanese Puffed Rice [ASMR]

- We would like to thank ATHA, who sells puffed grains on the move in Kyoto, for his cooperation.
It seems that the origin of puffed grains is in the United States.
In Japan, there are various names depending on the region.
There are Bakudan, Don, Bomb Hail, Hadeko, Patrice, and Hachagumi.
We will deliver a video of the bursting (explosion) scene of the nostalgic puffed grain and how to make it.

It’s probably just a service.
When I was a kid in China, these were everywhere. I used to watch it for hours after school on my way home. The BOOM is always worth it in the end.
I live in Hawaii and of Japanese ancestry. We had Japanese puffed rice of different colors growing up in the 50s-60s. I don’t see them anymore. But watching this made me understand why it was called Japanese snack.
I bet it tasted wonderful I have to settle for the kelloggs crap. Im desperate to try Japanese puffed rice 👍
@@WEAREDERBY1884 It prolly tastes absolutely identical because Smacks literally is just Puffed rice with some extra sugar.
@@TechischannelSmacks are puffed wheat grains with honey. Rice krispies are the other one like this.
@@johnbeton4058 Wheat really is just dry rice. But thanks for the info.
@@Techischannel 🤣 ok man wheat is dried rice.
How polite of him to announce the loud sound he was about to make
This was the coolest Rice Krispie treat video I’ve ever watched 😂
Wow..looks lovely and clean too
Is the rice prewashed or polished? Always see rice washed under water before preparing otherwise.
Very similar to kettle corn. I bet it’s tasty.
I want rice bubbles now. YUM
Soooo…. Weapons-grade rice crispy treats. Nice!
Not the same. Rice krispies are baked I believe
Idk if this could be necessarily considered ASMR but it's definitely an interesting watch 😊
It's for those who grew up eating this as snack .

In chicago usa Quaker Cereal prepared their puffed rice like this seller and it was sold plain and sweetened.Their slogan was shot out of cannons .When you would pass by the factory sometimes you would hear the explosions

That was awesome! I wonder if he invented that machine like some mad scientist, lol!💥
It was a great blast😅

This is popular in Korea too, tho it's usually non-glazed. I'm surprised they pour syrup right after it's puffed out.
Like our Kellogg rice crispies,dilicious

Quaker Puffed Rice and Puffed Wheat cereals were popped this way, but on a much larger scale, and were advertised as being "shot from guns".
Very nice sir....
In Iran We are In West Asia But like the people of East Asia, we have been growing rice for thousands of years and Rice has a high place in our culture. We also have many sweets, drinks and snacks that are made from rice
like this puffed rice that we make with grape Syrup or Palm Syrup!!
in childhood There was always an old man selling Puffed rice and wheat in our alley on a bicycle, sometimes we didn't have money to give him and he was so kind and gave it to us for free !
Is he putting the rice in a vacuum to make it puff?
This is definitely a shared heritage of folks from North Eastern Asia (Eg, China, HK, Taiwan, Korea, Japan.
Exists all over Asia not just the North and Far East, as long as rice is a staple.
This is a very common snack prepared during festival by Bengali community of India. Making this sweet is an old tradition. Incidentally saw the video and really surprised to see the same preparation in Japan!!
Jhal muri will be a hit over there
That was so interesting to watch. The pressure the rice must be under in the cooker is insane! When l was a child there were no fancy breakfast cereals available but in the 1970s we could buy puffed rice. I LOVED it but, it wasn't sweetened like this stuff is and we ate it with milk. Is this just eaten like a candy or is it used as an ingredient?
I also loved puffed rice. You could buy chocolate bars that were just milk chocolate with puffed rice pushed down in them. That was my favorite when I was 10 or so.
Puffed rice is a very common thing in india. You can put a handful of it in your mouth while sipping your evening tea. There are many recipes in which puffed rice is used. You can also have puffed rice balls binded with caramelized sugar syrup. Another recipe is spiced puffed rice with many ingredients. It can be soaked in sweetened milk and taken as mini meal anytime.
@@RegebroRepairs You've reminded me, I'm pretty sure we could get something like that here in Aotearoa/ New Zealand too. Cant remember if the who,e bar was puffed rice or not though. Picnic bars and Chokito bars have a layer of puffed rice covered in chocolate around the outside of them and are pretty good. Won't eat Cadbury anymore and haven't seen a Chokito for years but, l want one now. Lol.
@@Dave_en Yum. They all sound pretty good.
@@nikiTricoteuse You can also try recipes made with beaten rice. They can be deep fried or air fried. Can be made into balls using caramelized sugar. Its so simple and inexpensive that even poor people have it in their daily routine.
When I was a kid, I used to feed puffed rice to koi fish.
I ❤kei-trucks!
what is the liquid he pours over the rice. salt or sugar.? fascinating. would love to try it.
It's sugar syrup. This is one type of pressure popped sweetened snacks sold in Asia by street vendors. The other popular one is kettle corn, which is also sweetened.
@@supdawgtt94 thanks fo th einfo. but being a diabetic, with several ambulance trips to hospital over out of control blood sugars, that regretably put me out... still look great fun.
@@sandybarrie5526 It's tasty without sugar and you can make cereal with it by adding nuts, dried fruits and other grains
@@Gun5hip Ahhhh. now that is what I would love... hoping to go to Japan before Christmas... would love to try this.
rice krispy treats you gotta try melted marshmellos and butter
;)~ I could imagine a huge bar , I'd eat the whole thinglol
Looks like Kellogg’s Rice Bubbles
Pon gashi 😊
Can someone please explain this process?
Does anyone know the birthplace of this asia snack? I've seen that in China, Taiwan, and Japan but someone said India has this snack too.
In India we call this pori urundai. Pori meaning puffed rice and urundai meaning ball/round shaped.
Added with iron and oxide, only for the most demanding palates...
This looks like what we know as "rice krispy treats"
Yeah but not the same texture. Rice krispies are baked which gives them a crunchiness. Rice puffs are puffy like air in them
