Yes theres a reason 2stroke dirt bikes have different types of aftermarket pipes, some give low end some are rippin the top end, these boxes as a exhaust seems like theres alot left on the table, maybe iam wrong, but the bark box is just more free flowing is all ive noticed if its intake isnt modded/free flowing/larger then your not really gaining much
An easy train of thought for when playing with intake and exhaust mods...is that an engine is not much more than an air pump...and the more air you can bring in and push out and the more efficiently you can do it/no hard corners and understanding airflow the more power that engine will make...so what I'm saying is as long as your muffler mod actually allows for the engine to pull and push air easier than you can bring your fuel up to match and there should be almost no way you're not making some amount of power more than you were before
Sylvia is lookin nice sittin on the yard there, really like that color 👍 Bellhopper has a lot of really good informative videos, he’s helped me figure out many problems.
Muffler testing, I'll watch it all day buddy. Need a design for my pm700. I've had the best luck with just opening them up. Shrink the chamber and let it exit out of a good size port that's partially open to the exhuast port on the head. Give it a flat surface to create the pulse and then a quick exit. Love testing designs on saws. So fun.
Great video Buckin! I modded my cs590 echo for giggles and wow! I capped the original port and busted a hole in the front of can then added a 3/4 inch copper pipe for the exit. The sustained rpm in the cut improved dramatically. I didn’t expect anything. Fortunate accident! Have fun!
STIHLS like dual tubes out the front (diameter depends on cc of saw ) approx 2.25-2.75 inches long. On my 395xp and 572xp I use a 3/4 single tube - gives good torque and mileage. I wouldn’t mind trying one of those “Bearclaw” key to the bush mufflers if ya offer that product ... if ya don’t maybe ya should 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Bucking, the Bearclaw muffler sounded free when you cracked the throttle. Now I couldn't hear the difference during the cut, but my hearing loss only allows me to perceive so much. Love your videos. I try to watch everyday. love your way of thinking with being kind. It is a good thing.
BBR sounded to me that Walkers muffler allowed the saw to breathe easier and come to RPMs faster..I did see the cut test for both. I agree that on the cut B held the RPMs better..Good as long as you dont overheat the cylinder/piston...Good luck my friend!!
Greetings, hello and howdy, glad you found one of the best mentors alive today. Even though I'm older than Buckin Billy, i feel that he is a mentor to me as well as a friend, a teacher and a father figure. His content goes back 6 or 7 years. Some incredible tree climbing/ cutting and other stuff. Pass around the peace and bee kind.
When I'm working on a power saw and restoring it, I have two words that keep resonating in my brain throughout the entire process....."Just Breathe"!!!! Love you all...❤️❤️❤️ Lieutenant Bradley
You and I both know buckin from listening to 2 to strokes for many many many years 2 strokes like more RPM. Ben's muffler sounds like it has better RPM. to me knowing 2 strokes more RPM means better in the wood too. which you just said yourself so good job😁👍 love the muffler testing
I'm going crazy! Today I watch Ax Man on DMax and hear the speaker say “... Billy.” Since the TV was on in the background, I didn't look directly. When I watched it straight away, I saw Bucking Billy Ray on my favorite Sunday morning show. He bought a small, rare Homelite chainsaw and had to go into hiding because of a strong storm ...
Hey buckin Wuts up brother , I passed this info on to Ben Hall and I'll pass it on to you also the clutch cover on the 455 andc460 ranchers will fit the 357 and 359 it has the chain adjuster on the side .
You’ll always get a thumbs up from here Buckin! Even if I can’t watch the whole vid because of work you are still getting a 👍 I just don’t find anything to disagree with!
buckin which muffler you like the best I would use I my self like straight exhaust my self it the breath better chainsaw or powerunit it has more power 12 11 2021
Whats the difference between a custom muffler versus just pulling the spark arrestor. So the saw can just breathe. I did it on my stihl 361 by accident and on purpose of my 251.. Then we were volunteering to clear some trees at a church camp. The other guy had a husky 550, that was new and went from running ok. To running poorly. We pulled it and runs like a race saw. Its a humid area so a stray sparks nota issue
My good friend Billy I analyze your expertise because I am a chainsaw nut I never liked to husqvarna's but I have lately started loving them. Because of special certain things but what I've got to ask you is what is the very very best muffler performance is it a single or a double is the ram horn better or is the ripsaw better and a dual or single I want you to write me back and tell me because I'm trying to get the best power out of saw
Man what does a guy have to do to get mufflers like those on his husky 394xp and 372xp both of my saws would be fantastic if they both had a little more pull
Was looking for a pipe for my 372 and found some on eBay. Look them up, they actually look pretty cool and I’d say it’s definitely an improvement over original muffler design
You can’t beat a hollow exhaust with two round duals coming out but the trick is to resess the duals into the muffler so you get the cough effect and then it’s shoved out
I love hot saws in controlled environment. For using in the bush I recommend USF approved spark arrestor. I love you and your channel. However would be bad to start a forest fire eh! Do not want a a fanboy experimental exhaust burning any timber. Where walks a Logger walks a Man. God Bless and Merry Christmas.

The key to 2 stroke exhaust tuning is all about how the pulses line up and create the vacuum effect you are looking for.
Yes theres a reason 2stroke dirt bikes have different types of aftermarket pipes, some give low end some are rippin the top end, these boxes as a exhaust seems like theres alot left on the table, maybe iam wrong, but the bark box is just more free flowing is all ive noticed if its intake isnt modded/free flowing/larger then your not really gaining much
@@wolverinebear5357 I %100 agree with you on that. I have seen way too many people straight pipe a two stroke and it just sucks
Send what you think works best to DynoJoe and answer all questions. Proof is in the pudding.
The muffler is everything for 2 stroke!
What a gem of a truck... and that condition of that canopy is fantastic... Totally completes it.
To the trained ear you can definitely hear a difference great to have you changing them out to test them out. Great vid Buckin

Great little Muffler Ben that's a dandy. Sounds good and creates pull through the cut. Lovin it. Love ya brother . 🌲❤🌲✊🪓
RPM is a saw’s friend. Cuts faster and the fan moves more air and runs cooler.
More rpm more oil also
Great video, good way to unwind after all my Saturday chores
Barkbox bang out
Love the messages in your vids mate .all the best from a tree feller in England 🇬🇧 👌
Thanks Buckin, great video. Love the muffler test. Like the Bearclaw sound and pull. Be kind everyone! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤

I love this kind of content
Donny Walker said he has a Dyno, if he would get it going again and put the different mufflers on a saw and see what stats you get .

buckin which muffler you like the best I would use I my self like straight exhaust my self it the breath better chainsaw or powerunit it has more power 12 11 2021
Get er done!
In your area are there restrictions on muffler mods, due to potentially forest fires? (JF)
Bingo KS thanks for thinking it through when your saw spits pieces of piston rings when it is failing they are pretty hot 🥵
Ahwoooo love this stuff Ahwoooo ❤️ 👍👍👍
Ooohhh ooohhh is this the s550????????

My Grandpa had a Pro Mac 55 with a big Rectanglar hole in it . Boy was it loud ! But now I know why !!! It cut !
The Dyno would map it out which is better.
You can’t beat a hollow exhaust with two round duals coming out but the trick is to resess the duals into the muffler so you get the cough effect and then it’s shoved out
@@alexstromberg7696 that is basically what I was talking about it does the same thing
Where can I get the bear claw muffler for my 562xp
