Love it!
The common link with these videos is the flight crew being so calm and professional. All the best in these tough times guys and girls.
Thanks for the great video, cheers. As a non pilot it's always fascinating watching what goes on in the cockpit and it's fantastic to get the chance to see the birds eye view of the landing from the 'windscreen'. These videos never lose their watchability. Subscribed.
Well done. Gives non-fliers a glimpse of the activity in the front office, esp when in IFR conditions,
Outstanding. Very professional and friendly
From a former airline pilot
....one of my favorite approaches was LGA from the West, over Brooklyn and Queens, with visual cues such as the BQE, a water tank near Shea Stadium/Citi Field, and more printed on the STAR
The Expressway Visual 31 approach
@@RatedPG20 thanks for the reminder......even better than piloting an approach........jump seating on a clear day, and getting an extra 15 minutes of great NYC views .....when a new FO comes in too high on a visual, and needs to go missed :)
and the city tore those tanks down years ago. Growing up in Brooklyn, that was a landmark for us. The good ole Greenpoint Tanks.
The expressway visual isn’t run anymore. As of a year or so ago they came up with a new procedure called the “park visual 31,” flown as RNAV X 31. It’s a procedure approach aimed to reduce flying over Arthur Ashe stadium due to noise complaints.
@@berzerker4998 Cool...thanks for the update! Yep, I've been to the U.S Open/Arthur Ashe Stadium many times...but as a pilot....I rather liked the "noise" :)
Great perspective view on the external-looking cam inbound. Thanks !
Awesome vid. Like the inclusion of the briefings and checklist.
thats my cockpit soon , love air canada , love canada , canadians and being a aircanadas pilot .
i love watching professional crews ... and that f/o will be a great captain in the future !
Rayan Altowayan probably is! Over 9 year old video.
What cool pilots 😉 Love seeing the checklists and close ups of the cockpit screens.
Fantastic filming and cockpit views!!
JP....many thanks.....nice weekend ;-)
Greetings Betsy.
Great videos, keep them coming. Waiting to go to school for my ATP license. :)
One of the things I love about Canada is how they use different terms versus the US whenever feasible. I chuckled when he called for the after landing procedure versus the after landing checklist
It’s not a Canadian thing, it’s probably an Air Canada thing. They do things a little different than everyone else. So does WestJet.
In my plane it’s just checks (checks is done silently and alone by the pilot monitoring vs a checklist which is a challenge response procedure) so I just say after landings or after landing checks.
Very Nice Landing
Excellent video guys!!!! done really well and I would fly with you guys anytime
they will never see your comment, this is from JP, on a DVD and not an individual video.
The best airline in the world.
Interesting yoke, never saw one like that before!
Typical on the Embraer. (sp)

Nice short landing ✌️
9:32 me to my student every other touch and go on short final.
Lol same. You still instructing?
Amazing.
Damn. I think we can all agree... coolest job on earth: Fighter Pilot.
But I think, running a close second.... ANY pilot.
"Are we cleared to land?" Brilliant! Bit late when on final and almost on the runway, but as the saying goes: Better late than never... 🤣
Peter Schaller I have seen that on few others Air Canada landing. They crosscheck its good crm.
That’s a pretty normal question. Sometimes when airports are busy they’ll delay the landing clearance till the last moment. They had been cleared for the approach long ago, so even without a landing clearance, they were doing no wrong
isn't 500 feet a little late to be checking if they were cleared to land?
These guys are probably both captains on the 320 now and in a few could be in the heavies.
Oh Canada 🇨🇦
I Thought Air Canada only have Bombardier regional planes. Brasilian airlines only have Embraer jets for regional routes.
Is important to notice how these new planes can break ! Impressive !
At the time Bombardier had no competing aircraft. The CRJ is too small and dreadful for high capacity routes like this while the C-Series was years away.
Good video, please add more PFD on the camera during final, rather than side window video, much more interesting to watch the pdf especially when off autopilot. Thank you.
Are we cleared to land? Good question.
We are cleared to land.. ROGER
8:00 controller sounded like Patrick Hartan
All very entertaining. I'm impressed with the automation; but it still strikes me one way. How do you keep your skills sharp if you are not hand flying except on short final & on takeoff only before the wheels are up? When I was actively flying IFR you needed 6hours & 6 approaches every 6 month as a minimum. I didn't consider any of that to be with the autopilot engaged. (My rule)or FD

I like the shape of stick!
That airport was made for DC4s and DC7s and has never been upgraded..
I want to be a pilot when I am younger
If you really want to do it, start as soon as you can - you don't want to be 60 years old thinking, "man, I wish it wasn't too late to become a pilot". I've seen people in their 40's decide to start flight school to become airline pilots.
Getting my education on how these pilots land the plane.
I always wanted to know, how ergonomic is this yoke? Can somebody answer?
Love that yoke.
You can tell these fellas have been here before.
Love air canada's new livery! Please reply this comment if you do like the new livery! And please like too!One more thing,I loved your premiere!!!
Всем привет !!
how old is this video because us airways was there and delta had the old livery.
Filmed in 2011.
Question: why turn off Flight Director during manual approach?
Since it’s a localizer approach, the flight director isnt providing any vertical guidance below MDA.
He would have the company of 5 or so planes now.
I couldn't help but notice the unusual pitch attitude at FL290 prior to decent @ .591 mach? Isn't that rather slow or were they slowing for a steep decent? I never slow that much prior to my decent. 737 NG. UFO @ 3:26. Even the camera person spotted it.
No ufo just a reflection off the water
I want to be a pilot when I am older
mdo686 ikr want to fly an a350
@@cpt.stealth433 Have you considered going through the Air Force? "Mover" C.W. Lemoine has a YT channel and he was AF flying F16's/F18's and is now an airline pilot flying 757's/767's. His channel has all the info you'd need to either go straight to airlines or via the AF.
Amy Ann Thanks will check the channel out 🙏👌👌
@mdo686 What do you consider "stinky pay"? Before the Corona ordeal, regional airlines where starting out around 55-66k per year for first year FO's. Thats much better than 25k that pilots were paid starting out in the not so distant past.
mdo686 that’s a good point!
hi
How old is this video
Nowadays, Air Canada uses Airbus A220-300s instead. I've been on this route twice this year!
Will never understand the reasoning behind those handle bars.
Apparently they feel more comfortable than Boeing yokes according to an embraer captain
@@BIOHAZARDXXXX they ugly tho
@@wyxir4191 id rather be comfortable than worry about the shape if the yoke.
Function over form
You can see Rikers Island just off of the runway...
That NY controller sounds a lot like the guy from the Miracle on the Hudson video. I'm thinking it's the same guy!!
Doesn't Sky Regional operate Air Canada's e175's and not Air Canada mainline/legacy
This was back in 2011 when they were mainline.
Paper Jepps, how old is this?
Only Airbus and Boeing have ipads.
The Jepp is 2011
What make of sun glasses
Prada
Filmed in 2011 .... I knew it was old because they are using paper not tablets.
Embraer.
He's at 500 and he's confirming if they're cleared to land or not. XD
Yep its perfect CRM, any doubts ask! Its LGA the frequency is clearly crazy BUSY so much movement so many call signs and clearances, taxi instructions so by confirming the landing clearance with the FO, thats precisely what you do if unsure great job, Jeff is a amazing pilot and Air Canada is one of the best airlines with the best pilots! :) lolll!! Clear skies and tail winds and wash your hands lol
fly Q400 agreed. Perfect CRM. Excellent communications.
Hey 3rd worlder, you are totally right about this guys. Canadians totally suck at everything. Their whole country is garbage. This is like the worst airline in the world. Its really shameful for us to have these wimps as our neighbours. That they actually feel like they compare to us in any way is such a joke to us.
D Hardy I cant tell if ur joking or just have a low IQ lol
That's pretty normal for the busy airports. There's so much going on that you can easily miss it or simply forget. If you have any doubt just ask and if I'm PM and not 100% sure, it takes 2 seconds to find out.
Old video. The old tower is still up.
Omg lol
Im scared of airplanes

‘I Love Lucy’ reruns are fun too. Honestly, maybe you could present a video from this decade?
What a complicated, non-standard, “home made” checklist. Embraer’s own lists work VERY well. Seven airborne items. Which whizz kid thinks they know more than the manufacturer?
And of course the PTH disappears if you override the A/T but the question then becomes, why use Path? It’s rubbish.
00:17 "RWY thirty-one". Ummm. "RWY three-one", innit?
This is how you know I just work up saying why is air Canada flying to La G. Smh
Looks like the Embraer 175 is not Berry stable..the pilot was shaking...
Air Canada replace Embraer for A220
Cool video. But I don't understand a word this dude was saying.
