    Great airline, great pilots, and amazing aircraft. The E175 is an amazing aircraft, and I did enjoy my time on them. I enjoy meeting these pilots, and I enjoy listening to these pilots; he was very detailed about how they do things. An amazing view outside these windows. From these videos, DC is beautiful flying into and out of their airport. I thought it was great to see Andrews AFB and the airport from above as well. Awesome takeoff and landing; the plane sounds amazing. I love the taxi; you get to see other amazing aircraft. You can tell this is an older video when you see an old livery for Delta, US Airways, and AA. Anyways, awesome video; I love it all.

    No matter what approach, it's always fun flying into DC! One of the few times pilots really get to fly, next time film the landing from the 'North Approach", lots of fun flying. I was born here and love watching the planes land at National!!!!

    At 27:23 What he means is that 'these Americans' always seem ready to gamble with safety procedures. THIS I had came to understand at a very young age from people who were working at the national airport in my country. They told us that 'these Americans' just didn't care and always seemed ready to so to speak 'beat the clock'. No matter how bad the weather forecast were, once they've arrived on the airport and had made up their mind to go, NOBODY especially in a Third World country could prevent them to take the gamble....In case you didn't notice: they didn't ask the pilot about his familiarity with the alternative. The pilot BEING A CANADIAN, of course is more than familiar with this US mentality. Politeness nonetheless forces him to so to speak invite YOU to READ BETWEEN THE LINES!!!

    • @Jackfrost751
      @Jackfrost751 Před 3 lety +2

      I think you’re being a little bit presumptive about US pilots which statistically are the safest on the planet. That being said, his reasoning is sound as he is PIC and makes the decision but often times at airports with runways so large and given the fact that he was on a visual, a quick glance at runway distance and a right turn about 30 degrees to intercept a new final approach course would be far from dangerous given that conditions were VFR and he was hand flying. In fact you can hear him almost a accept the new runway but then last second says no. My guess is this is more than likely due to the fact that it was the “right decision” and the cameras were on him. I think if the cameras weren’t there he would have side stepped it as I know I would have and so would many other commercial aviators.

    Puh-tome-ick river please. Worthy of proper pronounciation since it is steeped in our history, most impotantly the American revolution and, much later, the place where a poorly trained under qualified 737 Captain iced up, stalled, hit a bridge, and killed a whole bunch of people
