- Hey guys in this video we are going to go over the new Primary Datalink Track mode for the DCS F-16C Block 50 Viper JHMCS. This new mode will definitely up the situational awareness of all DCS World F-16C Pilots and in my opinion is the standout feature of the latest open beta update to the F-16.

The new Primary Datalink Track mode of the HMD is a very welcome new addition to the DCS F-16C and help bring it up to par with the F/A-18C!
Glad they also fixed the little cross hair on the HSD. Not having that reference to where the TGP was looking really hindered AG ops in the Viper, especially when not using JHMCS
Great video, "as always", Spud!
Yes! I had a feeling there was a way to do this, thanks for the video my friend
Nice thanks for sharing! Love to the F-16!
Wow! This is enormous!
0:00 "Hey guys, Spud here, and today..." - Impostor! What have you done to Spud? :)
Thaaank youu :)
It would be great if you could zoom in when showing and changing things as it can be hard to see on anything at the size of an IPAD or smaller.
Love the F-16…
Hi Spud could you please make a video on Link 16 , Sending and handling SPI and Mark points. ?
Thanks
Will we have the HMD Datalink track features of the F/A-18C on the F-16 which allows to you identify aircraft by looking at the direction, or do we have to manually choose targets to track like how you demonstrated in the video?
I’m 99% sure it will be staying like this, the F-16 and F/A-18 are two different aircraft for different services from different manufacturers with very different architectures. The F/A-18, AV-8 and eventually the F-15E will the the most similar avionics wise in DCS.
Hey spud is there anywhere to turn on nose wheel steering in the hornet without a button on the stick?
How are you getting your cockpit to appear so dark during a bright day? I'd love to make use of my instrument lights lol
Can you review the F/A-18 campaign operation Cerberus north?
After the first splash did Spudknocker use the sidewinder seekerhead to acquire a lock on the hostile wingman, but then launch an Amraam?
Hey man no I didn’t, I used the radar acquired a lock and switched to a AIM-120 because I thought in that moment that an AMRAAM would have a higher kill probability
@@Spudknocker ah, I see. It always nice to get the scoop! Thanks for keeping us all learned up on things.
hi, do you possibly have the mission to download? im new to the DCS and it seems the mission is really good for practice.
i saw you changed missile type in dogfight mode from sidewinder to amraam without pressing in the HUD, whats the shortcut for that?
I believe that is the missile step button
What would people recommend for pure gameplay fun f16 or f18
I am trying to make a video on that so stay tuned, BUT I would say that it depends on what your looking for, as well as if you want to use aircraft carriers. From a learning perspective I believe the F/A-18C is easier for beginners because the HOTAS is simpler and the jet flies a lot more naturally and is more forgiving as well as has more of the control surfaces someone moving over from MSFS would be used to like Flaps for landing and take off etc.
@@Spudknocker JF-17...
I have both and at this point always have trouble to decide wich one i want to fly, they are both fantastic, you can't go wrong with either one ;)
what is the purpose of tgp?
Does it only work in A2A mode?
Is this HMD datalink system still in the works? Or is this the way the Viper really is? Huge difference in quality over the Hornet.
Believe this is the way it works in the F-16, two different branches and two very different systems architectures between the two jets. Personally I prefer the F-16's performance and the F/A-18's avionics
Wags already said it was pretty much ghetto compared to the Hornet :D
