I hate to bring this up coz Slovakia is much more than this but, how come Canadians not know just a little about SK? We play ice-hockey with them literally almost every year.... -.-
me too! Me and my dad are fluent in the language. He grew up there and escaped when he was 18. He had to kill many people in order to escape. He has some crazy stories. Milujem prepínanie z angličtiny do slovenčiny v komentároch na CZcams.🤫
Hey, I'm Slovak cool video. I love listening to foreigners trying to pronounce slavic words :D It's super fun. I'm gonna subscribe to you if you make more videos like this.
You just have to understand the sounds of the alphabet. Actually when you think of it, Slovakian alphabet is pretty simple compared to the English alphabet. All it takes when pronouncing a letter A for example is one sound, while English speaking people combines 3 sounds: E I J, BÍ, SÍ, DÍ, Í, EF, DŽí.., while Slovaks do have just: A, B, C, D, E, F, G etc.. But it was fun :D
This was hilarious :D I'm from Slovakia and I have to say you did pretty good to be honest with you. For people that come from abroad it's really hard to learn the language and the pronaunciation one of the hardest to learn in the world.
EN:I'm from Poland and I understand 100% of slovak words who is in this video. Only word Cera isn't in polish, but it is in silesian dialect, in which i speek too :-) Pl: Jestem z Polski i rozumiem 100% słowackich słów z tego filmiku. Jedynie słowa 'Cera' nie ma w polskim, ale jest w dialekcie śląskim, w którym również mówię :-)
Hello, another Slovak here. I love this video, it's funny and kinda cute at the same time :). I hope you enjoyed (or are enjoying) our country. I really like our language, nature and we have nice people (although a lot of times you can run into assholes :( ).
Hi guys, as a slovak native speaker you are really good trying to first time say something in slovak when I heard you. Slovak language has a really hard gramatics also for the most native slovak speakers so I definitely understand you that you do this. Thanks much. I think for the most slovak speakers is much easier to learn english language when I compare gramatics, but for me is really hard for example to say something in french language fot its special intonation. When you learn slovak language it has a big advantages you will later understand czech,polish,serbian...etc. languages, because its a slavic language so people can understand to each other without learning their language. :)
Slovakian languages are quite hard to pronounce, especialy Slovak language, but i liked it. For me and most of Slovak people is interesting to hear our language from another nationality, its really funny. I hope you will do another video soon, with more words and phrases. Greeting from Slovak country ;) A pozdravuj kamarátov z videa, teším sa na ďalšie ☺
*Slavic = slovanské (nie Slovakian) *Slovakia (nie Slovak country) Nechcem tu nejak kritizovať ani nič, ale chcem som len upozorniť na tieto chyby. Pekný deň prajem 😊
This is more than good ! We're looking forward to visit beautiful Canada with my wife. One day . . . if God will allow it. :-) Very nice, greetings from Lubos and Gabriela.
Like u understand they're unable to read some slovak phrases but also its pretty funny. But what im surprised of its that they didnt knew where Slovakia is cause almost every year we meet at WORLD hockey cup and they almost always win😭
torpédo pokial tym jazykom nerozpravas nevies ci je tazky....zato ze to znie ako hatlanina vsetkeho mozneho to nemusi byt takze ;) mam rodinu pri madaroch a som tam na tyzden a uz chytam madarcinu takze az take mega tazke to nebude :p
I find it interesting because alot other the words like English and good evening are very similar to Russian but Slovak doesn't use the Cyrillic alphabet?!
Jared Jackson Well, we are a Slavic country, so it's obvious that some words are similiar to Russian language, and yea, we don't use the Cyrillic alphabet.
The way certain people pronounce our words is weird and sometimes softer than it's supposed to, but I can't be mad. We have certain words that have to be pronounced soft. 🇸🇰🇸🇰
maybe if they already knew some other foreign language like spanish or german they would have a better sense of nonenglish pronunciation, like J is pronounced like Y and when you see a cluster of consonants just read them one by one, don`t try to make them into one sound... I studied english at uni and we learned about the great wovel shift, one of the reasons behind the difference between english spelling and pronunciation. so it`s not that some crazy person came up with a complicated spelling to mess with people, it evolved over time and does have some logic to it. but those rules aren`t really applicable on other languages. and for us (slovaks) it`s really weird, like why would someone pronounce A as EI and so on cause the slovak language has mostly a phonetic reading- write as you hear it... when I first started do learn english at school (6th grade) I remember that we had a spelling test and I wrote `can` as `ken`
I can understand their pronounciation, a lot of Slovaks cannot prounounce English (or French or German...) words...but the fact that 90 percent of them are not even sure about which continent Slovakia is located on, is kinda sad...:( And, I bet, a lot of them have some Czechoslovak roots...
lol

you could try a word "čučoriedka" what means "blueberry". btw, I really enjoyed this video.
Ten chlapik co vyslovuje tie slova ked sa zjavy nadpis bol asi po tazkej hulenici s prihladnutim na ton hlasu a energiu ako ich vyslovuje.
I was pissing myself. I mean they are Canadians they are so nice :,)
That was actually quite funny. When they read the words they apply english pronunciation, but unfortunately it's not the same in slovak :)
:D Great video! :D I´m from Slovakia too. :) Funny it is easier for us to learn English pronunciation than for you to learn ours :D
