Actually the joke where you saw those Slovaks waiting for the answer who was the victim that died in the mountains its not about brothers rivarly but more like the fact that even though naturally Slovaks go to mountains much more ironically the most accidents and deaths are by Czech tourists because Czech are known to heavily underestimate safety especially when it comes to mountain climbing and since their favorite spot are the Tatra mountains in Slovakia and we see news in TV that someone died there we kinda already know that its gonna be another Czech tourist cause its 90% the case thats why you see those 2 guys saying in the vid : "Come on we already know who just say it" XD

Petržalka was occupied because of munich agreement by the Third Reich from 1938 - 1945 also the devin castle. Occupation of Devín was huge problem for slovaks due to the fact it is one of the most symbolical places for Slovak nationality and statehood. Even slovakia was Hitler ally. Another crazy thing about Slovakia:
In 2012 Slovaks voted for the name of a new pedestrian and cycling bridge connecting Slovakia and Austria. The public poll won "Chuck Norris Bridge" with 74% of votes. God knows why, but Bratislava regional assembly didn't like the result so they renamed it to "Bridge of Freedom". Fortunately, Google and other big companies have already published the name Chuck Norris to their maps (and it's there to this day:).
I guess we beated Chuck Norris. We're crossing him daily.

4:23 Probably he said it's not Austria because in Petrzalka there is a tri-point border point that traveled around the area all time. During the WWII it ran across the current center of the city. Before the end of the WWII the area of Petrzalka was called in german Engerau but it consisted of several small villages that provided the city of Bratislava with agricultural products. After the WWII the area of Petrzalka fell to Czechoslovakia, and the communists probably wanted to claim the new lang by building what is now the biggest housing estate in the Central Europe made of "panel houses". The panel houses are known as "khrushchyovkas" and "brezhnevkas" adopted from the Soviet Union model. Today, when you are approaching Bratislava from Austria by highway you start seeing Bratislava's castle with a panorama of Brezhnevkas, that is not to say "look how beautiful we build", it is to say "this land is ours"

The thing with Petržalka borough (Engerau in German) is on the other side of the Danube river and the state border is literally hundreds of meters from the blocks of flats. Like there's a Slovak building, a road, a piece of a field and BAM Austria. The Danube used to be the state border, in fact it was a state border for quite some time and a strategic place during the wars. Bratislava was a part of the kIngdom of Hungary. The first bridge of Bratislava (then Pressburg) was opened by Emperor Franz Joseph (in 1889).

Kapurkova ("last shot") is actually slightly misinterpreted. "Kapura" the base of that word means gate, so when your guests are leaving you customarily accompany them to your entry doors, in rural areas you would accompany them to the edge of your property where... you guessed it!... the gate is located. So the "last farewell" you said to your guests would be at the gate,... and since we slovaks are in fact very thirsty, we drink, so the "last goodbye/last farewell" would turn into last drink before you leave - gate shot - kapurkova. Then it turned to any shot you'd drink when leaving ... the drinking event. So yes,... not to drink it would be like refusing to say goodbye before leaving, probably why its considered disrespectful

There is a saying in Slovakia that goes like this: There is nothing that average Slovak person couldn't steal, burn into alcohol or fry. (Nie je nič, čo by priemerný Slovák nedokázal ukradnúť, vypáliť alebo vyprážať v trojobale) 😂😂😂

Austria doesn't care about lost Slovakia which technically belonged to Hungarian part of monarchy. In past we fight with Hungarian because southern part of Slovakia had bigger hungarian population then nowday.I think we have better relationships today.

I think Slovakian capital Bratislava and Austrian Capital Vienna is the closest capitals in the world idk 100% if i'm sure but 55Km (34miles) is the distance, if we don't count the Vatican and Rome

Kinshasa (DR Congo) and Brazzaville (Congo) are the closest capital cities in the world, literally across the river. BA & Vienna are probably closest European capital cities if we don't count Vatican as a capital of itself 😛
