It’s not way before everything. It’s only 100 years before TPM. How much differently can they be using the force if they need to end up complacent, rigid, and off guard? Keep in mind several species stay alive for more than 100 years in SW and even human Jedi with the Force live longer than those without.
There are no rules about how the force can be used. But a person who has morals will choose to wield their power judiciously. When you take away the morality you can do anything you want. So basically, they think that the Jedi are really Sith.
It's stupid. Even Anakin said the Jedi are selfless and think only of others. Rebels had Ezra showing what happens when you drift to the Dark Side. Of course nobody expects anything original from these jokers.

Well, we've already established that they only go for the worst moves when doing anything anymore. So, as much as some people might like to believe this will be the one thing to give them a reality check, I think that move was years ago. They don't learn. Do they not know that SW fans already understand what it means to be on the light/dark sides? Not only did 2 trilogies exist prior to disney's acquisition, but there are quite a few books and games that explored these themes. Nah - they don't care about all the creators that have been building this universe up for decades. Scrap that so they can use SW to promote their own agendas. That's the way to use a franchise (and run it in the ground).

I'm not a writer, but I know there are 2 types of magic systems used in story telling. Hard magic systems (measurable defined limits) and soft magic systems (unmeasurable undefined limits). Disney deciding to shift Star Wars from a soft magic system to a hard magic system is a bad idea.
But in both cases, there are still rules and the mistake people make with both systems is assuming that they can do whatever they want and there's nothing wrong with saying, "Oh, it was like this? Well, now it's not."
That's why there are so many bad fantasy novels. Too many authors assume that they don't need to have rules because it's magic, but in order for the immersion in the world to work, you have to have rules for your magic, even if they're not quantitative.

So basically this is Disney rewriting the rules to how the force works and send it the way they like it. Back when the force was this mysterious thing. And the best to my knowledge is that the force always acted a little differently in every Jedi. There was somewhere the forest made them excited. Combat more than anything else. There are some with the force that basically a person you could never lie to. Even for the Solo twins. The Force acted differently in them. How the forest acted through Ben solo was pretty much let him communicate with animals. He would be able to reach out with the force to say a very hostile alien creature and be able to calm it down so that it was pacified. Just as long as no one did anything stupid towards the animal. lt would be perfectly docile. Basically he would be that Jedi in the forest doing that floating Rock training but would have birds perched on him and maybe small animals too. And that the second someone came close, all the animals would fly away. So this is just Disney going. Hey, we're making our rules for the force and this is how they're really going to be.

Just shut them up. This is all showing these people never understood and have no change of understanding, Star Wars. This is not going to be a hard landing, this is just more fall. Another ingreediant to bring around total collapse of Disney as a whole.
They don't understand what SW is all about, it's about family and characters relationships/dynamics. The force and lightsabers are just the icing on the cake. Even if they aren't focusing on the Skywalker family (which I would advice not to) they need to understand why original SW succeed when they aren't even close to.
It's not enough to give us flashy fights you got to have good script to connect, humanize the characters and give them a goal to struggle and overcome.

@@looming416 When I first watched the prequels they felt super weak frankly I only watched the 3rd movie years after it was in cinema since the 2nd movie was so lackluster, later on watching reviews I understood why I felt so. The dialog was so robotic and the actors couldn't act properly prob because of the green screen.
But compare to Disney...yeah, at least George knew how to world build.
