    Conor is the best lyricist of our era. I can listen to a song for years, then learn a little factoid about history, religion or philosophy then suddenly his lyrics click in a different way. A truly brilliant and humble man.

    Casadaga is one of my favorite all time albums. Conor is a genius.

    Thanks Marc. Conor is amazing. Prolific like Tom Petty and melodic like him as well. If you love literature you’ll love Conor. Oh, and Marc girls aren’t just band aids or backup singers anymore. They can play instruments and rock just like the guys.

      @TheBella2u girls that rock are more like a novelty, an absurdity - sort of like those dogs that can be taught to bark the word "sausages".

    I wanna download the clip of common knowledge at the end. That was so beautiful. Possibly the most unpolished rarity i have ever heard of him.

    When Conor wrote Cape Canaveral his mind was a vessel through which God's creativity flowed unabated.

      Ross Goodman absolutely.

      Ross Goodman Cape Canaveral might be the greatest lyrical stroke of genius ... of all time.

      @@robertlopez6276 Obviously growing up listening to Bright Eyes, the early stuff hit me a lot more in my teenage years but as good as they were then and still are. They just dont compare in pure artistry to Cape Canaveral. With lines like "The universe was drawing perfect circles for eternity". "I watched your face die backwards Little baby in my memory". "While the waterfall was pouring Crazy symbols of my destiny" and numerous others.

    Danny Callahan has a verse about a boy/old man getting pills at a drive through?

    • @TapeCollageForEloise
      @TapeCollageForEloise Před 7 lety +9

      No, he said that the experience of seeing what he thought was an old man getting pills at the Drive through and it turning out to be a terminally ill child inspired some lyrics in Danny Callahan:
      "But even Western medicine
      It couldn't save Danny Callahan
      Bad bone marrow, a bald little boy"
