I have one of those wompa-sized "tacticool" Armitron watches, and I've never swung from anything. Wait, I take that back. I swung from one tree when I was a kid, fell out of it, and landed on my head. That actually explains a lot now that I think about it. In my defense though, I didn't own the watch back then, LOL.
TIL 12yo me was a swinger. Why didn't anyone tell me?
I was always an analog watch fan until about a year ago when I got a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with my S21 Fe. I got used to it and I love the rotating bezel. It makes it much easier to navigate and it gives the watch a stylish look imo. I'm really sad that the Watch 5s don't have this bezel and once this thing dies I'll probably revert to a good old classic watch.
The next gen is rumored to bring back the bezel. if it gets good reviews, I will upgrade from my 1st Gen.
I use Amazfit because they have good support and the battery lasts 6-7 days with all of the bells and whistles enabled. I'm done with using smartwatches that have to be charged daily because after a year or more of that, the internal battery is useless and super low on the capacity, which makes the use experience worthless for tracking work outs or even use as a regular watch for that matter.
I was eyeing the watch 4 for a while, but the watch 5 was really close to launch when I eventually wanted to buy one. Once I discovered the watch 5 wouldn't have a classic variant, that basically sold me on the 46mm watch 4 classic. The mechanical bezel really is the best part of the watch - navigation around the UI is just so much easier with it.
@@Riccorbypro hmmm I used to use a Gear 2 until the battery died fully. Will give credit to Samsung for making the ring durable as I have accidentally got used motor oil leaked onto it without thinking when I was doing the oil change in the first year. With a little use it got back to rotating freely. Unfortunately I had to retire it when I found out that the battery in my AT&T version was made with a different cable than the replacement, which had the same part number...
That and other things I experienced with a Samsung phone that I have gone through 4 replacements has made me give up on them.
haha yeahh, I was thinking of upgrading from my Gear S3 but the Watch 5 has no rotating bezel. If the other comments are to believed and the next gen is to have a bezel, I think that is when I will upgrade

As someone who got the galaxy watch 4 with my s22 ultra, I can safely say I never wore it outside the time I pretended to go to the gym.
I always revert to my analogs just because they tell me the time more efficiently and I don't have to worry about charging them daily.
The Galaxy Watch 5 lasts around three days before needing a charge and if you put it in just watch mode only (so the same as an analogue) it lasts over a month.
@@Khaostheory1980 I know, even mine lasts 3 days easy. but my Analogs last months to years, and I need a watch daily (out of habit) to tell the time whenever I look at my wrist, so yeah.. It's not even a competition as to what a "watch" is in my case. 😇
Watches are supposed to be very small power draw devices. What is causing the power draw? Are they sending your biometrics back to China?
My manager bought an iPad in Shanghai some years back. I was sceptical, but he thought it was a bargain. That it was square in shape did not give him any clue he may have been scammed. Not even when he turned it on and an Android logo showed on the screen would he admit defeat.

It seems that fake electronics, especially ones with fairly consistent form factors, are usually previous generation tech repacked into a new body and forced to run newer or knockoff software. Kind of like with the AliExpress graphics cards that are 660s coerced to say they're 2060s. I'd be interested to see a comparison of the guts of these to one of the early Apple watches to see if someone just didn't get a bunch of old watch guts and stick them in a new case.
The battery in that watch looks like the same RC battery (602030) that is in a ton of Chinese electronics (I've replaced them mostly in cheap bluetooth earbud charging stations).

Heh, my dad actually bought the first one with a rebadged name (but the same WearFit logo and documentation) and got tired of it after a month.

I have bad eyes and have a Timex Easy Reader watch. I'm pissed it has a little date indicator I never use. I did upgrade it recently and bought it a nicer simple ten dollar black wrist strap.
and for approx. the same price as the crapple watches you got you can just get a cheap smart watch which often just seem to work ok, like the "Kogan" watch seems pretty decent, its not a apple watch comparison but it's a working specimen and as far as ive been told its pretty good for a cheap smart watch lol!

Should try the HK8 Pro-Max it's actually a very decent clone with a good processor and AMOLED display, I was hoping you would have tried that one because it looks pretty impressive .

While in Shenzen back in 2010 bought a fake iPad way under $100 for the LOLs and to maybe use as a digital picture frame. Was running a very bad Android implementation. Wasn’t a good tablet and didn’t make a good picture frame either. It’s in a drawer somewhere.

I bought the hello watch ultra. around 40-50 dollars, and thats pretty much good because all I need is the music control feature. I dont need 800 dollars(feel more like a 1000++ dollars in my currency) smartwatch with that much money I wouldve real watch.
I went from being a Pebble kickstarter and using custom notifications and all that to getting like a $70 Chinese "Amazfit" and I'm shockingly happy with it, though I don't trust the step counter or heartrate or weather or things like that, it does a fine job sending me notifications and telling me the time. Great video.
If you use the heartrate monitor, will you get surprised with a $20K hospital bill when it doesn't work properly?

I have one of those L8star "fitness" watches, and it works ok for what it is, but the app sucks, and the watch does only basic stuff. The idea of having to recharge those things every few days pissed me off enough to go back to a good ol' traditional watch because I never want to have to say, "crap, I didn't charge my watch so I can't wear it." The one I wear is one of those Armitron jobs with the digital + analog. My only real beef with it is depending on when you look at the date, or digital time, the arms get in the way, and you can't see them. Then I have to go into kindergartner mode like, "Ok, so the big hand does what now?" 🤣🤣
Do these knockoffs of Apple Watches even claim to have the Health function of real ones? Like how well does it track physical activity, can it measure heartbeat, blood oxygen? I use my Watch 6 for keeping track of my walking and heart rate, in fact when I had my heart attack two years ago I was able to keep track of my heart rate while I was waiting in emergency, and it will warn you if your heartbeat is erratic or accelerated. I would never trust one of these with my well-being, they,re really there to act as arm candy. Glad you did this video.
Pretty much if you do a bit of research then yeah they do exist. I own H10 Pro which is a Series replica. Does it job well enough for me and for the low price of $25 it does have an real heart rate sensor.

I reside in China and have used the watches. First off it’s so simple to get out the app (stopwatch) 😅😅 you just slide on the screen and you’ll be out of the app. No need to let the battery run out ( 30days waiting😂😂😂😂😂) 7:37 so technically the watch can be deemed “useless” for a person not residing on mainland but it’s pretty useful , even with the Wearfit app data synchronization is actually pretty decent. Considering you can even do sports(laps,run) with people in your province. Maps works etc . Not hating btw just sharing

Well, to be honest, Samsung charges you for aditional watch faces as well, nearly lost my mind from laughing when i got my Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm) and found out there are 1$-5$ watch faces.

They probably built that after trying to copy apple hardware, but without the software and drivers (which they build from scratch to their credit) they probably couldnt do very much.

I find it funny when peopple buy something for 80% less than the real thing (so in this case, like $50 for a knock-off of something that costs $500+ from Apple) and then complain because it doesn't work as well as the more expensive one. You get what you pay for when it comes to knock-off stuff (usually, sometimes you find a real gem, but that's quite rare).
