Only the Knicks ALLOWED LIN to run a team the whole game, and what happened?
He made a mediocre team played like everyone was an MVP, team ball even Chandler
and Jeffries were offensive threats. Every other team he was not given the opportunity
to LEAD A TEAM. LIN'S genius is his high IQ ON THE FLOOR, deciphering and calculating
ways to beat you while making everyone around him play better. He was smart enough to
make adjustments and even without real playing time experience he proved he could win.
Carmelo and most Blacks hated him, were jealous he got all that attention and discriminated
him except his teammates and Knicks fans. Shame on you.
Race wasn't really a part of things as much as team politics. You can literally pull up a video full of stars around the NBA praising what Jeremy Lin was doing in New York. Also, China has been one of the NBAs biggest fanbases for decades.
The issue was Jeremy Lin needed to be on a team that didn't have a dominant superstar already there who was going to demand the ball for most of the game. Allen Iverson probably wouldn't have been Allen Iverson as we know him if he had been on a team with a prima donna All-Star when he came into the league. Even Michael Jordan was free to really become who he was because the Bulls literally had no stars when he came to them. That meant he was basically free to do whatever he wanted and showcase his talent. If Lin was on a team where he was free to control the ball, the trajectory of his career would have been much different. Maybe learn a little more about how the business of basketball works before pulling the race card. Superstars tend to be selfish with the ball and that's exactly what happened when Carmelo came back from injury.
@@coreydorsey4121 I think when his talking about the race thing it’s more about how since his Knicks days people haven’t really looked at him the same way and mostly tried to overshadow and undermine him, their GM would rather plz a star player who has just suffered injuries than have a pg who plays similar to Nash and makes all his teammates look like star caliber players which helped Nash win two MVPs under D’antoni’s system but melo didn’t enjoy his team winning without him due to ego issues which is so stupid, that knicks team could of literally being the 2011 Mavericks with Melo as the lone star and every player contributes but we’ll never know , plus AI and MJ went (1st & 3rd) in their drafts on lottery teams so of course they would get more playing time and a team to control, Lin was sleeping on his brothers couch when he was dropping 38 points on Kobe, his story was so unique that it would of changed many things for NY but that’s how the world is 🤷♂️

But you still didn't really explain how him being pushed aside to please Melo was more about race than team typical team politics where the star acts like a primadonna. Gilbert Arenas went through the same thing for a lot of his career. He wasn't a first-round pick, only given playing time if bigger stars were injured, and didn't really get to break out until he was the sole superstar on the Wizards. And once that happened, he was averaging close to 30 a game and eventually dropped 60 on Kobe. But even then, he was still getting snubbed from All-Star teams until he started making noise in the media. Many times, the NBA will cater to stars over lower drafted or lesser known players who show more promise in practice or even games. It's idiotic, but it happens.
Again, I'm making it clear I believe race could play a part, but I just don't think it was the major issue in this instance as much as typical team politics. Also, me mentioning MJ and AI was exactly the point you made. If Lin had gone to a team that didn't have any stars and he was playing like that, he probably would've had a different career (unless he still got injured).

Lin got waived and wasn’t given many chances at all, Arenas was getting snubbed from all stars and all nba because there were guards who were either more successful or durable than him (Wade, Iverson, Kidd, Nash, Ray Allen, Kobe) Lin always had to play behind (Curry in GSW) (Baron Davis in NY) (Harden in Houston) (Kemba in Charlotte) then got his own team in Brooklyn but that was a team still recovering from their Celtics Highway robbery situation and he unfortunately got injured, then spent the rest of his days bouncing outta the league, if melo had acted differently both their careers would of been better off

You more or less just said Melo was a diva and workplace politics were the main issues; which is what I've been saying all along. My point in mentioning the other players wasn't to say their situation was EXACTLY like Lin's. They were other examples of how crappy team politics were in play, even when players were the same race. I'm not even sure what you're arguing against at this point.
Stephen A was very suspiciously anti-Lin for that entire season. I found it odd personally, given how well Lin played. Didn't even have nice things to say the day after he dropped 30+ and guarded Kobe in a win. He was definitely biased against Lin, however whether or not it was based on race or simply his excessive allegiance to Melo is not clear. Either way, he was wrong (as he often is).
Yep...definitely a hidden bias against Lin. No reason for Stephen to demean and play down Lin's abilities. Also the Linsanity story will be remembered forever. Even those people that didn't care for basketball started paying attention. This time was incredible.

Fact is Jeremy has not been given the same chance to run the offense as he did with the Knicks, has only played without given the chance to run the offense. I disagree 100% with you. Positions are not just for formality. I can't believe you actually said that. A C can distribute the ball, but not in the same way or with the same impact as a PG. A PG will touch the ball on almost every play & runs the Offense which puts him in a better position to distribute the ball. A C can distribute the ball but it is not a requirement for that position. The same could be said for a PG having a good post up game. Each position has their own role. A skilled player might be able to bring more to the table then what their position calls for, but it's not their main assignment or focus.

Lewis Jones Yeah but Dwight is still a great shot blocker & rebounder which is apart of a C role. And sense moving to Houston he's been developing his post game with Hakeem. As for Durant, he may be listed as 6'9 (Closer to 6'11) but he plays the SF while Ibaka & Adams play the PF & C position. Durant is around 6'10 but he still possess enough speed & quickness to play the perimeter. The NBA has become more offense oriented ever sense hand checking became illegal after the 04-05 season. That's why it so easy for player to blow by their defenders.
It just depend on what the teams Coach is looking for. Does he want a tougher C with inside post moves, who can also block shots, & get rebounds. Or a more finesse C that has a nice jump shot & is deadly behind the arc? Does he want a PG like Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook.? Some rare players are versatile enough to play multiple roles at a high level, but not all them can manage that.

Writing a comment after SAS blaming white privilege for the hiring of Steve Nash as the new Brooklyn Nets head coach. I’m a Knicks fan and Jeremy Lin was the best thing to happen to New York basketball in the 2010 to 2020 decade. One of my favorite players, top 3 of all time is Amare. I was estatic when he came to NY, but none of his time there compared to Linsanity. What he did during that run when Carmelo and amare were hurt was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I won’t go into details but when he was given his shot to run a team, he delivered. Amazing IQ, a very humble individual, and a spiritual man. He was discriminated against. That is a fact. It started with caramelos jealousy and made it’s way around the NBA, even into the officiating. He had some injuries and some bad luck but has landed in a nice home playing in China.
I want to cry every time I think about what I think his dreams were of having a great career in the NBA. This was taken away from him because he is of Taiwanese decent. Mind you he’s American but looks different from the ‘typical’ NBA player. I see many similarities between Lin and Nash. If it were Lin wanting to coach an NBA team in 10 years, I would for sure hire him if he fit the teams organizational goals w/o any experience. Nash was and is a great leader, and he should not be shamed by others like this talking head because his skin happens to be white. This type of ignorance is so sad to see from someone who is broadcasted to millions across the globe. God bless the Asians who are discriminated against, god bless the blacks who are discriminated against , God bless people who are from the Middle East who are discriminated against, god bless whites that are discriminated against. I am a Jeremy Lin fan. Mostly because of how he was able to have a great moment of success in New York despite being unrecognized. I just really like underdog stories. I'm hoping that he can become linsanity again and stay that way for the rest of his career .
I really think they should've kept him and let him blossom in NY. He was headed that route of being an NBA All Star, probably not a superstar but an All Star. Listen, Jeremy Lin is a fearless point guard. He is also unselfish and needs the ball in his hands to make that extra pass to get the teams ball movement flowing and usually he is persistent on that, plus he can shoot and drive it in when he needs to. When you throw a player in there that needs the ball whether hes passing or scoring or whichever, then Lin's effectiveness decreases substantially. He will lead a team to victories because he understands fundamentals very well, he may not be the most athletic gifted guard but he can get it done.
