I own 2 of the new Metanium DCs. They cast brilliantly! Guys remember is a 70 series spool. It’s not made for 3/4-1oz deep diving cranks or super heavy applications. It is more of a finesse style reel, small cranks and 1/2oz jerkbaits its wheel house. It’s not completely idiot proof don’t expect it to be.
Just because it's a 70 does not make it a finesse real automatically granted it may have been intended for finesse applications for most situations but there's nothing that is keeping you from using it for all around it performs beautifully on a higher-end medium heavy rod that is lighter weight.
@@krisearley4689 basically what I was trying to say bud. It’s just not an HD reel doesn’t have the gears for 1oz and over nor the line capacity.
@@krisearley4689 you want to fry the gears on that Met 70 run an 8XD for a day on it with 15 pound line. Much rather have the older Met DC for cranking 16’ and down divers.
Great vid and results !!! Thanks !
I bought one of these have not had a chance to fish it yet, but it’s gonna be tough to beat a zillion sv
Not to hard zillion sv is actually my shortest distance caster.
Should have bought a Steez 😎
Not mine ! First time I’ve EVER heard that from a Zillion owner. Maybe you need to learn how to adjust it. It took me a while to fine tune it.
Just wanted to make sure y'all do realize that Shimano made those DC reels to where you could back off the spool tension quite a bit I always run my DC's with a fairly loose spool and never have any issues backlashing and they Outcast every reel I own by far. By the way I have the metanium DC 70 XG and I used a measuring wheel and put it on a Dobyns Kaden 7 ft 3 medium heavy moderate fast with a .71 Oz casting plug and casted it 199.5 ft so free up your DC reels you'll thank me later.
@@krisearley4689 agreed the manual says to tighten to remove side to side play is all you need. The dc does its job to stop overruns.
Honestly, I gave mine away.
Felt burned by Shimano on this one. $500 in the toilet.
But lucky for me. I don't need training wheels on a Baitcaster
I did buy a steez. I love it ! But I don’t see that big of a difference in the performance of the steez over the zillion. For the price difference!
There isn’t any with performance really. It’s just the material of the actual reel.
Why you guys scare to cast a rip bait or buzz bait smfh
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We definitely threw a jerkbait
Also didn't have braid for the buzzbait
Great video going to have to get one
You should do it at lakeprotackle.com!
What I'd like to see how far that real can cast a half ounce spinnerbait, everybody cast aerodynamic baits. I need to see someone cast something with fluff.
@@garysmith7832 The 6th Sense jerkbait has almost no weight transfer and the reel handled it well with 20mph winds. We can definitely try a big spinnerbait
