      I know this is for Perch, but, A Grey's Prowla Platinum II 6'6" -110G. Just Magnificent. Grey's flyfishing heritage is clearly felt, perfectly balanced and throws like a 8' rod. Were sold around 2016-2018. Desperately looking for the other models in the lineup. Almost too good to fish with, if I break it I WILL cry.

      Definitely the Expride 6'10" med. I can do soooo many different techniques with it. It's the best bang for the buck rod out there and I got mine new for $189.00 on sale.

      This is a solid tip baitcasting rod with unimaginable sensitivity and almost all my perch over 2.5 kilo has been landed on this rod 🙂

      SLX is nice to start with... Heavy jerks on your World Minnow/Diver, 110+1 or +2, perfect for this application.
      Zodias is nice to twitch more finessy, a softer tip to give those finesse lures the perfect action: Zumverno, 110JR+1 etc. As you say its also allrounder to do also some powerfishing, as the softer blank absorbs more energy, makes it comfi for chatterbait/cranks.
      Expride is the ultimate twitchrod to do both finesse twitching and heavier jerking.
      Poison is again bit stiffer like the SLX, perfect for heavier twitching but as it has better carbon technology (spiralxCore) and a full carbon monocoque (only one of these with FULL) its the most balanced and crisp of them all. That crispness and sensitivity gives you more feel and makes it just a joy to fish.
      So imo it depends on your fishing style which rod you prefer. But thats just my experience with all these rods.

    I just found your channel and I am a Shimano for Life fisherman. I have each of these models and I completely agree with you. I’m retired and live in Raleigh North Carolina USA and I fish in 2 Bass clubs in tournaments. I love my Poison Adrena with a Metanium reel the most.👍🍀😎🍀🎣

    Only warning I’ll add to video is that the fast action tips on the poison adrenas new series have a factory flaw or bad design, I own 4 total and my 2 fast action versions have snapped tips, I’m very good with my equipment and take exceptional care of all of it as it is expensive…. Factory replaced them but they are still in the shipping tubes they came from. Good video

      What model? I own 8 of them and I've had no issues with them. I did have some tips break on Daiwa Steez and a couple GLX / Exprides, but I think I dodged a bullet so far with the Poison Adrena.

    I have 3 of them and my favorite is the zodias. The expride is legit and light but day in and day out the zodias does everything I will ever need. It's landed 100s of 3lb+ bass and countless giant catfish by accident. Great rod overall for day in and out.

    • @TackleCrew
      @TackleCrew  Před měsícem +1

      @@TackleCrew, it is indeed possible and I have been collecting high-end JDM tackle since 2002. However, shipping and sales tax can make it expensive for something you never held in your hands and don’t know if it suits you.

    Smallmouth fishermen? It’s cool to see someone compare all these rods. I fish rivers for smallmouth so med and med light are my thing. I have the adrena it’s just a tad too fast my liking on finesse jerkbaits. It would handle the 110’s and up nice, I think. I built my own jerkbait bait rod from a north fork c602 3 power blank on a exo carbon handle and reel seat. Paired it with a bates hundo and it’s my favorite rod. The whole combo is 8 ounces.

  • @TheRealMrSix
    @TheRealMrSix Před 15 dny +1

    Those are all 2pc rods, way different than normal 1pc actions! I fish mainly exprides with the few "hidden gems" in the zodias lineup (7'5 heavy, 7'2 heavy, 6'10 Med Heavy) and accidentally picked up a 2pc expride at my local tackle shop and immediately thought it was a factory mess up! Way heavier, more moderate tapers and just all around worse rods... but to each their own but I'm always sticking to 1pc rods period! P.s. nearly all the guys that fish my tournament trail have had adrenas break out of nowhere multiple times, so praying these new 2024 adrenas will be wayyy more durable considering they shaved off another 1/3oz minimum on each rod, some as much as 5/16oz. We shall see but until then...tight lines!!!

      Generally I think the Expride can throw heavier than the specifications. You should be able to throw it without a problem. We have fished the 10-30g rod and even think than could do the job, but you are prob better off with the 14-42g
