    This type of crash really gets to you, as far as i experienced it and seeing that you thought about it in depth and took some valuable lessons from it, seems to be the best way to deal with it.
    I hope you`ll have a speedy recovery and will be able to go and race once again :D

    Man that was a big crash, so glad you're ok, I know how much a fractured collar bone hurts can't imagine how much a very broken one hurts , probably about as much as the bank account atm. I've had one of those oh shit moments but luckily avoided it just sucks to happen right after you got everything fixed again
    Good thing you're in 1 piece could've been way worse , best of luck for a speedy recovery 🤜🏼🤛🏼

    Dang it Chad! 😳
    I am so sorry to hear about what happened. Really great to hear
    you are on the road to recovering and "getting back on the horse".
    I enjoy your videos as I am a new "racer" and it's definitely encouraging
    to see your enthusiasm and progress. I've put my bike on the ground
    a few times but always very minor damage to the bike and no injuries
    to me. As far as you breaking your collarbone that is something I can
    very much relate to. It definitely could have been worse, and it really
    is great to hear you are healing up, hopefully you will recover fully and
    quickly including the slight numbness. I also broke my left clavicle about
    a year and a half ago while I was snowboarding. The bone broke into 5
    different pieces but I was incredibly fortunate that all the pieces stayed
    pretty much in place and I didn't need any "added hardware" to recover. I
    was back out snowboarding after 4 weeks. 😁
    Definitely keep up with your PT and keep us updated on your progress.
    I'm looking forward to seeing your improvement Chad!
    Thanks and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍

    Love the videos, keep it up, hope your recovery continues strong. I also had a spill a month and a bit ago, highside. Takes a blow to your confidence and you feel a bit ashamed of making bad decisions (I had missed lunch, no food since 6am, crash at 3pm, missed warm up lap, red mist on a 48 degree temperature day, just series of lapses in judgment).
    But like you said. You have to laugh at it and get back on. Not done yet.
    I had small break in end of my finger but everything else was ok miraculously. Fixing bike has been a pain as I’m not as handy as you - had really great help from a friend.
    Heading back out for a track day this weekend, not a race just yet.

    Hey Chad, you were right, I didn't like the result ! On the other hand I have great respect for the way you have dealt with the situation. I love your honesty and lack of sensationalism aimed at attracting views. So refreshing !! I think your analysis of what happened is on point, ultimately it was your responsibility though I do think you were very unlucky, its hard to accept the consequences when someone else's "weak points" have contributed to the incident !
    I feared this may have dulled your enthusiasm for racing, so I'm thrilled at your intention to continue. I agree there's still a lot of potential in you to go faster.
    Keep up with the videos, it's so rare to find such genuine content these days. You're becoming my hero, lol 😆

    Hey Chad, just wanted to say that it was a great video. Very sorry to see you crashed. Glad you are ok for the most part. It could have been much worse. Get better soon. One question and one comment: Question, I noticed several places in the video, you ride more towards the center of the track coming up to a corner where as the riders in front of you are out towards the outside edge prior to entering the corner. I was curious as to why you pick that line vs entering the corner from the far outside and then going to the inside of the turn. Is it just the line you like or is there a different reason? Now my comment: I commend you for wanting to get back to racing. I, in my current life status, could not risk a huge injury or something that would put me out of work for a long time, or maybe permanently. Which is why I chose to not do any racing. If I were in your shoes, I would just do track days at slower paces instead of racing. Yes, track days are dangerous too but way less than aggressive racing. I love racing prob as much as you, maybe more, but I just ask, what would happen in your life if you had an injury that put you out of commission for say 6mo to a year? I'm sure that question has crossed your mind and I'm sure you have a plan in case that did happen. But to close up, I hope you do whatever you think is best and if it's racing, then keep the videos coming and have fun. Be safe brother!!! Love the vids.

    Not a criticism, just an observation. In watching your 7 lap race and some of your practice sessions. I believe if you opened up your entrance to the turns, i believe you could carry more corner speed. That is where i believe your competitors are starting to leave you behind. It appears you are entering the corners a bit shallow loosing a lot of corner speed. Just an observation.
    Wow, that was a pretty bad crash. Happy to see that you are on the mend.

      If you're talking about this event specifically, I agree. This was a new track for me and my first time back from a pretty big crash 2.5 months prior, so there were definitely cobwebs to dust off. I also know I tend to enter a little wider/later than I could, partially because the two primary tracks I ride, Buttonwillow and Chuckwalla, have had paint that is like ice, so I always felt it safer to be a bit wide than to touch the paint. Chuckwalla finally fixed this, but call it a bit of PTSD I'm working through. 😅

      At the end of the day, it was on me as the rider behind to not run into whoever is in front of me. While I wasn't anticipating him to decelerate that far through the corner, I opened the gas before he did despite being right behind him, which was my critical error.
      What's cardio? 😂 Thanks for your comment and support of my channel Justin, always appreciate your activity across all the social platforms. 🙂

      @@hiimchad my question is for when you are approaching a left corner. You push the handlebar left to dip into the corner, you move to the left, leg out and push the right leg against the tank and lean left, do you push the handlebar to adjust the sharpness of the corner if you don’t think you can make it while make smooth throttle?

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  Před rokem

      @@ericleeSupSayK it’s best to set up for the corner before making a steering input or braking. This will keep the bike more stable. Generally speaking, the ideal way through a simple turn is to brake as late as possible, gradually releasing the lever as you steer the bike into the corner, and be off the brake just before or at the apex, at which point you begin to open the throttle, and stand up the bike as you gradually open it more. You can steer the bike while the throttle is open, but increasing lean angle while opening the throttle is risky and can result in a crash.

      @ericleeSupSayK Před rokem

      @@hiimchad The reason I ask this is because some people say it’s all body movement and they don’t push their handlebars (or they do it subconsciously). They keep their hands light. Is this true for you as well?
