"Put an H2 engine in a Versys frame" is the best line in the vid 😊
I admire his good lady for being brave enough to pillion regularly on those!
Top chap.
Top entertainment, gentlemen.
Ride safe 👍
Was here today. A guy was really interested in buying a bike I overheard him asking a staff member if he could test ride the bike the reply was we don’t do test rides….shameful making these videos when normal customers can’t get a test ride
I won't buy a bike without a test ride.
@@chrisc9376 it’s terrible. These videos are making out that superbike factory offer out this service and in the end this guy didn’t even buy a bike
Tbf I wouldn’t but a cup of tea from this place, the horror stories you hear on social media and the state of some the rusty wreck’s in the show room
@@Beemer_Steve I've been to the place at Donnington and Macclesfield. Plenty of bikes but very poorly presented, some dirty and the list time I went there were signs everywhere telling you not to even sit on them.
Why would anyone buy a bike or a car without having a test ride 😂😂😂
If the S1000XR doesn't feature in this then I don't think it ever will!
it's more about what stock the shop they use have in stock
@@JayGee6996must be as the S1000XR ticks every single box of his. Every one. Never been to their Donny branch and not seen at least one XR in, although some are cheaper Gen 1s and I think a Gen 2 would be perfect for him. John if you're reading this get yourself to BMW and test ride the new XR.
@@dstev55 watch until the very end and you’ll find out what he buys.
@@bennettsbikesocial yes I saw. He must have found an extra few £k budget! Personally I think he'd have found the new 170hp S more than enough plus it has better pillion and touring provision.
I am continuously flabbergasted by the mindset of the English riders vs. Americans. Here in the states no adult male would even take a test ride on any of the bikes I've seen featured in this TV series. People here want chrome cruisers, and they are embarrassed to even consider being seen on anything other than a Harley or similar cruiser.
The average person here cares more about the status than the performance and nothing can change their mind.
Great series. I think he should buy a 'Busa! 🤣🤣 But then I would say that! Great to see you at Cadwell Simon, and please thank your son for me for the excellent photos of us with my bike. Love 'em! I've known you since I was a spotty yoof and you are deffo. a big influence on my biking life. I loved reading Performance Bikes, MCN and Fast Bikes. Performance Bikes was my favourite mag and I had a mountain of them! btw, rode my 'busa back up the coast road to Durham and it was absolutely brilliant. The Gen 3 I tried at Cadwell was good, but mine is spot on. Remap I was talking about? Nah. 🤘🤘
I was thinking Busa too! That’s what I’ve got now good for the Mrs on the back and still plenty of sporty fun.
BMW K16GT ticks all the boxes and more. It's the obvious best choice and if pillion 90% of the time his wife will love it. Happy wife happy life. 😊
Love this series of videos - keep them coming !
one of the best put together videos of yet
Really love this series, very enjoyable 👍👍
I was in a similar predicament as John at the beginning of the the year and went with a leftover 2023 MT-10. I picked it up for 11,000 USD in Los Angeles, which isn't an inexpensive place to buy a bike, and couldn't be happier. It does it all so well, but the sound is what really sells it. Magnificent bike.
H2 SX SE sounds perfect
Definitely should have put a k1600 on the table. One call does it all.❤
Regular XR all the way. The extra power the M provides is only accessible above 10k (where the shift cam kicks in) which on the street is unuseable unless you have a death wish or want your license shredded.
Love this series. Keep it coming
I love this show and this was the best episode.. keep it up guys 👍
This is my favorite show ever!! I really look forward to every episode. Keep up the good work 😎👍
Great stuff, cant wait for Ep2000, Keep em coming.
I expected Michael to come up with a BMW S1000XR.
Just a heads up guys the m1000xr does come with pillion pegs. My old man brought one today. Love the series 👍🏻
Brill, good to hear that. John’s now bought an M XR.
Pointless on that bike because you have to take a backpack for your luggage,on a sports tourer 😂
@@TheCvac You can get soft luggage for it
Love it brilliant show
Never heard an MT-10 described as beautiful.
The BMW S1000 XR was an obvious bike for his needs.
I can’t believe you guys didn’t offer him the XR or V4S to test ride. His description of his ideal bike was screaming XR. Im assuming he bought the m sport XR rather than the MXR. Great series chaps, really enjoying it and hopefully you’ll get a result one day although I wonder after this episode 🤔
Yeah I agree John, the standard XR would be more suitable for his needs rather than the MXR going on what he said. And if 170hp ain't fast enough for you then you're always going to be wanting more power.
Yeah I immediately thought of a XR or multistrada V4s. Bringing a passenger on a M1000XR isn't gonna be the most comfortable thing in the world.
This is strangely close to my own current bike search. I have a 2018 H2SX at the moment, which I really love, but at 6ft3 its a bit wristy. Last week I test rode the Multistrada V4S, but top of my want list (dependent on a test ride) is the M1000XR.
Superbike Factory dont do testrides and have many trashed bikes. Enjoy!
Thanks for your comment, we do not sell trashed bikes, all bikes go through a 120 point check prior to sale. Unfortunatley, due to the amount of motorbikes we have, offering test rides is as you can imagine, logistically challenging - we do however, offer a 14 day money back gaurantee, this allows the rider to thoroughly evaluate the motorbike in your own time and return it within 14 days of purchase if it doesn’t meet expectations. The customer will get a full refund so long as it's in the same condition. Thanks, Team SBF
I was screaming S1000XR...
Or the KTM 1290gt next to the employee on the piece to cam
I ready like this show! I always think what bike would I pick! That's the fun of the show. I was thinking, in the shopping part of the video. BMW XR
Great stream guys . MT10 wow great bike . Ducati my fave . I wouldnt know where to turn. Both great bikes . The Kawasaki is the bike that i would have gone for . 👍👍👍
I would have liked his opinion of the K1600, especially for two up riding.
What?? Pressing play now!
why didn't you choose the K1600 - I thought they were too big, I'm 5ft 9in , and didn't want to go back to sportsbikes, tried a second hand one because it was there and bought it - its phenomenal
“My wife’s pillion 90% of the time” and yet she didn’t go on the test rides..! 😂😂
Omg a Versys with a supercharged engine, absolute genius..🤩
Tbf I reckon my old Versys 1000 is quick enough for most mortals.
Great series fellas!!! Love that Ducati!! Thought that wouldve done it when you rolled it out.
My 1st thoughts ..I was thinking KTM superduke, or perhaps that new Suzuki GSX 1000GT
Great stuff once again from the Lads. None of this particular selection would suit my needs however.
This show is one of my favorite on the internet. I suspect it is fun to produce as well!
I’m on the same page as Michael Mann, I have a 1200 Multi Enduro and a CBF1000, the ideal duo for me would be the CB1000R, but I can’t fit 3 bikes in the garage, and couldn’t sell the CBF as we’ve done too much together to do that!
Top man. Yes, I thought it was a brilliant plan! The CB is a fab machine, I had one when the current first came out. Loved it, tracked it. Good luck with your quandary.
Cheers, Michael
Well, sport naked maybe the Yamaha MT-10, Honda CB1000, or the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. Sport tourer Yamaha FJR1300ES, Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+, or the Kawi Ninja ZX-14R. Any of those should meet his requirements and budget, lets see what the BBS boyz choose. I thought about the KTMs and BMWs as well but thought the KTM was a bit small especially for the pillion and the BMW was too big for Johns sporty wants. Don't think I've ever seen someone so disappointed while looking at a Ducati. I should think John would be most interested in the H2. Im going to be visiting the U.K. in the not too distant future any chance of me getting to do one of these videos?
Loved it, although I was expecting Simon to pick something over the budget soon as I heard 18k lol
I thought straight away the supercharged Kawi was a good hit...maybe even better the zh2
Good choice for the big fella, definitely thought that was a bike one off you would be picking,a BMW,,XR ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Did someone mention Suzuki GSX S1000GT ? Sounds like a bike for John
True
18k but couldn’t afford a pair of trousers with armour.
3xHonda VFR1200. Maybe one F, one X and one DCT?
For the home game, I found a BMW R1250 RS, 110 miles, so effectively zero miles. $2,655 under budget. Lots of H2 SX SE's here as well.
Woohoo! Weekly episodes. Really enjoyed this one. Guys, what is the tune that fires up just as the Multistrada specs come on screen? It's fuc£#ing awesome.
Superbike Factory reminds me very much of Carnell's and look how they turned out. They wouldn't let me test ride any of their bikes either so, I built my own and it is more reliable than anything I have seen in any dealership for 25 years.
I always pause and make suggestions before watching what the guys choose.
Aprilia Tuono Factory bit probably not the best choice for a pillion
BMW S1000R
Suzuki GSX1000GT
Kawasaki H2SX
Did I miss something? He says he has not ridden a Cross Plane Crank engine, but he was riding a Tracer with a CP3.
They're a triple
I thought the same , he had a crossplane.
He’d not ridden the inline four version though. Seemed like he liked it!
A crossplane crank traditionally refers to i4 where the crank planes of 2 of the opposing pistons cross each other at 90 deg as opposed to a conventional and more common, flatplane crank which are all on the same plane.
If you really think about it, All i3's crank planes cross, so its totally irrelevant and nothing unique for i3's. Yamaha just stole the moniker as a marketing term... they even use it for their twin... the CP2... and tbh it wouldn't surprise me if they brought out a modern single cylinder and called it the CP1. 😂
@@paulhope3401 So the Tracer 9 CP3 isn't a crossplane engine?
I love this series even though i cant afford a bike
The XR would have been my immediate choice.
Great series personal favourite.
However l am somewhat left aghast at your choices. l do not know the full details and l suspect that availability was the issue regarding the bikes you chose or as was said going through all those bikes was a challenge.
I thought you were too conservative. l mean he was willing to spend it all but you were coming in well below. One of the bikes did surprise me though as it was a 20l9 model cannot remember what the others were or were not mentioned. Had it been me l would be going straight for a current year model or at the very worst maybe 2 years out max.
Personally, l would have been looking at one of those amazing Sizuki things sorry their names get harder and harder to pronounce but the current 100)GSX and the GT l think from what l have read and seen they would fit the bill perfectly and might be even had brand new so to say l was disappointed is an understatement.
I would have also looked at the Ninja 1000SX but you did bring out the other one so that was covered. Talking supercharged l would have gone for the Z one l think it was the H2 the naked version which seemed to have been withdrawn at least from where l search for bikes.
I was happy with the Multistrada but disappointed it was not a V4 surely at that sort of money a V4 could have been found. Lastly one bike which l would have considered would have been the 1000XR BMW that is one crazy machine and from what l have been seeing the new M variant is on another level of craziness and fun.
So for once l was underwhelmed by your choices but l still enjoyed the show. l liked the move to offer him a buy one get 2. That was a nice touch.
Personally l would have loved the Tracer 9GT + but for whatever reason Yamaha does not offer a MT 10/R1 derived offering the 9 is excellent l did ride the old 900 and l found it very powerful even with a friend on board. However, it is based on the MT9/XSR platform which tops out at between 114 H[p to 118HP which is a chink in its armour as most of its main competition and its Japanese brethren have bikes which do 150 or more. Hopefully Yamaha fixes this glaring omission but still l would buy the current one funds permitting, l like the technology, the functionality, the gadgets and the great combination of price and reliability which are of paramount importance to me and l do love the craziness of Yamaha.
Ever notice how new the staff members are - almost like there is high turnover 😂
yeah and they’re always like: “I love my job…” and I’m like - then why don’t we see the same staff more than once? Lol
@@ozzyg82 SBK Factory are keen to offer everyone a chance at being the Mystery Bike Selector.
If you listen to the follow-up, the contestants often do come back to buy a bike, when it feels like it's on their own terms
@@cypresscycle8326 they very rarely do, they often never say the dealership name - just what they bought…
@@ozzyg82 I'll make sure I come back for another episode 🤣👋
Lots of Multistrada 950s buzz. Through the levers or the seat nose or the footrests.
Other Ducati twins don't do this so it must be the frame
Great show. Super duke GT you nearlly chose would've been perfect .
Yes 😀
I understand exactly how John feels! I dearly love the old RE Himalayan, but think its a little cramped for me. I love the moto guzzi vt85 its a little too expensive for me, then I sit on a ktm and think it's too tall! I do like the cf moto 450 mt and then I look at a gs1200.....It's bonkers and some dealers here in Spain don't do test rides as they do not have the required Insurance!!! I have however, found a triumph dealer in Gijon and they DO allow test rides, so today I am testing the 400x scrambler.....I wish Simon and Michael could come to Spain!!
I have a 1260, awesome bike
M1000XR a couple of bikes in one, plus you'll never get bored of the performance !!
My money is on the S 1000 XR or the GSX 1000 SX (the one with long suspension). Strange i haven't put a GS in this one!
YES! S1000XR every time!
What happened to the KTM Superduke GT!? It was the first one you looked at, but neither chose - would've certainly been a better choice than the H2 (tho I bet that engine is mental). Good show though, and you certainly opened his eyes to the Sports/Adventure type bikes.
I thought SBF didn't do test rides.
You missed the obvious bike. KTM Superduke GT.
Big enough for 2, big enough for a 6 footer, has 175bhp, loads of gadgets, not an adventure bike and available with optional luggage.
How did you miss it???????
Big miss, the gt ticks all the boxes and pick one up new for 15k
Very typical of this show. Pick an MT10 instead of a superduke GT. Makes no sense.
Maybe because he’s seen one in daylight and realised how hideously ugly it is?
@@MH-xd2nd 👍🤣.... blew his 18k buget on a m1000xr.
@dynamotightstar3472 I ride a 2022 Versys 1000 but I really want/need a SDuke GT. I think it's ugly too, but the rest of the bike is 👌 that won't put me off.
My thought was a BMW S1000XR, so thinking that is what he ended up with.
This is going the way of Escape to the Country. People turn up with a massive budget, look around some nice things and never buy anything.
I was literally thinking S1000XR the entire time, end then he said it! 😂
I'm surprised there was no mention of the KTM Super Duke GT.
5:01😴
Once again Hargreaves looks like he arrived on location for the shoot and went straight to the apparel department at Superbike Factory and picked a jacket off a hanger to wear for the video. At least this time it's not zipped up all the way.
He’s a trend setter not a trend follower 😉
@@bennettsbikesocial he looks like a professional athlete clumsily showing off the brand logo on his sportswear as required by his advertising endorsement or a social media influencer trying to get free merch from manufacturers.
Agreed. Looks incredibly strange
@@kurtinfl leave him alone, he’s just a cold blooded dude ready for the ride!
Yamaha FJR 1300..perfect choice.
was about to post the same.
He wanted something a bit sporty.
zzr1400
For his requirements, i might have looked for a Tuono or Ducati streetfighter
Has to be v4 Multi for me
Yep it's the only one that ticks all his boxes.
I have had the H2SX it was too much for the roads and the 900 GT Tracer boring after the Kawasaki and now have the Multi V4S the best of both.
is the test route available anywhere?
A Suzuki GSXS1000GT new could be a good choice?
He should try Tuono V4 RR
Yamaha FJR1300 😎👍🏼🤟🏼
Sounds like he wants to win bragging rights down the pub - 150+ horse power and £18k budget. Can’t understand why somebody needs that horsepower on the UKs potholed roads??
Because people can,my H2 SX is running 207whp
@@MikeTheBike58 what’s whp?
If his wife doesn't like the tracer 9gt then she won't like the mt10. Also he said he had never ridden a cp before but the tracer 9gt is a cross plane crank.
You don't need more than what a tracer9gt has to offer on the road pbvs wants to lose his licence
For me and what he wants maybe a ktm superadventure.. the 1000xr needs alot of revving I didn't like it personally
Constructive criticism guys nut getting samey samey as you said maybe get some cruisers on or even 125s
Great video as always
What about a VFR1200F
Super Adventure or Super Duke GT would have been my choice.
Super duke GT, Pikes Peak, XR?
Should maybe have tried a BM 1000xr.
Like the way he says the wife's pillion 90% of the time after you've chosen the bikes😂
Took me by surprise too!
Cheers, Michael
Michael brings up a great issue. At what price point do you just have to split it into two different bikes? At a certain point, no matter how much money you throw at it, one bike can't do everything well enough. Then John buys a bike well above the money he was talking about here? Its MSRP in the US at $25k for the base model to $30k+. I doubt the wife will spend much time on it. John, your "youth" is on fumes, middle age is moments away.
Different worlds. £18k is 3-4 older bikes! You could pick one for each style of riding. If i came on you would have to ditch Superbike Factory and scouer marketplace cap in hand 🤣
Totally agree def 3 second hand if youve got space - if you buy new bmw you have to get rid before warrenty runs out!
For its one one the main reasons i love bikes being able to change styles of bikes.
Absolutely. I would always go for quantity. At least 3 bikes for that budget 😂
2022 MT10 SP
Should have picked the ktm1290gt that would have stole the show especially with the tech pack
Tuono 1100RR?
Try more bikes, pick 2 each..will anybody ever buy one ? Great show gents
Most of the time he is riding with his pillion. Strange that he does not do the testride with her.
That's a really good point. Would have added an interesting element to the episode if the test rides were 2 up and there were the thoughts of the pillion
Man får gratulera, gött att sitta mer upprätt när man blir lite....till åren 😅
I think the KTM 1290 GT or super duke
Theres a reason why its called a Multistrada.
Why not tell us the dimensions of the buyer? Would help us understand his verdicts.
Bmw s1000xr?
The one and only would be a honda goldwing. 😊😊
GSX GT
Train drivers need more pay so they can buy 3 bikes😂
Superduke GT all day for him
S1000XR anyone?
He has to bring it up himself - AND ends up buying one;-))
I'd go for a Suzuki V-Strom 1050. But that's me.
Awesome! Great! Fantastic! More please!
