    Never store Redlines with sizzlers. The battery in the sizzlers will help destroy the metal

    really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing... but about being 56 and buying hot wheels again wow strange but a blast .

    Don't you think you might get the acid on the other cars after you touch the one with the acid on it. Maybe wash up after you touch it

    Hello Toy Car Collector,
    I enjoy your show. I am a proud owner of the original Sweet Sixteen and have been collecting since Hot Wheels came out.
    Recently I picked up a 160 car collection for around $200. Found some later Redlines and treasure hunt in that collection.
    I also have Matchbox cars I think from the 60s. Just subscribed. Cheers.

      Sounds like a nice score! Good Hot Wheels seem common on the internet but finding them in the wild is so hard to do. I always tell folks that when you go to a garage sale or collectible store you have to ask for things that are not out. Its your only chance because if they were already put out for sale they would be already gone. Every collectible store you go to has people they call when things come in so if its good stuff its not visible, its under the desk waiting for the person they called. Maybe they will pull something up for you if you ask. Could be some cars they were holding to list on ebay later. You never know.

    Why would it be "Light as Red" when its already Red lol, just "Light Red" will be fine ;-)

    Corrosion and pet hair - Sizzlers kill Hot Wheels dead! 🤦‍♂

    What is toning?

    • @toycarcollector
      @toycarcollector  Před rokem +2

      Toning is when the polished metal under the paint turns dark. Light when you polish brass to a shine and then a few weeks later its dull again. Over time most Redlines develop dark patches and spots. Two piece bodies (hoods) can develop differently because the metal is from different batches and have have unpainted edges.
