Sir Ken, I suggest you try it on your Mint machine. If it doesn't work, then fiddling might do the trick, but that is up to your whims. If you are willing to fiddle, first look up the Ubuntu Kernel Update Utility. If that doesn't work, try updating to Linux Mint 19 if you have 18.3 (I don't remember which one you installed and I'm not sure if .3 is the latest release since I use Ubuntu with UKUU). If THAT doesn't work, then try running Fedora or Manjaro, I do not recommend bare-bones Arch since you would definitely get confused at first and your fuse would, judging burn out before you made breakthroughs and realizations and managed to make a successful installation of Arch Linux. Good luck in your endeavors!

So we use Blackmagic Products at our company and are using the UltraStudio 4k for live streaming via Livestream.com and never did have any problems with audio and video being out of sync. I own a Mini Recorder for myself and use it for recording when i'm on a production and it worked fine for me. I use Blackmagic's Media Express Software for recording and I record in ProRes 422 (LT). You could try to record in Media Express (did install with the Desktop Video Software) and check if it's in sync or not.
I also would recommend using some sync test (there are plenty on youtube). Playing it back from another PC via HDMI and capturing that. It's way easier for monitoring this way.
I would suspect the encoder which is getting your audio out of sync. If you're streaming youre encoding your 10 bit uncompressed video you get over Thunderbolt into an 2,5 Mbit or so h.264 stream. If you stream with OBS, OBS is your encoder.
Also which Settings did you use in QuickTime? If your Mac needs to encode the video to a more compressed format that might be the issue as well.
I don't want to rule out that the Hardware isn't the issure it might could be (but that could be resolved with an software update). In my experience it is most likely the software encoder. Had a similar problem recently with a dedicated streaming box from Teradeck and that was a pure software issue with the encoder.

Thanks for the comment! I did run a 21 minute offline recording inside Media Express. Both the software and the camera were set to ProRes 422 LT. Not a single frame was out of sync.
I'm guessing you're solution is correct-the compression is slowing everything down over time. I use OBS-which uses x264 as the h.264 encoding solution-so do you know of a way to make it not drift? I've seen h.264 hardware encoders-which are significantly more expensive. Is that the only solution?
Computer Clan very curious, too. Just bought this to do interviews via Zoom with DSLR Canon EOS R. Should be delivered Thursday now I’m wondering if it’ll work or it’ll screw up and be out of sync halfway through a 30 minute interview. :(

I mean, did you try it in Windows? Maybe some macOS overhead is fucking shit up. Then I would try it on another computer, and if it still persists, then I would go through the customer care.

BTW: Regarding the number of floors in the building: no floors 11 or 13. Taditionally many buildings do not use number 13 to mark the actual 13th floor - for superstitious reasons. I don’t know why there is no floor 11 on the selector: maybe it is only accessible by maintenance personnel so they didn’t want to show it on the keypad, or they just skipped the number to give the impression the building is taller than it really is for marketing reasons (ala Trump Tower in NYC which has 58 actual floors but skips 10 numbers above the retail lower floors before proceeding with the residential floor numbering, giving the impression the building has 68 floors).
