    This guy is such a unique user of blender that he doesn't even delete the initial cube. I'm sure he started learning it by modelling a pretzel or something

    Quick tip to push the Ghibli feel a bit more
    Under the Noise Texture settings in the Normal Map frame, slightly turn up the distortion and reduce the scale to make it look a bit more hand painted, like the guache paint of your 3D clouds swirled and mixed.

      Totally!

    • @LightningBoyStudio
      @LightningBoyStudio  Před 3 lety +15

      @ChocoGamin3 Depends on what you intend to do with it. But if you just need some simple mesh clouds to use in the background (and don't mind losing the dynamic lighting), you could render the volumetric cloud over a transparent background, and apply it back as a texture onto a simple mesh.

    You're honestly the pinnacle of CZcams teachers.
    The way you communicate "What I want to do is", "The reason for that is" "this is why we don't want to do" "This is why we do" is absolutely perfect. Also the way you look at the camera when explain makes me feel like you're actually talking to me.
    100% amaizng

    • @LightningBoyStudio
      @LightningBoyStudio  Před 2 lety +11

      Thank you Thytrin! There is a lot of preparation that goes into a tutorial like this, and I do try to think of it as teaching. It's tricky because pure step-by-step tutorials are shorter and tend to be more popular on youtube but they also leave you more helpless the moment something goes wrong or you want to try something different. We do enjoy explaining things through and giving fun tips in the process so you can learn to think creatively by yourself.

    This channel has the most consistent, high quality, and creative NPR rendering techniques I've ever seen. I've seen loads of tutorials trying to make toon shaders and stylized clouds and so on, but most of the time it doesn't look very good or there is some big problem that nobody seems to have an answer for. And then I found this channel, with the most unique and effective solutions for these persistent issues, and the stuff you make looks so polished!! This is why I love the blender community. Great work!

    For rotating objects around another object, you can snap the 3d cursor to the selected object (make sure the origin is set to geometry of the selected object) and then pick the 3d cursor as the pivot point, this way anything you select will rotate around the object so you don't have to reselect everything each time etc.
