Got this exact bike Yesterday this bike is so fast! Thanks for the review not very many good reviews on this bike. So far I feel like I made a great choose considering I was planning on dropping over 6k.
Craig Murphy thats awesome, I’ve been trying to find reviews of the remedy with that upgrade. Not much info but seems like the way to go. I’ve just ordered one!
MTB Telly definitely the way to go. The stock rockshox rl Just wasn’t cutting it for me. The new shock makes the back end much more lively and just stick to the ground
deejay santiago hey thanks bud. I’d say a 2.6 would be good on there, i wouldn’t go any wider, the big tyres need a really wide rim like 35+mm internal width. I think a 2.6 minion up front would be excellent for grip and plow, maybe a little heavy and slower rolling
You can open the collar, clean and grease it to loosen it up. Your cable may not be pulling the actuator completely either, so maybe address that with a little tension at the lever.
I've had this bike since February and although i dont do big jumps i can say that it holds up fine with downhill style trails as i have ridden it at a couple bike parks. Im sure it would be just as good as any other good full suspension bike with big jumps tho especially if youre good at them and dont case everything. I find that the rims dent easy in my experience but that could just be from me being an idiot and slamming it into pointy rocks and curbs with lower pressures and with all my weight on the back.
Jack Milliar it depends how you ride it. I ride all the downhill trails here on it and its great. The 18.5 is a little short for me at 174 cm, i ride it with a super deluxe which is killer. But the head angle could be a little slacker and a little more travel would be more capable for downhill trails. This thing loves the big jumps but
Nj van Zyl yeah it wouldnt hurt to be a little higher at the front, can always swap a spacer if it ends up a little too much. I reckon 35 will be right on the money
Dean Herde its a little more playful, the suspension is sublime, its super stiff, but a little heavier. And it seems to get off the line a little quicker. The new alloy reign would be my other choice. They’re both up there
Chris Berge it was 3520 with the bupa discount. And would certainly be a performance upgrade from the trance 2 on the descents. A bit heavier at 14kg but this thing is a legit descending machine. Trance is an awesome all mountain machine with more focus on long days on the trails. The Remedy is an enduro machine more similar to the Reign. If you’re looking to make the trance more awesome on the way down, put a 40mm stem on it and it’ll surprise you how confident it will become
MTB TV awesome . Just looked it up the components are far better than what I have on the trance . I’ve already changed my stem and bars . All renthal . Suspension on remedy ? I’ve got fox 34 up front and fox float on back all standard really
Been riding this exact bike for 6 months now, still cant fault it. What a weapon.
euanme3 even better with an upgraded Debonair spring in the forks 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽killer bike

I bought a super deluxe for my remedy 7 2017. Such an amazing upgrade I definitely recommend it if you have the money

damn you ride like a beast..
Douglas Au thanks man ✌🏼✌🏼
Hi love the channel mate. Can i ask please, do you know what is the max tyre width you can fit in the stock rim for the remedy? Thanks.
deejay santiago hey thanks bud. I’d say a 2.6 would be good on there, i wouldn’t go any wider, the big tyres need a really wide rim like 35+mm internal width. I think a 2.6 minion up front would be excellent for grip and plow, maybe a little heavy and slower rolling
MTB Telly thanks for the reply. Do you recommend magic mary 2.6 on front and stock bontrager in the back?
deejay santiago its a big tyre, it’ll be superb grip and damping but at the cost of rolling speed. Should be a fun combo but!
Hey nice video! can you tell me how tall are you and what size are you riding? Thanks!
Nicolás Canobra thanks mate, I’m 174cm and I’m on the 18.5. Any taller and I’d go the 19.5. Its almost a little small but not quite
I have a question you bought the bike with that handlebar???
Bekrisao0988@hotmail.com Bekrisalsa0988@yahoo.com nah it comes with the bontrager bars but i like the renthals so I put them on straight away
So I just got the same bike, my dropper post is kinda slow and a little bit sticky on the way up, any suggestions on how to fix that?
You can open the collar, clean and grease it to loosen it up. Your cable may not be pulling the actuator completely either, so maybe address that with a little tension at the lever.
@@mtbtelly5522 Thanks! I'll do that today!
Hey, What size are you riding? I am about to buy one of these but cant decide whether I'm a 18.5" or 19.5". I'm 179cm. cheers.
Dylan Wedding definitely go the 19.5. I’m 174cm and the 18.5 is almost a little small for me. 19.5 will feel perfect for you
I picked one up last week, feels spot on! Cheers.
Is that 18.5 M/L size ? I had a demo last week on 18.5 and it did feel little short in the saddle !! I'm 5ft 10
are you going to sell the reign?
Orlando Greer I’m thinking about it. They’re both so good, its hard to part with but no use leaving it in the shed
Do u think this bike would withstand big jumps and downhill style trails ?
I've had this bike since February and although i dont do big jumps i can say that it holds up fine with downhill style trails as i have ridden it at a couple bike parks. Im sure it would be just as good as any other good full suspension bike with big jumps tho especially if youre good at them and dont case everything. Did u say bupa discount, as in in the health insurance company?
Oscar O'Mahoney Yep, they got a deal 15% off all Trek bikes i think. I bought mine during the Tour Down Under and they had 20% off so even better
mate you just made me save 630 bucks! thanks for that!
what size frame and how tall are you ?
That was an 18.5 and Im 174cm. A little small for me in certain situations, but an excellent bike
How much rise do you have on that handle bar mate?
Nj van Zyl 30mm. Could probably go a little higher as well
I have the same bike in the 9.8. I agree. I'm thinking a 35mm rise will put me in a nice comfortable position to throw it around some more.
Nj van Zyl yeah it wouldnt hurt to be a little higher at the front, can always swap a spacer if it ends up a little too much. I reckon 35 will be right on the money
Is this much better than the Reign or just different?
Dean Herde its a little more playful, the suspension is sublime, its super stiff, but a little heavier. And it seems to get off the line a little quicker. The new alloy reign would be my other choice. They’re both up there
MTB TV hey mate thanks for your reply. Interesting stuff.
3000 grand really ?? I got a trance 2 2017 upgrade ya reckon has it got better components
Chris Berge it was 3520 with the bupa discount. And would certainly be a performance upgrade from the trance 2 on the descents. A bit heavier at 14kg but this thing is a legit descending machine. Chris Berge the suspension on the Remedy is sublime, its by far better than the price suggests
3k a good price I just paid 3200 same bike yesterday.
