The greatest irony of all regarding the Gran Fury and the Concord is that, after AMC stopped building the Concord in 1983, Chrysler used the Kenosha plant to build Dodge Diplomats, Chrysler Fifth Avenues and, wait for it, Plymouth Gran Furys for a couple of years!
AMC stood for American Motors Corporation. They’re the company that made the Gremlin, the Eagle, the Concord (the same body styles were used for the Concord and the Eagle, but the Eagle was 4 wheel drive, and the Concord was either rear or front wheel drive-I don’t remember what it was), the Matador, the Hornet, the Javelin, and the Pacer (you might know what a Pacer is if you’ve watched the movie “Wayne’s World.”) They were bought out by Chrysler around 1987.
More importantly, AMC saved Jeep! Kaiser (who owned Willys Overland) was going to pull the plug on the civilian Jeep business... Renault stepped in as a "White Knight" in the 1980's, saving AMC from bankruptcy, and providing much of the engineering on the most important Jeep ever made, the XJ Cherokee (introduced in 1984). Lee Iacocca (president of Chrysler) said that Chrysler's "merger" with AMC (in 1987) was all about Jeep.
@@jamespaluch3481 the AMC Eagle was the really cool four wheel drive version of the Spirit and Concord models...most popular as the Eagle wagon. Chrysler killed the Eagle, then decided to market the new Renault Premier (which AMC dealers were primed to sell as a 1988 model) as the Eagle Premier, and decided to make the rest of their new "Eagle" brand captive Mitsubishi/Diamond Star imports. My dad owned a 1997 Eagle Talon TSi AWD, which was a top of the line turbo AWD Mitsubishi Eclipse with a Chrysler radio 🤣

Clean operation. No fluids running out of the bale!
It hurt me to see that Geo being crushed. But I still liked the video
Something strangely satisfying about watching an early 80's Plymouth Grand Fury getting crushed with an AMC Hornet...
It’s a Concord, the car that took over from the Hornet.
And AMC built the Gran Fury, Diplomat and rear-drive Chrysler Fifth Avenue in the Kenosha plant after the Concord and Eagle were discontinued
So i guess that truck at 6:00 split in. Half :)
I SAWED THIS TRUCK IN HALF
watch how easy that Geo Metro gets crushed...nothin but a thin pancake
So i guess that truck at 6:00 split in half
whats with the dislikes? people crying because a load of metal got crushed :L
Some people have nothing better to do than bleat instead of contributing. Excellent video.
AMC is rare
Think of all the car museums missing AMC Hornets and Plymouth Gran Fury's from their collections...
What car company is AMC Concord I never heard of that car?
