  • A video tutorial on how to remove and replace the cabin air filter on a 2019 - 2021 Toyota Corolla.
    WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR TOYOTA COROLLA?
    It is recommended that you change your cabin air filter every 10,000 - 15,000 miles or once a year.
    WHERE IS THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR TOYOTA COROLLA?
    The cabin air filter is located underneath the dash, behind the glovebox. The cabin filter door will need to be removed in order to access the cabin air filter.
    WHAT IS THE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR TOYOTA COROLLA?
    Cabin air filters, also know as A/C air filter, help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter, or ac air filter, can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Toyota Corolla passenger compartment location.
    This video tutorial can be used to help find the location of as well as remove, change or replace the cabin AC air filter on the following Toyota Models:
    2019 Toyota Corolla
    2020 Toyota Corolla
    2021 Toyota Corolla

      HAHAAHAHAHA!!! that was them hoping you were an idiot. a dealer should only charge like $60 for this, and even that is just robbery if it's in conjunction with other work. $400 was him hoping you were an idiot.

      @@hazelstreet1654 I assume @mas9510 is joking, but I literally was quoted $200 by Kia for my old Rios cabin air filter. I was there for something else (warranty work) and they said they recommended a new cabin air filter and it would be $200. My mind was blown, I asked how they could justify the pricing. They said $100 for the filter, $100 for the labor. I said, “$100 to put in a new filter!?” They said “well, in your particular model, you have to pull the dash apart” 😂 They lied, it was basically the same as in this video, except easier (didn’t even have to remove the glove box)

    I checked the cabin air filter in my car this morning. That cabin air filter was probably five years old. I was surprised by the amount of dust in the grooves of the filter. Scotty Kilmer was right about cabin air filters. A dirty cabin air filter needs to be cleaned or changed immediately if you don't want to have a problem with the air conditioning system.

    Careful now the airflow is DOWN so if the arrow says this side up (Toyota OEM) do that, if aftermarket filter arrow says air flow that arrow must point down.

    • @nram1
      @nram1 Před rokem +1

      They make this confusing so people can pay the dealers $50 to install. I just did mine and the "air flow" arrow is down.

    Changing the filer was easy, but the hard part for me was getting the glove box back on. When I went to put it back on, I couldn't get the hinge to get out of the way to close the glove box. I had to leave it unhooked. Maybe mine isn't hooked up correctly to the vehicle. This one also just had the filter in the compartment. No tray

    Regarding the piston dampener, some 2019-2022+ Corolla's are made in Japan, while others are assembled in USA.
    My 2021 Corolla Hybrid is made in Japan and has the piston. There are minor difference's in Japanese vs made in USA Corollas of the same model year.
    The Fram cabin filter I bought at Walmart is CV12157. Not all Walmart locations stock this filter number. That Fram part number uses a dual layered N95 grade materiel.

    • @hazelstreet1654
      @hazelstreet1654 Před rokem

      Doesn't the glove box just fall open, when you pull the lever? If so, then you need one. If it slowly opens, then maybe your model did away with the piston that originally is engineered in that spot?

      If the filter says the words air or airflow by the arrow then point the arrow down. If there is just an arrow then install it with the arrow pointing up.
