This is probably the best cabin filter instructional video for the 2022 Toyota Rav4. He is very detailed informative and kudos to the camera person who does an excellent job to give all of us the visual.

This is so wonderful to hear. We do a lot of prep before we actually film and are so glad that it seems to pay off. Thank you very much for sharing these great thoughts and for the guidance that will help us form up as we continue.

the airflow arrow on the filter is confusing in this case because it is the opposite direction the filter case follow to fit in the car; thank you two for pointing this out. this can really save us from putting the filter the wrong way. really appreciated your thoughtful approach for doing small things like this.

Thanks! It would have been helpful to note change intervals or how often to check,.

Excellent question! Most 'experts' would say that they should be changed between 15,000 and 30,000 miles. Our Toyota Service Schedule says that it should be inspected at 15,000 and changed at 30,000 or when airflow is noticeably reduced. Our opinion is that Inspecting at 15,000 could mean that it might need to be changed well ahead of 30,000, and noticeable air flow reduction is too late. Our thinking is that driving conditions (environment, road surface/condition, extended idling/traffic, etc.) would impact that filter life more than mileage. As an example, we picked up a 4 year old car last year with only 8500 miles on it and the cabin air filter was a mess. So we inspect them every spring and change when we see the filter beginning to look past service life. Hope that helps.
