Hi Laur! Loving your videos. Could you show us what your acclimatization area looks like? How much light are you giving them immediately after deflasking? Do they need to stay in the dark for any amount of time or are you just putting them in a heavily shaded area? I would like to know your timeline as far as increasing their exposure to light.
Thanks!
Thanks! If I am acclimating plants indoors, I use full-spectrum T5 grow lights to give approximately 100 f.c. for 16 hours per day for the first month. Since the philodendrons are in a closed container, the relative humidity stays close to 100% to replicate the humidity that the plants were used to in tissue culture. After a month, I increase the light to 150-200 f.c and remove the lid of the container. It's really humid where I live (like 70% relative humidity on an average day), but people in drier climates may need a humidifier to supplement low relative humidity.
@@plantsinjars excellent info. Thank you!
Can you please show us a video on how to make a simple home made biocoupler
You say Philodendron verrucosum but the jar says el Choco Red. That it P. rubrijuvenile. Did they send you the wrong plants..?
Yes lol. I originally had a part of the video where I talked about this but I ended up editing it out because I didn't do a great job with the explanation.
Can you tissue culture plants from the supermarket like vegetables?
That’s the ONLY way I’d 100% trust vegetatively propagated supermarket veggies lol!
