- Netflix has become the biggest time waster of our generation. There are so many things you could do to improve your situation or the situations of others rather than spend hours a day watching Netflix. This is a discussion of some better uses of your time. Side hustles can be a great way to earn additional streams of income, and cutting out Netflix will give you much more time to spend on other things. Stop watching Netflix!!!

Woow I'm from Mexico and some months ago I find your channel. I'm CFA Candidate Level I and I'm going to do my exam in February 2021, just this night I was going to open a account in Netflix, now I'm not going to do that. Thank you AJ, you inspire me for continue my study and avoid distractions.

Hey AJ; I found your channel right as I was preparing for my February CFA Level I. Your guide on making a study plan has really helped a lot. I might say that very few people can stick to their plan 100%, but having that structure has really helped in maintaining progress, even if it's just 4 hours a day and weekends off. Thanks
Do you have any advice for the class of '20 finance graduates? I worked hard in school, and have a lot of research experience publishing papers with my professors, but it's hard to get a start in the industry because they don't think I have "industry experience." Thank you!

My best advice in that situation is to network as much as you can. Typically this is done via email, phone, and LinkedIn right now. Make an excel sheet of 100 places you might want to work and get as much info as you can about them. Then contact them consistently asking for an opportunity!
@@straighttalks-ajsrmek323 Checkout "Deep Work" by Cal Newport if you haven't, (although I have a hunch that you have) talks about a lot of the same concepts you discuss in terms of time management and creating value with your time versus allocating towards social media/Netflix
The CFA is a beautiful symphony. To pass, one needs to keep playing the music, so you can listen to the entire symphony as you view the musical notes.

I personally consider quitting Netflix, but at least I always ALWAYS watch it in a foreign language, which I have learned.
For exampel:
Watching Narcos has definitly helped me to speak a more smooth Spanish.
But watching stuff in my mothertongue is a massiv waste of time.
Speaking 8 languages and use them at work and in daily life 🙋🏼♂️
I love movies, I must admit it... but only GOOD movies. I tried Netflix for just one month, and it specializes completely in out-of-date, crap films that were never good in the first place, or lousy, low budget films that went straight to video. Total garbage!! What the hype is about Netflix is totally mystifying to me.
I'm a bit disappointed that you HAD to bring hustle culture/side hustles into it. Replacing all of the Netflix watching with money making is missing the point and can just lead to a whole slew of mental health problems in itself. Sometimes you just need to do something because it's good for your body or your mental health and just brings you joy. Always being told that your hobby should be a side hustle is disheartening.
Very good point. I agree doing something productive that you enjoy can be a better option.
U talked about deeper sense of fulfillment , it's hard to see something that hasn't happened yet , can u share your own journey and how the work that u do leads to that deeper sense of satisfaction and achievement , like I'm studying for CFA but I find it difficult to imagine that that the work I'll do in the future will actually mean something coz itll have to do mostly with money and numbers crunching whereas watching Netflix makes u experience lots of emotions with very little effort
Good questions, I might do a video on this, yes. I'll argue that emotions felt while watching tv are fickle.
Netflix just needs to shutdown crap after crap
People should just work and work and nothing else because enjoying anything is wrong and doesnt earn money.
I almost feel guilty how little I use my Netflix subscription. I've thought there was something wrong with me how uninterested I am with almost any 30min show. But maybe not, I rather do other things. Like manicure my lawn lol--not even middle aged or a dad.

@@AjarnSpencer i can listen to CZcams with mt phone screen off. Most small creators rely on audio vs. visuals. So no, I don't use them in the same way..

I rather waste my time in the Gym and be a Athlete and can train later on other people on netflix on the other Hand its not worth it because you getting nothing out of it
I enjoy Netflix to a certain degree but now, I've noticed a repulsive and sickening trend to promote and normalize certain lifestyles that will never be a part of something i'm willing to pay to see and despite requesting that the content description fit what's actually in the film or series , which would give me the choice to view or not , They continue to willfully and deceptively omit certain language that would afford the opportunity of choice. I will not continue to pay for it and i have had enough !!! By the way , you can't block movies or shows if you haven't been given accurate info on what they contain to begin with.

Hey AJ I want to share my perspective, like 5-7 drama on Netflix change my mind and give me more Point Of View about life, I think Netflix is good for me
Some shows can actually have a positive impact, I agree.
Simply, anyone can spend their time they wish. However, for me, the definition of wasting time is derived from whether or not people are spending time on activities that align with their interests and goals.

Work out and I haven’t turn my TV on in over a month and I pay $300 a month in cable and TV subscriptions cell I don’t really care about money I really don’t I think money is stupid and I make enough of it to where I don’t have to care about what I’m spending it on. That’s why I work my ass off every day of the week except Sundays.
I don't really have Something on Netflix,what Interested me.all what I Like to watch,i have on DVD and Blu-ray.

And CZcams isn't worse for timewasting! Netflix users waste 1/5th of time that CZcams users use, therefore youtube users waste 5 times more than they do on youtube watching unsearched for paid influencers like yourself. Bet youtube or amazon paid you to say this as another takeover ploy
time i spend on netflix is 2 hours every 3 days as im asleep... time i waste on youtube; 6 hours a day. You are a paid influencer, when i finish earning my 10-35,000$ a month i watch nef;ix. You should NOT be SPENDING MORE TIME ON CZcams! Also Netflix is not Ad-Ridden like youcrap.. i mean youtube

Should have said streaming services... Netflix is one of hundreds at this point... cool I canceled Netflix I still have amazon hulu Disney plus HBO etc...
