    Hi I have another question. As I was preparing today I did 84 QTM questions in 6 1/2 hours so I realised Im slow. So can you do a seperate video on time management. How you improved and which sections slowed you down the most while preparing and in exam. and overall time management during exam sitting.

  •  Před 4 lety +6

    How's it going AJ? I hope you continue to make videos, enjoy your perspective. Going for level 2 this year! Cheers

    I’d love to more about your background and salary information. If you felt comfortable but I think you should make more videos for students and financial profession interested in certifications. Also maybe going over licenses versus the CFA and other certifications

    Hi A.J.! Here's a question for you. Are CFA's regulated by FINRA or the SEC? I almost went and got my series 7, 63, and more importantly, the series 3 (I really love the futures markets but not forex). A great friend of mine, who happens to be an excellent securities fraud attorney convinced me not to do so. I have my CPA (which is regulated by the board of education in NY for NY CPAs) but I have had my eye on getting the CFA designation. I just don't want to have to report to FINRA every time I need to belch or fart with my finances. Thanks for the informative vids. Keep it up, dude!

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  Před 4 lety

      My understanding is that a CFA charterholder is not regulated by FINRA, but I will say the CFA Institute standards of ethics are probably more strict than FINRAs.

    • @iwaswronguwasright
      @iwaswronguwasright Před 4 lety

      @@straighttalks-ajsrmek323Thank you. That's all fine with ethics standards being loftier. The issue with being a broker under they eye of FINRA is that any investment I have made for myself has to be reported to FINRA. That includes real estate investments. Why should FINRA be allowed to do so? Sorry for venting and thanks for the great content!

    Do you trade bonds and fx also? There are any relation with CFA and fixed income trading? Because my impression is that CFA work only with equities.

    • @straighttalks-ajsrmek323
      @straighttalks-ajsrmek323  Před 3 lety +1

      I do not trade bonds or fx. But yes the CFA program convers bond valuation extensively, and there is some material on bond trading too.

    I'm an engineer and currently preparing for my CFA Level 1 exam. My GPA in engineering is low, so will it affect while applying for job?

    • @iwaswronguwasright
      @iwaswronguwasright Před 4 lety +1

      Most likely, no. Your GPA will not affect your success at getting a job in Finance. Passing the 3 CFA exams speaks volumes. I am currently going for my CPA exam. My GPA is 3.1, which isn't so great. I have spoken with many in regards to GPA scores. No one in the real world cares. Pass any of these hard exams, get experience, etc. and Bob's your uncle! Good luck!

      In my experience, having a low GPA can hurt your chances to apply for and land some jobs. But if you have the CFA it should trump a low GPA.
